  1. Wow, records r hard to come by,, congrads
  2. I’ve skied on the 17 and now the 2018 pro built,, the new one, I really like. Quick snappy turns on both sides.
  3. Looks great to me! Happy 50th MC
  4. Welcome Horton to Mastercraft. As a promo guy for 18 years, I have to say, it's great to have you on the team!
  5. Tom, you must go harder..... Meaning the slalom coarse requires a lot of energy and power on your pulling edge. Don't worry about your turns so much right now. Good luck
  6. I saw the topic on the guy who blew thru the slalom loops into -39. I thought I would tell the story of my son in law that just started on the coarse and just "got it". As a beginner on the coarse he really got the feel and eye for the sport. To me he has "cat balance" able to adjust quickly. He does get to watch a lot -35 and -38 on my lake, and I feel he is a guy who learns by Visual aids. His tempo, balance, ability to take coaching and apply it, makes him a quick learner. Actually he doesn't get to ski as much as one would think.... School and all. Sometime if it's been 2 weeks or so before he has skied things can get ugly. But after several days later his back in the grove. Plus it took him all of 3 months to beat my daughters score 5@22 off 34 was her best. She cool with it,,,, I'm happy I have another skier in the family. Oh he skis on my old stuff .... Started on a mapple and finished with a mid ride Can't wait til it warms up, we got skiing to do!
  7. I was at my last tournament of the year this weekend skied 1.5@38, 1.5@38 and 3.5@35... I wanted 3@38 didnt happen.. I'm hoping it does not take 5 or more years to learn -38... Im running out of years Thanks for all the helpful ideas.
  8. Ballers dont do as I did, been sking the coarse 18 years and I think I wasted the first 10 ... I mean i progressed as the years went... But with no coach, hand driving, bad speedo, bad drivers, no speed control and mainly bad form...I became a scraper, Speed control and the Internet changed the sport...I was able to study the sport to learn how to ski well.. Also going to ski events, getting involved makes one learn and want to improve.. Skier, study the sport and get around better skiers so you dont waste your summers. I ran 150 35's this years... I need 38 ! I want more.
  9. Learned that the ski really does matter...Its not always the skier, like you think it is.. nano1 baby!
  10. crazy when a boys 2 can ski into -39
  11. With a 97.67 score and not getting better as the summer moves on, I have tried slowing speed down several clicks (34.0) but still not making it thru the pass -38. so the other day I go -32,-33 .5,-35,-36, skied 3@38. The smaller jumps in line lengths makes it easier to step to the next level. I'm thinking it would be nice to be able to ski these lengths in a tournament. I take a old switch rope for the mid loop. My -36 was close to a -35... maybe i keep skiing the mid-loop and my -38 will get there. any thoughts?
  12. If you cant go as hard as you can thru the gates then u can be a good skier..
  13. all true and i saw Horton ski the other day... .... needs work .. sorry man
  14. Well after having the best month of skiing in my life i go to a tournament this weekend and failure erupts... most all of us have been there, but a few just seem to have good scores. You know them, maybe you practice with them.... they seem to always get it done! But our sport is build around failure, even if you ski your practice best (pB) you find yourself thinking man I should have got one more buoy, whats wrong with us. I think this is why some many skiers leave the sport, it's tuff and I'm pissed and ready to prove myself............... but alot of people just find something else to do. My wife says I'm crazy,,,,, It controls your life (not really).. but its important. I just wanta be like the guys that seem to get it done most of the times. My score this weekend 2@35,,, my average 2@38 .,,,,my practice average the last 2 weeks 3@38 .... Jroe, just get it done man !....
  15. I heard all the talk, seen the records of the 2012 season but it was not until baller #1 brought one to the lake. His a mid -32 skier and I saw changes right away for him, this guy was going to 5 ball at -35. I thought hum... I saw other skiers at tournaments on the nano1, I thought, it's for sure a good ski. Baller #2 on the lake has been trying many other brand skies for 2 years now, but not the nano1. Finally after no improvement he had the N1 sent out. His now improved his PB in practice 3 1/2@39 and tied his PB at tournament 2 1/2@39, plus his 38's at practice has really increased.... i had to try one. I put on my Baller's #1 N1 (left foot) I'm a right foot skier. Ran 1@38 never missed a pass. Then I skied on my other friends N1 (rt ft) did the same 1@38. So now I have my own''''''. I ran in practice 4@38 last week and I have had my ski for 8 days. The last time I skied like this was before zero off was around.. Have we found the magic carpet?
