  1. I do now, after ten years of not doing it and finally getting it out, well worth the trouble to remove and grease somewhat regular.
  2. a few ski lakes in reno too! All private or club lakes though.
  3. figured it out snapped 1 intake valve spring. should have compression tested first. Thanks
  4. so, unplugging the IAC it didn't want to start at all, I tested and it moves back and forth. Unplugging the newish TPS it ran almost better than plugged in hard to tell but .58-3.85v's through the throttle range, seemed a bit low at full throttle swapped out another tps and it didn't help. I also noticed that the distributor is mildly loose can turn by hand but doesn't move on its own easily, so I don't think that is it. @BraceMaker how do you know if it is mefi 4 or 5
  5. oil looks fine, no water I didn't know the TBI had an IAC, is it built into the housing?
  6. I have 2004 indmar tbi 350 yesterday it started running poorly it happened suddenly just cruising at around 2500 rpm. 1.It won't start unless I give it a lot of gas, and it will barely idle around 500 2.Blowing lots of smoke while doing it 3. when it is idling it is quite rough and on the verge of dying. 4. All 8 plugs were wet black and sooty What I have done. 30 psi fuel pressure but it bleeds off as soon as I turn key off, not sure if it should keep the pressure for a few minutes Injectors are spraying a normal spray. replaced the ignition control module, even tested it, but that didn't help tried a different map sensor, nothing.. New plugs, wires and cap/rotor are all fairly new and look fine. I haven't done a compression test mostly because all 8 cylinders looked identical. There is no odd noise except for the engine sounding like it has a giant vacuum leak. Any thoughts and Ideas would be great. should fuel pressure bleed off that quickly with the tbi? thanks Todd
  7. @matthewbrown any roots style supercharger can be making 10-15lbs of boost at 3500. and fuel requirements for a boosted engine vs NA are substantial just to make the same HP . Boosted injectors need to be 20% larger just to make an equal amount of hp. So comparing boosted and NA engines isn't a very a viable one especially at WOT. Amongst start up enrichment and a few other things. there are three main tables that modern computerized engines use: VE Timing AFR and you can put in any values you want, depending on how you want the engine to run. The manufacturers have built in timing retard based on octane rating, the drop in HP is there. But, not because of lack of fuel/octane itself it is because of a computer program written by someone to protect the longevity of the engine. Don't blame the fuel blame the programmers.
  8. @dchristman dang, I should have looked at the other picture it is much more obvious. :) actually it is impressive that you didn't make it to shore.
  9. I think the first frame says it all. Notice how your chest is way out in front of your hips and your left leg is already straight. Three things to fix: Stay leading with the hips not the chest Have your COM over the ball of your foot Flex the knee, not straight for maximum pop I really believe you could have made it to the shore. But keep trying I really think you can get there!! Oh, one more thing I really love the knee drive that is exceptional, kinda natural talent I have to think.
  10. @kurtis500 and @Than_Bogan Many of the poles from spirit are wrapped with s glass, which also makes them more expensive, and their high end poles. Mostly because the s glass is stronger and can use a smaller mandrel also feel lighter, which helps the mental part This also gives them different characteristics. I jumped on a few of the original carbon poles from pacer back in the 90's and they sucked. They would recoil way to fast for me, was that real or imagined?. Other vaulters loved them and jumped well on them. Poles like skis have a specific way they are made and each individual athlete has a physical as well as technical style that leans them in one direction or another. I also knew guys who could jump high on any pole, just like some skiers can ski amazing on any ski. Pole vault poles have a sail piece to control bend charasteristics. Maybe someone needs to build a "leafspring" into the middle of the ski, it could control or manipulate lots of variables.
  11. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwj7lYzSlr3tAhUB5rMKHUz9BFEYABALGgJxbg&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAASEuRoRsDDKD0mnK3EaZP-S1Amdg&sig=AOD64_1cUwFL0OrYI_8okz-s6I3n1gLvag&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwi284TSlr3tAhWJq1kKHWPsAlMQwg96BAgBECc&adurl= Could be modified to relase and with some sub bouy adjustments releasing the 6 turn balls could sink it more than enough to keep out of prop range
  12. @Minelickskier does it go on thick or more like a paint/stain Did you mix it with something or it came with it?
  13. If you have used this type of material and which brand Let me know what you think Also how is the wet traction? I am hoping it is good Thanks
