  1. Our ski jump in located outside of Houston so it is exposed to a ton of sun and heat. The surface has not been redone for 10 years. What are the common paint materials to put on a surface these days. What is best to protect from UV rays? We will power wash and clean the surface and side curtains before applying new product. Thank you.
  2. @Cnewbert , yes the pasture is fenced for horses. The pastured/fenced area for horses is approximately 20 of the 25 acres. Also, if you look at the barn, about 1/3 of it is setup with horse stalls and related elements to support a few horses.

  4. Beautiful 3 event ski site 1 hour west of Houston is on the market. Absolutely clear and clean water, private (8 water lots, 9 total), quite and in the country. The link below represents 2 lots that combined are 25 acres, set up for horses and has a shooting range. Great slalom course and jump ramp. Enjoy year around skiing, and you never have to wait in line to ski. Why am I posting this? I have owned a lot at Angel Lake for 20 years now, and my family is active slalom course skiers and jumpers. Angel Lake needs another "water ski family". Feel free to email me if you have any questions, miked@dunlapmarketing.com (I am not a realtor nor do I represent this property, I am just promoting the listing to the water ski community)........Mike Dunlap https://www.har.com/homedetail/1070-angel-lake-estates-rd-alleyton-tx-78935/1174243
  5. Kelvin, great job putting this together. Do you ever sleep?
  6. Not to take anything away for Dave's performance, but I award "skier of the day" to his wife Ann. She ran 3 tournament passes each of her 3 rounds. Anytime a guy can get his kids and wife to join him in skiing a tournament, I consider this an outstanding day. @MrJones, you also do a great job getting full family involvement. @ShaneH, I skied right after Dave and my warm up consisted of watching Dave do his actual warm up.
  7. His 35 was nice, and the 38 was even better, unbelievable tournament set for Dave. The Panneton's are an outstanding family.
  8. @Kelvin and Lisa, great job with the webcast. Thanks for bringing the tournament to all of us who are unable to attend. Jeff Greathouse, you have some talent with the microphone.
  9. I am in total agreement with @klindy about 3-eventing. If you have the time and site to train, it sure makes tournaments a lot of fun. It is common to ski 6 times in 1 day, heck of a deal. If you have taken care of your body, you are not too old, not even close. Get good jump coaching and be smart with practice. In my opinion you already have an advantage if you know how to trick. Downside - sure is a lot of gear to haul around!!!!! Have fun.
  10. @AlbertaTex, prevailing south winds travel up a slope about a 1/4 mile before the lake and then there is a 3' berm along the shoreline, anything below 10 - 12 mph wind is pretty much a non issue. @zippin_2, we pull our water from about 400' down. For a Texas lake we are very fortunate that we do not have a water problem. Natural sand filtering, carp and lake dye help keep the water clean and clear.
  11. @skidawg, anytime you want to ski Angel Lake you are welcome, @darwin knows where we are. I'll have the boat ready.
  12. ShaneH, you and the boys up on the northside need to come ski with me this fall. Water quality at Angel Lake is as good as ever.
  13. I am a property owner at Angel Lake, it is a great site if you don't mind a brief drive from Houston, Bryan/College Station, Austin or the San Antonio areas. I will be happy to give any baller a pull through the course if you have interest. The lake is very private and you almost never have to wait your turn.
  14. If you don't mind driving a bit southeast (2 1/2 hours) we should be skiing on the west side of Houston that weekend, unless the weather is bad. On GoogleEarth look about 50 miles west of Houston and you will see a site called Angel Lake. We will be happy to give you a few pulls behind a 08 196.
  15. ETEXAG contact me and we can ski at Angel Lake sometime, it is my home lake. The site is about 5 miles (as the crow flies) east northeast of Columbus. Very nice clean water so you don't have to worry about the salt!!!! mdunlap at dunlapmarketing dot com
  16. For private sites, on the westside of town you have Lakes of Katy and Angel Lake. Both are very good sites but you need to be a guest. Send me a private message and I might be able to help.
  17. Crashman - great idea on giving pulls to the kids and teams. I pulled a college ski team weekly as my site was fortunate enough to have plenty of water. Not only do they benefit from the pulls and a good boat, most likely you can offer coaching tips, its all good for them. At our ski site, it is required that every guest sign a waiver and I always did. I also maintained high levels of boat coverage and general liability, so I felt protected. I didn't expect much from my USA Water Ski membership because these activities were not sanctioned events. Bottom line - if you have resources, a ski site, equipment, time - offer it as the teams will most likely benefit. My common response to those who offered to pay for gas was, "thanks for the offer, you keep it, get a good education, get a good job and when you raise your own kids, pass on the sport to them."
