  1. Been using Z box for three years. I feel that it is somewhere between SG and ZO. Like Deanoski said, only ZO is ZO.
  2. Granted Stein is exaggerating for the picture, but for those of us that raced in the 60,S and before, we used reverse shoulder ( counter rotation) to get close to the gates. They didn't move . Little did we know that we were also unlocking our upper body from our lower, so we were angulating. I also used this style on the water and it seemed to work. Been doing it for 50 years. Did it today. Feels good.
  3. Had a PRP treatment for my left elbow in 2011. After deductibles and co-pays it cost me about $250.00. Had one for my right elbow in June of this year ($1323.00). Same doctor, same insurance company. This is quite sobering, and will make me think twice about getting medical care.
  4. I've been a strong proponent of mid-loops for long time. It's a physical and psychological aid to take baby steps. I was driving for a friend yesterday who was struggling at -32. I said " I'm putting you back on -30 ". He ran the pass and went home feeling good about his skiing.
  5. Make sure your left elbow is behind you as you extend the handle going into two ball. This will help in leading the turn with the inside hip, and also help to keep your head and shoulders level.
  6. Your on side pull precedes your off side turn and vice versa. It's common to not get as good an edge change going into your on side turn, so that might be the culprit.
  7. Well, I tried 32mph again and skied -28, -30, and 5@-32. You definitely have to pull a bit longer and hold tension on the line after the edge change. Leon, I haven't even attempted -35 for quite some time. I haven't skied tournaments for a couple years, so have just been out there to have fun and not worry about buoy count. Maybe it's time to shorten the rope. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll probably keep plugging away with the Senate for now.
  8. I start at -25, then - 28 if I can ski back to back 25's, then -30, then -32 on occasion. While not skiing really short line, I do enjoy the speed at 34. Guess I'll just have to get used to going slower. Horton, would the Conquer or the HO Superlite be an alternative?
  9. I use Goode Powershells on a 67 Sen. C at 29 7/8. Further forward seems to work better for my skiing style.
  10. I will soon be graduating to M7 and a tournament speed of 32. I tried the new speed yesterday for the first time and man does it feel slow. Generating enough speed to reach the balls and have a good turn is problematic. I'm currently riding a Radar Senate C, 67" and weigh about 175. This ski has performed well at 34. But is there a ski that would be better suited for the slower speed?
  11. I guess you know of whom I'm speaking. You might have seen him in Wolfeboro today.
  12. I still have a Northland Warren Witherell Slalom. Thinking out of the box, my brother and I routed a concave in it. Little did we know where the shape of slalom skis was going.
  13. Keep your head on straight. Don't judge your self worth on how you skied today. Don't have too high expectations. And see a psychiatrist about this crazy addiction you have.
  14. Have I seen you wearing glasses while on the water? Going to have to try that.
  15. Fisher Hole Skis, reduced material in the tip and tail let the ski initiate the turn easier. Love my RC4s.
  16. "corduroy" Water with a little ripple helps me see the surface of the water. Unlike skiing on a mirror.
  17. Let me rephrase that. You have to ski consistent with your chosen letter/number or it may punish you.
  18. Add the 14M buoy that Gordon proposes, but stop judging entrance and only use it for exit. I think this could work because you would really only need to add the extra buoy for tournaments. I'm pretty sure I could practice without it.
  19. Thanks for the comments. I'm thinking that C2 changed my pullout and gate rhythm and left me with slack at 1. It's nice to have choices, but you sure have to get it right, then ski it right to be beneficial. I have three sayings that describe my skiing; my skiing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get, sometimes your the windshield sometimes your the bug, past performance may not be an indicator of future returns. So, skiing consistently is highly advised.
  20. If the engine alignment is off there would be a noticeable vibration. Does it seem different from before the engine was removed?
  21. Finally getting to ski regularly with Zero Off, but have not yet been able to find a setting that suits me. What I'm looking for is a quick response off the ball, but not an over-powering pull from buoy to buoy. Started with C2 this morning and found myself falling in before the rope tightened. B3 seemed somewhat better, or was it just my skiing. What do you all ski at, any suggestions? Boat is a 2010 SN. BTW I noticed that this boat does some serious rpm to go 34.2. Is that typical?
  22. Entrance gate should be used only for a reference point for boat and skier. End gate , skier should have to pass anywhere to the right of the left hand buoy.
  23. Problem fixed. Wires that go to back of tach. were loose. Probably from the dirt road we trailer the boat down to get to the pond. By the way, it's a private pond in the middle of the woods. It's approx. 2000 ft. long, about 150 ft. wide with marshy edges. Hence, no wind or backwash, no boats either. It's like I died and went to slalom heaven.
