  1. @DaveD, my 12 year old asked for this ski for Christmas. Hard to not spend the money when he tries to ski every day. He's on a heavily repaired Connelly from the early 90s right now.
  2. Update as a reference for anyone on the big ski. Chris sent me these numbers to try 30 3/4 2.465 6.940 0.770 I started at 7 degrees but moved to 8. I flatten on my home lake because the water is slow. I will ski a different lake (really fast water) this weekend and prob ski 9 degrees. I also used my old bindings on my carbon sequence plate instead of the aluminum plates. Definitely helped. Offside is dialed in if I keep back shoulder pressure into the pre turn. This ski loves to turn.
  3. Thanks all. Chris Rossi sent me some numbers to try. I going to through the old bindings on as well.
  4. 47 yo 230 lb skier (ZO C2), generally get into -32 at 34 mph by mid summer. I have been skiing on a 2016 vapor 69.5" for the last 6 seasons. I have loved this ski but its pretty beat up and has over 500 sets on it. It was always been very numble and I am convinced it saved me from several OTFs. I purchased a 2022 Vapor Pro 69.5". I also bought the new vapor boots as my old ones are falling apart. I have it set up to factory settings 30.75" 6.860 2.485 0.765 7 degrees (Note I drop my wing angle to 7 degrees on my lake as the water is very turbid and slow. I go to 9 degrees at other sites). The ski feels like a plank. I struggle to get it to turn and seems very resistant to accelerate when I get a good turn and finish with good angle. Frankly, I do not trust it. I do not remember this tough of a transition from my '13 Strada to my '16 vapor. For reference, my '16 vapor settings: 30 15/16 6.975 2.455 0.760 7 degrees on my lake (9 everywhere else) Any advise on settings for the big ski? Thanks JJ
  5. Congrats Ed!!!!! Your portable course has turned our Norris Lake family vacation (which is actually 6 total families) into ski camp.
  6. My local dealer seems to only care about Ronix. I think they have an old radar union for sale from 2013.I did get a response from RADAR and they are sending a new BOA. :)
  7. Anyone having issues with the 2022 vapor boot boa. Mine popped off. I might have bumped it with my handle but nothing significant. I have only skied 6-7 sets in them. Do you guys think I have any recourse with Radar for repair or replacement? I emailed via their website this week and no response yet.
  8. Has anyone skied the 2022 Vapor ProBuild enough to give feedback. I'm on a 2016 vapor and looking to upgrade?
  9. I had a 03 Nautique 206. It slalomed very well except really slow speeds (under 25) for my kids. Footed great. Was just the right amount of wake when sacked up for wake and kneeboarding. I view that model as the best all around usage boat although my friends '19 Malibu TXI does it all very and is roomy. My 200 slaloms better, but we took a step back in barefoot, wake sports and general flow within the boat.
  10. We vacation at Norris Lake every summer. It is definitely a tourist take so staying up the clinch branch at the east end is where you want to be to ski. Surfers and tubers kill the rest of the lake. The Big Sycamore Creek area is generally pristine and where we have taught most of the kids in our crew how to barefoot. We bring a portable course as well. Our best setup has been behind Lakeview Marina but the east end of Big Sycamore creek was pretty good. There are two courses on the west end of Norris but the shorelines suck. We tried Flat Hollow marina this summer. We stashed the course behind the marina. It was satisfactory but not great in regards to backwash. I know another group that puts a course behind Norris Landing. I can't comment on the shoreline.
  11. My son has a baseball tourney in E town, but our hotel is in Louisville. Brett has a parking spot for me and offered a pull if I can work out the schedule between by kid's games and activities. I'll be there july 11th-15th.
  12. Is there anyone on BOS that has access to Paradise Lake near Elizabethtown, KY. I need a skier friendly place to keep my boat for a few days while I am there for a baseball tourney for my son and would prefer not to leave it at the hotel or drag it around. Thanks in advance!!
  13. Its easier to wakeboard a direct drive than it is to slalom a V-drive. Plus, smaller wakes for wakeboarding promote better technique for beginners developing skills such as carve to the wake, pop, landing, riding switch, etc without violent crashes from big wakes. I had a 2003 Nautique 206 that crossed over very well. Slalomed in 38 off, and wakeboarded well when sacked up. Footed well too.
