  1. The first thing I checked on the website was seeing if TWBC was going to be there... and YES, YES THEY ARE!!! Looking forward to watching!
  2. I really like the Pro Coach series videos @Luzz and @MarcusBrown are producing - thanks fellas! Excellent visual and discussion content IMO. I'm one of those skiers that definitely compresses too much prior to the first wake and very compressed after the absorbtion of the wakes leading to a delayed opportunity to get my COM over my knees and ankles in the transition. I feel like this is causing me to lose outbound direction and I'm also sacrificing handle control in that phase. I like how MB references at what point the top of the ski can be seen from the boat camera view to help identify pulling too long, too compressed or a combo of two. I went back and reviewed my skiing videos after watching their breakdowns of Freddie, Cole, Allie & Brooke. I have been striving to get taller in my stack, less compressed and now I'm going to verify where my feet are with respect to the rope plane in the acceleration phase. I feel like I'm really trying to achieve many of those but my video from last Fall is proving otherwise. I guess my real question is - can I fully commit to those stance goals skiing behind an older boat that has bigger & stiffer wakes than what we see in these reviews with the pro skiers? Obviously they are skiing behind great boats. I'm skiing behind my 2000 MB-190, which I love but there's a pretty big difference. My opening pass is 34/22 and by late Spring - I'm getting a 2 or 3 at 35off but that's about where my wall has been for a couple years. I've run 35 one time in practice and got the glorious 1 at 38! I think I may have a mental barrier silently telling me if I get taller on my ski and COM forward more so I'm in an athletic stance, feet behind the rope in the accerlation phase - I'm going to superman out to the next buoy. I feel like I've got an agressive style but I think that translates to leveraging too hard in the cut, pulling too long because I'm slightly back on my ski and losing connection in the transition. I may have to try the "trim" technique MB highlights with Cole - lol. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. I plan to visit with both MB and Terry this season for some coaching. I do have to admit my water time has been ridiculously limited the past couple seasons due to kids sports, coaching, work, etc. I'm done making those excuses and my boys, my wife and I are all committed to getting more time on the water this season! Fire away! Disclosure... no I'm not going to post video - too damn embarrassed
  3. I also switched from wrong grip to correct grip a few seasons ago. I'm RFF and right palm down now. I worked on muscle memory and feel in the off-season by dry land training - leaning/leveraging on the handle. I did this about 5-10 minutes a day a few days a week. Once I was back on the water in the Spring - I felt comfortable after 1 maybe 2 sets. My offside leverage/lean was the biggest improvement with shoulders way closer to level in comparison to wrong grip offside leverage/lean. My stack improved and my speed into the 1st wake improved. I'm attacking the 1st wake now rather than bracing for the 1st wake because I feel more balance and centered on the ski.
  4. Any new video or current event at the top is a good addition in my book!
  5. Scores were incredible in the men's final. 3-way tie with 5 @ 10.25 and to come back out at 10.75 for the runoff... so fun to watch! Ladies put up some great scores as well over the three rounds. I was the one who opened this thread but I 100% admit that you can't argue with the performances in slalom and jump!
  6. Good point @"Pat M" - the scores are right in line with Swiss
  7. I'm a big fan of MC boats, all the innovation and if I was in the market to buy new it would be a MC but I noticed on the webcast of the MC Pro (men's round-1) that so many skiers appear to be edge changing in the air. Tony mentions this a couple times... think it was Sean's set that I remember distinctly but I just thought I saw a lot of that with many skiers. When I took notice - I also thought most of the times I saw it was at lines 11.25 or shorter. I didn't notice this during Swiss Pro, Travers GP or Malibu. Anyone else feel this was happening more than usual? Thoughts?
