@Fine409 @Mastercrafter not sure why you think Skips cover is not breathable. Mine has 2 vents and is always covered. We are in Central Florida and as everyone knows the humidity is off the charts. FYI, easiest cover available to put on, takes less than 30 seconds with only 1 person. Skip will explain how to put it on.

@Fine409will the boat be left in the water with the cover on? If not call Skip Dunlap 863-605-0340. He has the best cover in the business for less than $500. Tell him Jim sent you. He may actually have this cover in a rub rail length. These covers last forever.

Coming into 3 and 5 just before the buoy it looks like he’s pulling on the handle. Some call it advancing on the boat. Awesome handle control.

Everyone gets caught up in the price of a NEW boat. I can remember when we thought the world was coming to an end when the price hit 50K. Remember when Goode came out with the first slalom ski that sold for $1000.00? We are now at $2,500. Ski gloves can cost $100! Somehow, someway boating enthusiasts seem to have no problem dropping 350k to 500k for wake boats. When I was at the Ford dealership having my truck serviced the going price for a loaded F250 diesel is 94k and there was a 5K bump on top of that. Back in the day there were skiers that couldn’t afford a brand new boat no different than now. The buyers that have to have the first year model change or can afford to buy a new boat every year or two are the ones that create the domino effect on the used boat market to make it feasible for others. Trying to put everything in perspective, rent is ridiculous and who would have ever thought that when buying a house you would bid up from the asking price not down. I think a big reason for the lack of sales for three event boats stems from private lakes where one ski boat may be shared by 20 or 30 homeowners. Also ski clubs and ski schools where you pay a membership, way cheaper than owning a boat! Also what one of the other posters stated, try permitting a course or jump on a public lake. If you do happen to get a permit upkeep on the course is ridiculous. Also, on public lakes you deal with jet skis and wave runners. Good luck trying to get a set in! Kind of crazy but I would like to see a graph of when the jet skis became popular and the downturn of skiing.

MyZone is the best workout monitor. $149 one time charge, you get the App and the chest heart monitor (MZ-3). I use this for Mountain Biking, Spinning and running. They make a MZ Switch that is waterproof that I use for skiing. This is only used during the activity. Super accurate. The app is linked to your phone or tablet. IOS or Android. You can monitor it real time. Heart rate, calories, percentage. You have to be an extremely devoted and driven person. MyZone tracks your progress and if you don’t meet your MEPs ( MyZone Effort Points ) for the month you drop back a status. I’ve been consistent going on 7 years. You will also find MyZone being used in some gyms where your MyZone performance tile is on the monitors in the spin room where you can see everyone’s progress and complete against others. For every day 24 / 7 tracking I use a Garmin MK2i watch. It is actually a watch/dive computer. Best fitness watch made but it comes at a steep price $2500.00

When we sink our Accufloats here in Florida it is because a hurricane is coming. We have 2 Accufloats and 2 surveyed courses. All we do to sink the course is remove both boat lane buoys and the turn buoy, the antifreeze jug that is attached directly on the PVC between the inside boat lane and turn buoy stays on. The course is approx in 18’ of water. We attach a long rope to the inside boat lane buoy eye bolt approx 20’ with an old buoy floating on the surface. When finished there will be 8 marker buoys on the surface, one at every gate. The reason for the marker rope on the inside boat lane eye bolt is when floating the course the pipe will surface easier. If you want you can also leave the outside boat lane buoy on, the course will still sink to the bottom. We use a 4’ 1/4 polypropylene rope permanently attached to the eyebolt on the course and the large plastic clips from Wally Skier to the buoy. All rope ends are fidded, NO knots. When you raise the course all you will have is buoys in your boat the ropes are left on the course. 1 ski boat and 2 people and the course can be sunk or floated in less than 30 minutes. FYI 23 years of lakefront living and skiing in Florida and not 1 gator issue and never seen a water moccasin in the lake or on my dock. Most people mistake the black water snakes as Moccasins.

@Mitchellm Traveling west towards Tampa there was a course on the west side going north and south. FYI, Kermit who owners Fantasy of Flight skis. A few years ago he was restoring a MasterCraft.

@MitchellM If you go with a floating course only use a Accufloat. Insta courses won’t hold up. That lake can get extremely windy. If you put a floating course in and you run into trouble with fisherman or property owners your chances of getting a permit are slim. If done correctly I have never known of a course permit that was denied. Usually in Florida you want to be on the east shore going north and south.If the lake is heavily fished and has a public ramp which it does, a floating course might not be the way to go. Just remember, if you go the cheap route you will regret it when it comes time for maintenance and repairs. I have 2 surveyed courses and 2 Suyderhound Accufloat courses. There is a gentleman by the name of Chester Trump that has lived on that lake for a long time he can probably give you some insight. I believe his sons were wakeboarders.

@Horton Men’s 3 starts at 35 years old and the speed drops to 34. I guess that was the thought process. Any division where the top speed is 34. For the men I think you had to have 2 at 39 to qualify, not sure about the women. Not sure who did the invitations.

If there was a rock solid schedule to tell someone when you’re skiing it would be different but our sport doesn’t work that way. Maybe a professional YouTuber will be there?

@mike_mapple to bad they don’t move the vendors down to the middle of the main where they put the food vendors. Parking is right there and they wouldn’t flip out for people driving in the grass. But, I guess that’s the way it’s always been!!!
