  1. I worked at a summer camp as a ski boat driver/instructor and it was one of the BEST adventures of my life. I met my wife at camp back in 1999. If you are in college, take advantage!
  2. Trying being their teacher at school........
  3. On a normal winter/summer cycle, I LIVE in my Assault Hybrid from O'Neil. The Columbia River is a COLD body of water and skiing at 6 am in the morning makes a dry suit a necessity for me. My suit is currently getting arm cuffs replaced........... Hoping O'Neil gets it back to me sooner than later.
  4. Couple trips to CA this winter, BUT I think it is nearing time to man up and get @Deanoski on the pond with me............
  5. @JackQ Maybe your style suits you better with the Nano FT1 shape? Did you just ski it at the one set up, or did you try some dialing in based on what you felt and saw? Just trying to get a feel for if there was any room to make the ski better for you through a different set up? Where are you from?
  6. You'll have to call GOODE on that one.......... What size XT were you on and what size Flextail did you try? Who set it up for you? Remember your binding placement numbers and fin settings? There were two distinctive "variations" that worked well, and lots of people spent time chasing settings that didn't work as well. My ski worked really well with either of the settings that were somewhat common place for the test team to be on. I love my flextail, but see the positives of this Rev6 helping lots more people fall in love with the ski.
  7. @mbabiash you nailed it. I was on several sizes/versions of the FT1 this winter and the new Rev6. I only skied my flextail last summer and didn't get on an FT1 until this January. There are some really neat aspects to that ski, but my style is better suited to the flextail shape. The Rev6 rides more connected, yet is faster cross course. Watching other skiers on the Rev6 made it very noticeable. It really is worth a test/demo.
  8. Well, company philosophies may be different.......... if you are working R&D year round and find a tweak too good to not release to the public. The REV6 really is going to make more people happy than the previous version. The FT1 models are not a different version of the ski if you are including that in the mix. There is the flextail REV5 (2015 version) and this new REV6 (2016 version).........
  9. @MarkTimm careful...... people are supposed to think Washington is all rain and wind........ We don't want people knowing the truth do we?
  10. Only way to tell is to try one out right? They make that pretty easy to do. @6balls you wouldn't even have to smooch off your brother. Just order one for 30 days........... I loved my flextail....... this REV6 is gonna make more people happy......... the sets I had on it were pretty darn sweet this winter!
  11. @skifan a 30 day demo program with return if you don't think it is for you........ No brainer in my eyes. I spent a little time on the new REV6 this winter, and that is the ski I would suggest if you are interested. I had a great relationship with my flextail last summer, BUT this new REV6 is a step up in many ways. More stable and connected feeling. More predictable than the previous version flextail. AND I SAY THIS HAVING REALLY LIKED THE 3 tournament scores I posted into 39.5 last summer on my flextail. PB of 2@39.5 What are you on now? Let me know if I can help you along the way.
  12. Dates..... I like planning too.... ahead for the summer so I can ski ski ski!

  14. @"Pat M" both my wife and I have the 82 waist skis to ski on groomers/ice and to ski with our kids. I am going to get a fatter set soon for the powder. THE SNOW SKIS ROCK!

  16. Every year adventure here in the Pacific North West. You could do that all winter.... and even some places in the summer!
  17. One would ponder the reason they no longer make them.............
  18. Only guy I know qualified to ski that way is @richarddoane .......... and maybe my son someday......
  19. 5 year warranty on the GOODE....... I have a 9800 my son skis on. They are durably and last.
  20. Lots of 39 off skiers run an opener at 28. I have a philosophy that you ought to be out there skiing at least 4 passes per tournament set on an average day. Maybe you get into your 5th pass on a great day. No sense in starting short and never falling into a groove. See a few guys go out at 32 and only run a ball or two at 38. Seems like a waste of a round to me. I would stick with the 22 and make it your easiest pass!
  21. I probably treat my equipment nicer than most. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in my head. Great time to look stuff over, check bindings and ski and fin.
  22. Happy Veteran's Day to everyone out there that served our country. I thank you for the freedoms we all enjoy and the great opportunity to enjoy waterskiing. We are fortunate that many have sacrificed and dedicated their lives to preserving our way of life. I know that @OB1 is a veteran. Who else out there? Thanks to all of you!
  23. Has he shown interest in slalom yet? My son bypassed my plan for him and went right to slalom. You might want to let him choose the path if he is motivated. Just a thought, not knowing you individual situation. Just don't rule it out.
  24. Almost all of my training happens on the Columbia River......... My own little touch of paradise!
