  1. VermontSkier - what product should I use to recaulk the bolt, and should this be done on the inside and outside of the boat?
  2. Thanks VermontSkier. How do I access the bolt?
  3. Thanks everybody for the great advice. It seems that one of the swim platform bolts is loose (on the same side as the leak), so maybe that is the culprit. I will have this tightened in a few weeks and hopefully that will solve the problem for next year.
  4. Thanks all - very helpful advice! Much appreciated, as always! As suggested, I also posted on the Malibu site if they have any additional thoughts.
  5. Hi all - I have a mystery leak in my 1999 Malibu sunsetter LXI. The dealer who manages the maintenance and repairs also cannot diagnose the problem. I have attached pictures. It is a very slow leak which appears at the back of the boat, and slowly spreads, on the carpet just to the port side of the HDS box cover. The dealer tested to see if there were any leaks by filling the bilge, and there were none. The bilge is generally empty. It doesn’t appear to be from the HDS box either which has virtually no water and the hds box seems dry (the compartment has only the usual very few drops from the shaft packing) so it doesn’t appear to be coming in from there. It generally takes about 24 hours of sitting in the water before it appears, and then spreads very very slowly, and only on the port side carpet. Any thoughts from this group?
  6. Thanks folks for all of the helpful replies. Seems like there a few options and happy to learn about Summerski which seems to be the closest.
  7. Hi all, I just heard that sadly, Spray Lake waterski centre, located near Toronto, Ontario has been sold to a developer. Does anyone have any information about that, and whether it will continue to operate in some fashion. And if not, if there are any other sites in/near Toronto which may replace it? Other than McClintocks, which is a bit far from Toronto, I don't know of other slalom sites in the area. Thanks so much for any info you may have.
  8. r_maniak and others - I had a question about the use of levels - is this so that you can adjust the offcourse for different weight configurations in the boat? In my case, the boat isn't level when we use the offcourse since my driver is alone, but we have calibrated it in that position, and it is always the same. Is there any reason for me to use levels, or to level the boat? Thanks.
  9. I second these views and recommend this product! My hats off to Erik for this invention to solve a real world problem for skiers without regular access to a slalom course. It puts the challenge back into free skiing and keeps the timing for the ski course in synch. After a couple of weeks of use, I did have a chance to get onto a slalom course and had a PB, which is the proof that the Offcourse is doing its job. I have been a 15-offer for many years (once at 22 off) and this year I reached 22 off again comfortably at the end of the season and also got 3 at 28 off. It is beautifully and sensibly engineered and Erik is extremely responsive to questions or any issues. It requires a little set-up and and needs to be calibrated when the boat passenger weight changes, but it is worth it.
  10. Any updates on this? waiting for reviews... has anyone had a chance to try it yet?
  11. Any reviews on this product since the first batch has shipped?
  12. I am also eagerly awaiting comments and reviews about the product once it has shipped. I understand shipping has now begun to the US so for those who have (or will receive) it please let us know your thoughts on how it works!
  13. andjules - it is the Clear Lake that is attached to Stoney Lake in the Kawarthas. The course was in Bryson's Bay, and had been there (without a permit) for over 20 years. It was a sad ending for a whole bunch of us who skied there regularly.
