  1. Check out Success craft .excellent all round. Meteor outboard model fantastic barefoot and slalom. Pro 6.0 very good slalom and wake boarding. Also Lewis are very good. Lots of good second hand stock around.Excel 1850. ,Tournament, Supreme . I particularly like the Skibird that was Albert Lewis' last designs after he sold the Lewis company .These are skibird brand and now made around Hawkesbury river in NSW- Super tracking and great wakes albeit I think still have wood involved. Have fun!
  2. Electric propulsion has been in use for some time now in ships albeit powered by diesel or gas turbine generators so maybe more hybrid drive could be the go or there is the other end of the scale in electric trolling motors. Beefy super version could be interesting. I say bring on electric. Fantastic power to weight ratio, odorless, less components, smaller package size , leave the boat solar charging when not in use , distribute weight of batteries to give optimum trim. Also pod drives as used on tugs have incredible manoeuvring ability with 360 degree rotation available. I see quite a few advantages.
  3. Kinda sad. I bought heaps of gear and boat bits from Overtons in the 90's. They were great then. One of first major players as I recall in water sports gear online sales. I remember fitting out two outboard boats with ski accessories 95/96 and 99 then - 2000 off to buy wifey new KD 3000 -Monday morning local ski shop southern Sydney was 850aud. Got online Overtons 550aud Monday afternoon delivered my door in Australia Friday 11:00am They were unreal then- they gave me access to almost everything I desired /needed ( in a nautical way). Now I would go to Wiley's or Performance both of which offer great service and sharp prices.
  4. Both times I've been there fines money went to a local orphanage-Marsh home for children- a very worthy cause and no middle man taking a cut. @Nautibynature - you should be having an absolute ball around now!
  5. Preferably take your ski + gear but in the past Gordon has always sorted my wife and I out with great skis. My tip - take under glove hand protectors. You will have a ball! Enjoy
  6. 2015 Gordon Rathbun 's ski paradise was a big tick off my list. Absolutey great! Awesome coaches and skiing for a whole month. Wife and I look forward to do it again . Next time Air New Zealand sleeper couch looks the way to travel via Texas. That long haul from Australia is nasty.
  7. the Wade Cox instructional video that came with that ski changed mine and my ski buddies lives ! I'll ask if my mate still has his but I suspect it's on his own wall
  8. probably the best tip I got from ski paradise was" look at the boat " Shoulders and head all squared up- suddenly way better balance and turn -no more dropping my shoulder and crashing
  9. I've been favoring GAME OF THRONES dragon to breathe fire order 'DROCARIS' lately
  10. Imo ho tx 71" also a very suitable weapon for you
  11. switch your offside pull will improve I think -it worked for me
  12. General rule I follow is use a bridle (like old school outboard - no pole) between stern eyes. Very high loads with tube, particularly multi person types. Running block on bridle will centre load.
  13. Seth is all round great guy Absolutely awesome coach and and not bad at a party either. He will probably find his real niche in presenting. Wishing him great success.
  14. Also excellent for open water free skiing slowing down to 26 mph My wife loves hers

  18. I'm 59 and 235 lbs and love my 71" triumph (2012) steps in bottom but no textured finish That being said I think you may do better on the P6 71" to get back into skiing Bit easier to deep water start I think so more energy left to ski with after getting up Go the Tx next year
