  1. I saw what @MattP initially, then noticed one more thing later. He seemed to be looking at the shoreline until almost he finished his turn. Typically you go where you are looking, thus he is 'countering' longer. yup, many of us cannot post in the 'advanced' section.

  4. I think if you are on a three or four lake site, than a cable driven tow may be a good thing. For $35,000 (referencing OB), it would reduce shoreline damages tremendously, save on property owners to purchase and maintain the larger boats, and may even drive the property value up. Since the cable puts the riders upward, it could double as a learning tool for beginner water skiers to get out of the water easier.
  5. Picture 1 is around three ball? Looks more like your ski pointing directly at the stern, right behind the boat, based on the wash. Maybe I'm wrong at looking at the photo. And you got around 5 @35 on photo 2? cool, carry on.

  7. In the case of inserts in snow ski, I think the issue is that binding hold patterns are not uniform between manufacturers. I'm not sure if most people swap bindings between snow skis or not. Most common folks who do that I know of at the AT or Randonee guys, where a set of binding can be $600. Finally, it is very rare for snow skiing equipment mfg to put inserts in the skis. I have apair of K2 Telemark/backcountry skis from the the early 2000s that have them from the factory. back to the OP's question: other features or technology that I can think of are rocker profile, and carbon fiber usage.

  9. some people say that the Intuition liners ar good for about 4 cookings. However, I've had a pair since 2004 or 2005, and cooked them around 5 or 6 times. They seemed to be good. So, I'd say the Intuition Liners should be fine for re molding to your feet.
  10. I see the Reflexworld website describes the white cuff has Flexion Brake, for slalom skiing. What/how is the brake supposed to do? More importantly, what are the advantages? Looks to me it allows setting the forward cuff canting, and restricted movement.
  11. Are you saying that you did not make any mark on the distributor shaft in relation to the block (and rotor position)? If that's the case, then you need to rotate the crank until it's at #1 TDC, then drop the distributor with the 'rotor' lining up to # 1 plug wire. Should be close enough for it to fire up. Once running, using a timing gun to make final adjust. That what I would do. Others may have other suggestions.
  12. Funny that it seemed when Goode was in MI, their snowskis were designed for the east coast. However now, their overall shape is still old school, except for some which are rockered. Core material changed as mentioned previously as well.
  13. Not much chatter about the Goode snow skis in general. The typical things I've heard i the past is that they are too light. However, for touring, it's a big plus. If you decide to do the promote... IF you get a 177 Carbon Wasatch, AND mount them with Dynafit Radicals, and you do not like the skis, then I'm interested in buying off from you just to try them. yeah I know, long shot. I don't really need another slalom ski, then again, I don't need another pair of snow skis either.

  15. Big fat long FULL rocker skis will have the best chance, kinda like jumpers then. But what if the binding releases?

  17. Even a solid skier can lose the handle or get rope slack. Results can be very bad. It's an avoidable accident. Don't do it.

  19. Oh yeah. In the old days, you look up your AMP on the chart, then look for the skis that that have your corresponding AMP. Now, there is an AMP chart for the 9800x only. The Nano and Nano One only has length and shape, desired soft or medium flex, and speed. I suppose there are many variable in regards to your question on 62" and 64". Those being boat speed, and line length primarily. I happen to fine in my archive files that based on AMP and Flex pattern: For 9800/9900 (traditional) Length Soft Medium Firm ------ ---- ------- ---- 62.00" 80AMP 90AMP --- 64.25" 105AMP 125AMP 127AMP Based on the AMP chart: 62.00" = 60 to 110 lbs 64.25" = 100 to 140lbs So, the range depends on soft vs medium flex. The missing piece of the puzzle on the Goode site is the Flex Pattern Chart.
