  1. @ski6jones not specifically; but water in the Valley is always an issue.
  2. Lake posted @horton is in Madera, CA. about an hour from Yosemite. Sold some time ago and has been dry since; probably 8-10 years ago. Lake was unprotected from wind and had a E-W setting which was terrible for sun in the AM and PM; but it was fun to ski and the original owners were great.
  3. @JeffSurdej does SS make every adult that completed the course a mandated reporter. If so, does that not take some of the responsibility off of the organization and put it on the individual as well? If this has already been discussed, my apologies.
  4. And don’t worry, if you are one of the members that took the training we will protect you from the Bad People that haven’t -- by not letting them ski in any tournaments.
  5. I guess it is just me; but something is not appropriate.
  6. @horton thanks, was including wife and myself in one set and occasional other family member. Total individual sets probably much higher.
  7. Regarding the Survey: From my perspective there probably needs to be an up-date to how much is spent on skiing per year. I know when I did that survey I clicked $1,000 to $5000, but really never put pen to paper. On average in Central California we have about an 8 Month season. Lake Membership: Family $2800 – with boat. Gas: average 8 - 6 pass sets @ 3-4 gallons per set 32ish total gallons per week x $4.26/gal (Avg. Supreme CA) - $136/wk. x 32 weeks = $4,352.00 Ski Equipment: possible new ski, ropes/handles vests, gloves, binding/binding parts, etc. $3,000. Membership $2800 Gas $4352 Equipment $3000 Total: $10,152.00 ÷ 8 = $1,269/Month NOTE: does not include tournament fees, gas to and from lake, Governing Body Membership fees, coaching fees, etc. Additionally, I really think the gas estimate is probably low as well as equipment fees; especially with a family. Yes, there are corners that can be cut here and there but on average this is what it looks like in my pocket book every month when skiing. Is it worth it? --- My addiction of skiing says yes, but it is a really expensive sport and it is getting harder and harder to justify it.
  8. One of the best skiers in the world, straight legs, with his rear leg on his toes, on one of the best skies ever made.
  9. @Than_Bogan; sorry for the confusion; however, I guess it is my interpretation of the all the pictures on this thread with his head looking down. I guess his eyes could be looking across to the next buoy; but based on his one ball, I am sure he was just trying to get the full two. Also, would not blame him for leaving it up to the judges to make the call.
  10. The person who had the best view of two ball was Nate.
  11. Speed of boat relative to the distance to buoys will be the same in either direction. I imagine the feel of the water would be more like hard water soft water. You could probably have a tailwind pass into the current and even feel slower? Crazy; much respect to all the competitors on the River.
  12. I ski with a boat that has the most recent software version; lock-in great and times very consistent. The only thing I notice is that it required remapping more frequently than ZO. pay attention to the beeps.
  13. I love the shirt; but I want my rainbow back.
  14. Check out keaton boats website. Has a few great pictures sent in by Art Smrekar with he and Kris LaPoint.