  8. And Corey is the tallest 5'9" guy I've ever seen too
  9. @Horton fell into a similar boat being a forever member to 24hr Fit but gave up waiting. I've been a gym rat for a long time. I'm not the fittest guy - I simply work out to drink beer or just kinda maintain. I gear my workouts towards skiing. I just recently purchased a functional trainer. I like these machines because I can work any muscle groups and with many different exercises (doesn't get boring). I like cable cross over machines because (1) I don't need a spotter (2) it's easy on my joints with smooth action. I bought an adjustable bench to go with this machine that is incline/flat/decline adjustable. I love this machine! Cost around $2.5k on Amazon.
  10. I've been on Radar Vapor skis the past few seasons (2016 and been on the 2017 for the past 2 seasons). I had my T-Factors on both before going to Vapor bindings. Both Vapor and T-Factor bindings will work on D3 and Radar skis.
  11. @dbaconaz I used T-Factors front & rear for a few years before transitioning to Vapor's. T-Factors are nice and rigid on lateral movement - meaning they respond really well to my input. They do allow pretty good forward movement and restrict neutral-to-back stance which is good. They hold up well when properly stored out of the sun. I do like my Vapors better but T-Factors are not far behind. I have heard people say that the width of the boot is tight for those that have wide feet - which can cause some cramping discomfort. I'd have that feel early in the season with cool water temps. For rubber, open toe bindings - I'd say they are one of the best out there.
  12. @jyjr - I've got an in-dash Accuski v8 that I haven't used in years since installing PP w/Stargazer. If you are still in need of one - let me know. I'd be happy to sell it to you.
  13. Appreciate it @DW! A couple of minor issues with the wrap. The pro installer wrapped it right up to the rub rail. Everything above the rub rail is stock. Had one issue with the water from the trunk lid that tried to escape down through the stock drainage (just underneath the rub rail on the transom) it created a bubble so just had to poke a hole for it to drain out and squeegee the trapped water out. Other minor issues just with trailering on/off where the wife came in pretty slanted and hit the runners on the trailer pretty good. The wrap just goes to the side edge of the bottom so the wrap will shred little slivers off but I just apply a clear 3M vinyl coating the pro installer recommended to prevent those slivers from turning into a major peel or rip. Color quality of the wrap has sustained really well. They put a clear, transparent coating over the wrap. Water spot removal is also way easier to manage as the wrap isn't pourous and spots don't penetrate. The installer told me if I took good care of it and waxed it - should last 7-years or so. So I've made it beyond that and I think I've got another 5-years. And yes, I'd do it again when the time comes. I paid cash $1600 for print and install. They used Terry's graphics file and just tweaked a little for edging and streching they anticipated. This wrap and install company was recommended by Sunset Lakes (previous owners) from Galt, CA. They had their new promo wrapped each year. Guessing the costs are up quite a bit from then but I'd definitely do it again if I were to keep this boat for another 5-10 years.
  14. Does anyone know if there is video footage available of the Waterski_Nation head-to-head series? I wasn't able to follow the initial couple of head-to-heads live on Instagram so I was hoping to find some video of TGas, Nate and others.
  15. Still loving my 2000 MB! One of my collegiate teammates from Chico State - her dad worked for the MB promo team back then and made me a deal on a brand new one right out of college that I couldn't refuse. A ton of great memories with this boat and more to come. Thanks to @twhisper for his wrap design. The wrap is going on year 8 and still looks good!
  16. Devils advocate here and it's been touched on a bit already... - What if the tournament doesn't have an announcer... how do spectators keep up with the skiers decisions and what lengths they are running (already an issue with standard format tourney's) - Would be great for the skier on the water to have those options but I feel the energy of the tournament would feel more like watching the 20 skiers in front of you at practice (nap time) - It would be nice if local area tournament hosts from different sites were able to coordinate different class tournaments for common weekends so F, C, L & R could all be an option for skiers. F tournaments already have formats similar and guarantee 4 pass minimums. That's great for the newbies wanting to get a taste. - To add spice say at a 3-rd tournament how about having 2 standard rounds and create 4 or 5 brackets of never made groups. Each group (not age or sex based). Skiers goes out at 1-pass below their never made pass. Short sets but fun & entertaining and the body is already beat up anyway so I really don't want 6-passes on the 3rd round. Reminds me of one of @MarcusBrown favorite career highlights of running 10.75 cold and in the dark. Nobody expected anyone to run that pass cold but when it happened it became legendary! Could create that moment for someone unexpecting to run their never made pass - nearly cold!
