  1. Best wake is cable, but the upward pull is counterproductive in it's own right.
  2. Most of the real high end come in the 67-68. 69" Carbon-V? Lithium Senate in 69 or 71"?
  3. Bindings forward could work. I'd actually start by sliding the fin forward a very slight amount. Should lengthen the arc of the curve for a smoother turn. You'll sacrifice a little angle probably.
  4. Lots of posts here, so I may have missed this one. Has anyone mentioned the time Andy was on a podium with Glen Campbell and sang him Rhinestone Cowboy?
  5. It would be much cooler if it were mine.
  6. Seems like more of these should have a ski rack. Forgive the old combo ski, it was just for the initial test ride.
  7. Sweet looking boat. Good luck with the sale.
  8. @schafer Not being all about the Goode gets a dislike? Anyway, any idea if binding and fin setup were good? I've been on more than one ski that someone goofed up, and it can make all the difference in the world.
  9. Always nice to have friends just as stupid as myself. Several times in the last few years we've had vests and such freeze to the carpet after skiing.
  10. Did air 30 and water 32 before. Had to really watch as calm water and thin ice can be hard to differentiate.
  11. Bluetooth ear buds with music and two way communications for coaching/driving direction. And make sure they float.
  12. Carl Roberge, Sammy Duvall, Mike Hazelton, Patrice Matin... Overall have been the world's best. Also, of course we think that slalom is the most important single event, this is a slalom site. Check the night jump crowds, that is it's own level of cool. Pretty sure the Nightmare would say jump is the most coveted title.
  13. If you're ever skiing with n Madison give a yell. Nice boat.
  14. I used to ski with a great young skier whowas small for his age. He rode an O'Brien Amigo, but it was very different than the Amigo shaped combos I see now. I could be way off but it seems like these would be tough to use as a slalom for anything more than learning to cross the wake. Are there other skis I'm missing? Found my daughter a good condition used HO Revolt years ago. Nice ski and got a decent trade on it when she was done with it.
  15. I thought isopropyl was what would help water burn through. Never heard that about ethanol. My brother bought a boat that sat 2 years with e-10. Had to GI through tons of fuel related problems, including the tank emptying itself into the hull through a hole in the fuel line. Could be a coincidence, but it's enough to keep me away from it. My 85 S&S is using it's original fuel line with no issues.
  16. So 15% "must not be used" it risk "serious damage, but 10% will cause no damage? It would make much more sense yo me that it would just take longer for the damage to show up. I'll continue to avoid it as much as I can. Which in my boat is 100% of the time.
  17. The link says it all for me. All of the mechanics I've spoken to say if you're engine wasn't designed for it, try to avoid it. http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/archive/index.php/t-18422.html
  18. I did lie a little about the extent of a couple injuries. I'd hate to have her get the impression that I should give up skiing. Though she did notice the bruising of the torn hamstring.
  19. Torn hamstring recently. But if the lake isn't iced over the season isn't over. 5 years in a row to December. Hope to be recovered in time.
  20. @DTM had a kid get hit in the head and die that way in Madison a few years back. Tough stuff. Got run over by a friend's dad once upon a time. Coming around to pick me up after a fall.
  21. Can't remember before I could ski. I really knew I wanted to be a skier when the guy up the street with a Nautique stopped by our dock after his ski buddies had to go to work. Took my brother and I out and started teaching us to ski the course. Came back regularly for 2-3 summers til he moved. He had twenty years on us, but became one of the best friends I have to this day. Truly Jed Herbert is an ambassador of our sport.
  22. 85 Stars and Stripes. Over 2000 hours with no major repairs, been sent n it since day one.
  23. @swc5150, I was told the 94 ps190 hull was what they started benchmarking against, along with all the best (196,200, carbon pro, txi...)
