  1. Settle as early as you can for the course. look at the end of the course. It easier to keep things in perspective when you look up. A guy that used to train airforce pilots said that he used to tell his young pilots look at the horizon and look for a landmark. It stopped you looking at the gauges and making lots of adjustments, only glance in the mirror to check your line is straight. have fun

  3. Yardsale of course would be shortened to Yardi.
  4. TRA and a Lyric for our family, because they liked the graphics. We were only going to be free skiing. If I was do again knowing that tournament skiing was in the future I would get a 63 D3, Radar, Connolly
  5. I estimate around 40,000 to 50,000 words have been typed on this subject hope you folks have it worked out now.
  6. To play devils advocate isn't the runoff just an extension of the 1st round and therefore counts as a world record? You could argue runoffs are more akin to an equipment failure where you get time (3 minutes) to fix the problem then can ski the round not everyone get this advantage/disadvantage but your scores still counts, or re-ride for hitting a duck.
  7. I like how the cops are about to pull it over for speeding
  8. Just asked my teenage son, who skis at a reasonable level if he watches water skiing on online. No, he would rather watch wakeboarding. Slalom is boring who wants to watch someone ski around six buoys. Jumping is not bad and he likes tricks but would rather watch tricks live. What skiing is up against is best summed up in his last comment “I would rather watch wakeboarding its cool”
  9. TRA and Rada Lyric here. We just brought our kids skis they liked the look of as I figured it was more important to like and want to ski than the result. My son skied the TRA from around six/seven to twelve years of age. He was skiing 18m at 49km and 52km when he finished on the TRA. Probably should have moved him off it a year or two earlier in hindsight. The more difficult decision is what to get when they get to the end of the TRA capacity Radar, D3, Connelly, what level and length new, second hand.
  10. "Asking for a friend" yep we have all heard that before.
  11. Interesting observations on coaching styles in this thread. The bad, I see ex wrong, don’t do this. The good, make this change it will do this. Continue on folks
  12. Greek gods names ( or Roman something that you can have a family line) Zeus Apolo Possiden
  13. I thought this post was going to be “Your a Tournament Skier” if? You see a creek and think can you fit a corse in there. You wonder if owning a boat is more important than owning a home.
  14. Had an ex cable park wood trick ski with an aluminium fin, that thing whistled so loud that the first time it whistled I though someone from shore was trying to get our attention.
  15. Do I win a prize for predicting this topic? https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/25023/us-gear-handles
  16. I put wetsuits (also vests) in a front loader on wool/gentle cycle with regular washing powder. I did wear a hole in a dive wetsuit years ago in a top loader. The wetsuit floated (as you would expect) and got wedged between the agitator and the lid.
  17. A long time ago I read a theory that kids should be involved in a team sport for all that’s good and bad about being accountable to team mates, team success and failure. They should also be involved in an individual sport, running, swimming, tennis etc as it is likely to be these sports that they continue with later in life as you don’t need to find a team to play.. My child competes in barefoot and three event as a young teen. The challenge is water time for training for any of the disciplines and for barefoot the lack of kids his own age to hang out with at tournaments making it a less fun day. The harsh reality is that you can spend all day at a tournament for 15 minutes skiing or ski all day at a public lake just having fun.
  18. TRA to 32mph from age 6-12 this ski worked well. See quite a few on the D3 Evo now but skiing at higher levels.
  19. “Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”
  20. Scott Chipman was here Talon was here I am here
  21. Any boat discussion will see the Nautique fan club claiming the bubble back is the boat. Someone will ask if US Gear is still making handles. Anytime someone posts on a new ski they are riding the second or third comment will be settings? I will still come straight to the forum section of the website and be surprised at what is on the home page when I accidentally go there
  22. Should be okay I am size 11 with high arch and reasonably wide feet. I found the XL a bit too tight across the top.
  23. That thing @JoelHowley rides must perform well!!!