  17. @MarkW - check out ski-it-again.com... pretty much the best site for used water ski's plus a whole lot more boat/ski gear
  18. I think sideways is one good way to put it. From a guy in his mid 40's who grew up water skiing at an early age, skied in college, got my family of four hooked years ago and a member at a ski lake - I see two glaring trends. One, the collegiate scene is so awesome right now and thanks to people like @MarcusBrown, BallofSpray social media and other outlets -- sharing stories, photos & videos! I feel like the popularity at that level is really on the rise! I'm also seeing a tremendous amount of young talent (ages 6 - 18) which is awesome for the future of the sport. But the second trend is my fear and that's the cost of equipment - primarily boats & skis. That trend scares me -- wondering if post graduates can stay in the game (financially).
  19. Been some mention about the PS-190 so I gotta give a shout out to another boat that has very similar characteristics and that's the 2000 MB Sports Boss-190. I got this boat as a promo from Kent Garret as soon as I graduated from Chico State. 18-years later and I still love it! No mechanical issues, added PP SG w/Zbox and she still performs like the day I got her minus the damn Accuski (that system sucked). I did spice her up with a new skin a few years back - design credit goes to @twhisper. I'm always checking for good deals on a SN-200 or MC post 2014... one of these days I'll bite and get one but honestly haven't been in a hurry because this MB gets the job done for me and my family. But, if someone out there makes me an offer I can't refuse - I may be ready to pull the trigger on a newer one. It only has about 750hrs, 95% private lake time!
  20. I vote to add comedian Bob Marley to the announcers booth -- I could listen to him all day. Maybe not for The Master but a venue that allows him to use his full vocabulary range
  21. @disland - I just noticed you are on the property to so feel free to comment on my post above. Appreciate it - cheers!
  22. @lathompson - curious about a couple things I was hoping you can provide some info on. 1) How much are HOAs? 2) How do homeowners communicate who is skiing next or create a running order when multiple skiers are wanting to ski around the same time? I come from a club where we all gather on the same dock so we create a running order. I'm sure whatever method is pretty common for multi-family homes on a private lake - but just curious. My family really has interest in this listing so a job hunt is currently underway  - thanks for the feedback!
  23. The information and visual references in this thread are fantastic - thank you guys for that ;)! In @DefectiveDave last diagram and as I'm visualizing and thinking of my gate queues - I tend to think of the "active-extension" just prior to the matching of boat/skier speed. I feel like once the boat/skier speed is near equal and I then reach and turn in - that I feel separated (elbows out/away from ribs) and battle that separation to CL. That's why I try to reach when I'm slightly above the green dotted line so by the time I'm picking up load - I'm better connected. @adamhcaldwell - any comments or suggestions about that timing (reach before below boat speed or reach after below boat speed)?
  24. Have any of you guys tried the Camaro gloves? Those gloves are amazingly warm in cold conditions. For me, they truly make my hands feel warm in 50 degree water. In the cold water season - I wear a pair of those under my alternate (larger than normal) gloves. The only downside I've had with wearing the Camaro's underneath a larger pair of regular gloves is muscle fatigue in hands & wrist as they need to be snug fit. I got the gloves from Robby's Ski Shop @waterskigirl a few years ago and they still look and feel new. I think they are 1.5mm but I don't see them offered on her site anymore.
  25. @AdamCord If he doesn't announce at a pro event... how about just selecting a few skiers for him to roast on a Saturday night during a BOS event? Sell tix and after his cut - push the rest towards the skiers purse. This guy is money and his addiction to the sport we all love just makes the material that much better. Good stuff right there... cheeks are flippin sore!
