Been on CL for a while.

The 96 SN is a great ski boat. Find a good used GT40, get the mechanical dialed in and have fun. You can cover the seat with towels or something for now. You’ll have many winters to worry about vinyl and carpet.

Those aluminum plates look nice on the Maha. I remember an article in WSM and maybe an interview during one of the pro tour TV broadcasts with Andy Mapple describing his hollowed out plates that allowed his feet to feel the ski. Recently I read somewhere that the G10 plates tested stiffer, more restrictive to ski flex than aluminum plates.

I love boats and skiing, but a submerged rail or cable engineered into a purpose built ski lake would be the ticket. Just need time and money.

96 SN is a great boat imo.

From my novice perspective, I’ve been studying videos of Terry, Nate and Brooke, and thinking about keeping my elbows pinned to my vest after the second wake while standing tall coming into the buoy. Just a few times this season I have felt the sensation of a ‘pull’ during the transition which was followed by more width and time than I would normally get. Again I’m not even close to the elite level of others in this thread, and think that @mrpreuss has a unique explaination of something that is elusive for many.

I’m 60, 6’2” and 170# and went from 34 to 32 two years ago to help preserve my body. I was on a 68” for ~ 25 years at 34 and this year I moved to a 68” Ion-s which is just a little wider than my previous few skis. Very happy with the move. A little easier getting up and it works for me better than any ski that I’ve ridden before.

So who’s going to start the lucky shorts thread :)

It depends on what octane is used.

So many asking prices are insane right now. I think bubble will pop in the next three to six to twelve months.

Kudos to Action and all of the sponsors! One of the best fundraising promotions in the sport in a long time.

I believe one of the Rouse family also runs a ski school on Deep Creek. We bought a 92 Pro Star promo from them some years ago.

That’s awesome!

We train behind a 97 PS and a 02 GTR 22, both with PP stargaazer, no Zbox. I didn’t notice a difference in the pull at a tournament with a new Prostar and ZO set on B2. I am a 32mph -15 to -32 off skier on a good day.
