  1. PM me. We have a club in Windsor where you don't need to own a boat.
  2. @horton 6.930, .730, 2.485 29.5 (67") Take all the angle you want and then a few degrees more and it'll be reward you for it!!!
  3. @Ilivetoski For me it would hunt for balance in the pre turn and then chatter out of the buoy on the offside. I'd say it was mostly due to new ski jitters but after a couple tweaks the comfort set in. This ski is ridiculously good!
  4. @ALPJr I have a 67" VT-R and also had an issue with porpoise/hop into and out of offside. @savaiusini suggested I reduce dft and add length and it pretty much cured the issue. I'm LFF 190 lbs and went to .730, 6.930, 2.495 29.25. The ski is delivering more and more confidence each time I ride it. It's the best Syndicate ski to date!
  5. Thanks @savaiusini I'll get a few more sets under my belt and keep you posted!
  6. I was able to ride the VTR this weekend. Coming off the '15 VT it is, as expected, a completely different ride. The VTR feels like it rides a lot deeper than the '15 VT and so the VTR feels more stable. There is a noticeable "shut down" out of the edge transition. It's not abrupt and there is no tip bite at the turn at all so it's a welcome characteristic but the VTR feels like more work and maybe not as fast as the VT. The VT had a lot more free glide in general whereas the VTR feels a bit sticky. Could just be setup...I hope. I'll be moving the bindings back a hair for sure. I suspect this ski is going to have a bigger sweet spot than the VT. Overall, it felt similar to my old NanoOne XT. It was the first set of the season for me and I didn't ski any buoys so it's not an honest assessment yet.
  7. @Tequespray The V type and VTR are obviously high performance short line skis. The unpredictable feeling you're getting is probably due to the high performance nature of the ski in combination with only being a skier for 14 months. You're bound to somewhat fight any high end ski no matter what it is if you're trying to develop the necessary habits to ultimately benefit from the high end models. If you're thinking about shelling out big bucks I would recommend selecting a ski that is designed to be predictable and stable. You'll learn and improve much faster doing it that way. Just my 2 cents.
  8. I skied a V-Type last season and really really like it. I'm not sure it was as well rec'd by the majority as it was by me but it is a great ski. I think it just got out hyped but can go toe to toe with any model out there on the water. I also have a VTR to try out but haven't skied it yet. I do know that although the two skis share similar nomenclature the VTR is not a refinement or revision of the V-Type. Comparing the two is apples to oranges. The VTR is brand new all the way around so it's more appropriate to compare it to all skis and not just the V-Type.
  9. @303Skier I think you need to support the local promo programs by buying a great used promo boat from your friendly neighborhood ski club. Solves all your problems and gets you brownie points!!!
  10. @gjohnson I want to say 10-12 weeks for full weight bearing and another 8 weeks of strengthening to the point I considered myself healed. I had the injury in the fall, snow skied early March and was waterskiing by late March. Don't try to avoid surgery. If it's "close" choose surgery over not. Do not hit the easy button when it comes to your feet or you'll regret it every step you take.
  11. I had a lisfranc. The injury should be black and white to diagnose so get a couple of opinions from the right doctors. Rear foot was out of binding 1/2 way when the tail of the ski blew out. When the tail hit the water again all the force was pushed into the ball of my foot causing the dislocation. This all stems from a desire to allow my heel to rise while skiing. I was in a boot not designed to allow that. I'm now on powershells because they are the most secure binding that sill allows the heel raise. Anyway....find a top notch foot, and only foot, specialist for surgery!!! Preferably a doc with football player experience as football players have lisfranc injuries a lot! I still have a pin in my foot but it's no problem and I'm 99% again. It's a long recovery injury but, again, find the best and most experienced surgeon you possibly can!
  12. Our site could be interested. Especially if, somehow, the winning site gets at least their $1000 back.
  13. @mmosley899 Whew! Doesn't sound like the end of the world! Thanks!
  14. I have an OB4 system still unused and in its shipping box but past the 30 day return. I don't know exactly what part is in question because I'm not looking at the system as I write this but do I really even need to look? I have a simple yes or no question. Is the piece that appears, by this thread, to commonly come apart critical to function and safety of this system?
  15. @scotchipman Maybe you're not at liberty to say but is it a case of Nick getting a better sponsorship deal or a case of liking the Vapor more? Nick was part of the Flextail R&D wasn't he?
  16. What's up with the mutiny of once loyal Goode soldiers in UT? Wow!
  17. @FCWaterSport You happen to be within 30 minutes of one of the premier tournament ski clubs in the nation. There isn't surfing or boarding but as far as slalom, trick and jump it's as good as it gets. As a bonus...the club has boats the members share. Send me a private message for more info. There are other nearby private sites that do allow surfing and boarding but you'll need your own boat.
  18. @Horton @skiboyny When I say set fin to stock and then move bindings I'm only talking about millimeters. I subscribe to the theory that it's really difficult to find the sweet spot for your own particular style, weight, height, etc. by adjusting the fin. I believe it's binding first to locate your own independent sweet spot then you can fine tune its responsiveness with fin tweaks.
  19. @skiboyny I would go back to stock fin and move the bindings forward or backward from stock until you have turn symmetry. From there move the fin if necessary but I bet you won't have too hardly at all.
  20. @MarcusBrown I'm really surprised at the one and done for the current model. Is there a reason?
  21. @skiboyny You should make a tweak cuz the onside on this ski is money! What's it not doing for you?
  22. @Texas6 @Shane @MS How tall and fat are you guys?
  23. I just ordered this system and expect it to arrive this week. This thread isn't giving me any warm and fuzzies that I should trust it. Is this system still in heavy R&D stage?
  24. @MattP I'd prefer not drilling any holes into my ski so if you have another suggestion I'm all ears. Thanks