  18. As a point of reference as to the value of your old equipment - after attending probably 20 college tournaments over the last 4 years..........my guess is 70% of the college athletes do not have any equipment so they all share skis, vests, helmets, jump suits, handles, etc. Your old "trash" becomes a "treasure" for these kids. Things commonly needed are short jumpers, trick skis (doubles and single), binders, slalom skis, vests, ropes, handles, etc. A creative college team will present a starting lineup that includes kids entering the slalom course on jumpers or wake boards (easier to learn to run an opening pass). Trick passes will include wake boarders. In many cases, a kids first attempt at jumping is when they show up at their first tournament. Team scoring is uniquely different than what we all see at our weekend events. From a money standpoint, I have seen kids with great potential not participate in a college event because they could not afford the entry fee or cost to join ASWA. Amazingly teams seem to cobble together enough money to buy a team boat (usually without ZO) and secure a location to practice. Often practice sites requires a fair amount of driving distance. When they travel to tournaments they pack 8 to 10 kids into a single hotel room, and God bless the hotel that offers a free breakfast!!! My suggestion - go to a fall college tournament next month, I promise you will be entertained beyond words, and you will get a great feel of the importance of collegiate skiing. In many cases its the introduction of our sport to the next generation. Hopefully you will also get a better feel of the challenges that some kids and teams have to overcome to become tournament water skiers.
  19. TF, thanks for your fundraising efforts and thanks for bringing awareness to prostate cancer. I am 53 and had my prostate removed 10 months ago. I highly encourage Ballers to do regular PSA testing (once a year) if you are over 50, and if you have family history start much earlier. Early detection is huge, especially if you want to avoid advanced stages of cancer. With early detection the removal and recovery process is not that big a deal, especially if you keep yourself in good shape. There is a lot of discussion in the news about the value of PSA tests, I think they are important as they allow you to establish a baseline for future comparison. Interesting data point, 1 out of 9 women will get breast cancer, 1 out of 8 men will get prostate cancer. Don't stick your head in the "buoy", be proactive with regular testing.
  20. jfw432 - I have the upgraded light gray seadeck and have not seen any fading at all. After the boat has been used I clean it and put the cover on, so it is not sitting in the sun. The seadeck is very easy to clean and it does not seem to get hot. Another benefit of seadeck is it drys very fast. Klundell - I can't publish pricing based or promo program requirements, Pls go to ski-it-again in the promo boat section and look up number SIA19786. From there you can contact me. Its a great boat with a great price and you will enjoy the slalom pull. shoeskiman - Come to Houston and I will gladly pull you behind the Carbon Pro. The boat will also be working a few local tournaments around the Houston area in Sept, this is another way to justify a trip!!!!! The PCM 5.7 does not create any abnormal engine noise, I consider this a none issue.
  21. I am a promo guy with a 2012 Carbon Pro in Texas, the boat has worked about 12 tournaments this season and now has 80+ hours. It will be working 4 or 5 more events before the season ends. 98% of skiers enjoy the pull and probably 75% of drivers like it. Ski performance ranges from beginners and into 39 off, and jump distances into the 160's. The sea deck floor is great, easy to keep clean and drys fast. Storage is plentiful behind and below the observer seat and along the sides of the boat. My boat has never been on public lakes but I can only imagine the ride would be rough in choppy water, like any 3-event boat. The bimini folds up and can rest on the engine box for storage, but is very easy to remove by pulling 2 pins. My cover fits on the boat with the bimini folded up. From a quality / construction point of view, the Carbon Pro has held up nicely. The interior, seats, instruments, exterior finish still look like new and the PCM 5.7 has performed as expected. Centurion did not cut corners on building the boat, they just left off some of the fancy finish out details. There were a few small changes from 11 to 12 and I don't know yet how the 13 might change. From a value perspective you will save $10K but you wont give up quality and performance. As soon as I sell my 2012 I will order my 2013.
  22. ski4xtc - I took delivery of my 2012 Carbon Pro in March as a promo guy in Texas. The options available are pretty simple, and it seems to boil down to how/where/when you and your friends use the boat. 1)heater choices - the heater blower and heated seats are great if you use the boat in colder temps, if you don't, save the money. 2) single vs. dual axle trailer - does the boat sit on a lift or do you trailer it a bunch (at longer distance)? If it sits on a lift or you trailer short distance, get the single and save the money. 3) radio options - this was pretty simple because my daughters made the decision to get it and I didn't get a vote. 4)flooring options - pick a lighter color as it may not get has hot in direct sun. 5) engine - unless you are pulling elite jumpers the PCM 5.7 is great, if elite jumping is important you may consider the PCM 6.0. Support the promo guys and consider purchasing one of theirs. With a promo boat you still receive the full warranty, a boat in very good condition with maybe 100 hours, at a great price. You can see my listing on Ski-it-again, Post ID SIA19786. At the home page select the Promo Boat link.
