  1. Had a 91 with a slot. Rebuilt the original 240hp to 315hp for the last 500hrs or so. I loved that boat! Wish I still had it. This pic is from the guy I sold it to in Mississippi. Still going strong.
  2. Got out a few times this month at Timber Cove. The last being the 30th. Thanks Randy!
  3. I’m a -28/32 skier. At 60 I’m getting a little impatient to get better faster. I’ve dabbled with videoing sets with a camera mounted with a stationary mount on the windshield. Now I’m thinking about buying a ski doc pylon mount because the wide angle required for the windshield mount makes the skier appear in another zip code. I wonder if the orbit is worth the extra $90 and if so why. Is it smoother? More functional? Also wondering if the money would be better spent on lessons from a good coach. Planning to do that at least once this year, maybe twice. Unfortunately I’m on limited funds and I already bought a new ski this year.
  4. Insta slalom is out of the Abilene area. The guy who builds it has a ski lake southwest of town near Buffalo Gap. He used to have a course on it. Maybe you can work something out with him. Tige has a plant in Abilene. I believe Phantom is fairly full right now. If it’s full now it’ll be skiable all 2021. It’s a rough lake, runs north-south. I grew up on that lake. Back then it was only the wind and fisherpeople that ruined good skiing. You get one or two wake boats on that lake there’ll be no where to hide. Good fishing and sailing there. Don’t wear anything white. The clay bottom turns everything reddish orange.
  5. @Orlando76 , I’ll trade :) JK. I do love my Tacoma. It does have power and oversized brakes to handle the job but it’s a little light in weight. I’m very thankful for good trailer brakes!
  6. It’s a little undersized but fortunately it only pulls two trips; in the spring to the lake, with covered dock and lift, and in early winter home to the garage.
  7. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Boat_3Event&postid=51417 Might be a little far from you. My biggest fear on this boat is if you have to trailer it every time you go out. From my limited exposure it seems there are few trailers the 200 really like. Other than that I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better family ski boat than this one.
  8. That's a beautiful boat! You will not be disappointed!
  9. After watching most of these vids I've decided somehow it's not helping me feel safe out there.
  10. I think I'm gonna go with; 1) keeping as much water out of the boat as possible, 2) leaving cowl open while getting ready to leave, 3) prop corners of cowl with a couple 1× 4s and, 4) a small box fan. Along with the Sunbrella top. If I have moisture problems I'll modify with either a Golden Rod in the engine compartment and/or the DryWave. Thanks for all the input!
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I have a Sunbrella cover. Towards the end of last season I started using the beach towel across back carpet method. The last 16 years I've had a 91 ProStar where the PP was the only real electronics in there. Sometimes the guages in that boat would fog a little at first set. Just bought the 200 last Oct. I have no desire to replace the electronics in it if it's something I could've avoided, ever!
  12. I live about an hour from where I ski. Boat lives on a dock with a covered lift. As much as I would like to air it out 2 or 3 hours before covering it and returning home that is seldom the case. Normally I leave the cowl open about 30 minutes while I wipe it down, change clothes and load up. Then I cover the boat with a breathable cover and head home. I make an effort to keep as much water out of the boat as possible and I've been using that DampRid stuff with some degree of efficiency but I occasionally find signs of moisture . I've heard of people using electrical dehumidifiers but I worry about leaving electric devices running while I live an hour away. I'm also concerned about keeping all the electronics dry on my Team 200. I'm interested in hearing what others are doing, safely and effectively.
  13. I'm at about 8 sets with my first shorty Blacktec. Last time out I found one of those pinch mark debits, first one. It isn't all the way through.... yet. Anyone ever try to seal those back up with silicone or something? I understand it's a fragile suit but I'd like to help it last as long as possible. Side note, I'm probably done using it this year.
  14. This is all good stuff. Ya'll have given me hope.
  15. Might have to be one of these to protect skegs.
  16. The problem with my Roadrunner is similar to Pat M's except my chines don't rest on the bunks, they're suspended in front of the front bunks. When I launch the boat can slide down until the chines hang on the leading edge of the bunks and will hold the boat until I go deeper with the trailer. The only way to clear is to float it off. I've only launched and loaded once so I don't have a lot of experience with this combination but I've heard from others how rough it is and now I see it. I'm getting a crash course. Was also thinking about a Phoenix trailer but am hoping to find a modification that will make it more functional, something like what A_B and skiinxs have mentioned. Anything to avoid damage to the hull. And as a way of doing things I'd rather not sink my truck axle to release the boat. Trailer has 225 75D15s on it now. What about putting on some 225 70R15s? That would lower the whole thing a little. Seems like I saw an alternate, smaller tire listed in a manual somewhere. PITA but it's such a great boat and I want to take care of it.
  17. Would like to he able to safely and efficiently load/launch alone if necessary but I believe those days have passed. The boat will spend most of its time on a lift but I'm used to bringing my boat home for the winter and maintenance. We'll see. Thx for the input.
  18. To revisit this discussion. I recently purchased a 200 with a Roadrunner trailer that acts like the trailer described above. When I load the bow dips under the bow roller and when I launch the chines snag on the forward edge of the front bunks. I was thinking about modifying the trailer to make the front bunks longer so the chines will land on the top surface of the bunk and mounting a V stop in place of the roller so the bow won't have anything to be under. I understand without the roller lifting the bow it might ride lower. Don't know if that is bad or not. It might help the launch. Has anyone ever tried something like this?
  19. My dad had a nice wood custom made Rail. It's the only one I've ever seen. Don't know how but it got busted up pretty good. Don't know what ever happened to it. Other than that, we all had cypress gardens.
