  1. Years ago we had a fuel supply problem in a Mastercraft. Filters were fine. The fuel supply line in the tank had a screen over the end of the line that was clogged with bits of plastic from our fuel jugs
  2. Anyone have info. on the availability of motorhome parking/camping options at Nationals. The website says camping TBD. I've never been to the site. It sounds like it's in a residential neighborhood.
  3. The " legal distance" is 150ft. The legal distance is a bit academic because there are several large areas of the lake accessed by passing through areas that are not 300ft wide. Users will not slow to no wake speed to access those larger areas. The problem would be reduced if the surf boats used a greater portion of the lake. The homeowners association is trying to develop a flier or signage to educate users on wake etiquette, quiet hours etc. Educational language for all users is what we are we are looking for. I suppose you could be a jerk on a paddleboard and I wouldn't care. Surf boats or people wet testing their large ocean boats create tsunami size waves that create expensive damage are the target concern. We don't have government intervention on our lake......yet. I would like an educational approach first. If 5 wake boats turns into 10 our 400 or so residents will call in government and we may all suffer that intervention.
  4. One surf boat became five surf boats and damage is beginning to show. We are seeing shore erosion, dock damage and waterfowl issues. I've maintained a waterski course on our public lake for 30 years and my neighbors tolerate it for the most part. The surf boats with multiple people on board and the music they share with the world is drawing ire. I'm not against surfing, but multiple passes close to shore is tearing things up. Jetskis are annoying, but less of an issue. Any suggestions on how to tactfully help surf boat owners modify their behavior? Skiers boats are either planing or at idle and our wakes are minimal by comparison
  5. Everyone seems to be downsizing on their Vapors. I'm 6'3 and vary between 195 and 205. I ski 32 as a M7 and typically run mid 38. In 2018 I had a 68 Vapor. In 2019 I had a 67 Senate Pro and a 69" Vapor, Currently I'm on a 2020 69" Vapor. My ball count has remained the same due to a gate and patience problem at 38 although my 35's are smoothing and way more consistent. I'm tempted to try my buddy's 2020 68" Vapor, but the question ( finally) is why? Some very good skiers have suggested that you should ski on the biggest ski you can turn.... why not size UP. Also, does height matter? Should a 5'8" 200 lbs person ski the same size as a 6'5" 200lbs person. I can see why a 36mph skier would size down from a 32mph skier but what about the other factors I mentioned
  6. I had a similar problem on a 2001 Nautique. Ran flawlessly, stopped at the end of a pass and would not restart. Turned out to be a bad battery cable. Check the big easy stuff first.
  7. I’ll second the treble hook drag method. We sink our course annually and drag every spring. Takes 15 minutes to find the centerline and start tying buoys. Good luck!
  8. I love the saying...... you date your ski and marry your bindings! Maybe not ready for divorce??
  9. I believe you are correct. Just under the block touching the plastic shell
  10. Related to Ed's comment above about the index lines on the fin.... I have the WF mounted on a 2019 Radar 67" Senate Pro. I used the ski specific numbers on the Whisper fins site. Those numbers are..BF=30.75, Wing 8, FD 2.510, FL 5.570, DFT 1.95, LE 7.70. The front three index lines are exposed, the 3rd index line in the back is invisible. The ski is super reliable and easy thru 32off. However, the ski feels slow. My 35's are narrow and too much work and 38 is over at 1ball. I haven't tried the setup using the instructions that came with the ski. I defaulted to the ski specific setups. Any idea's to increase speed? I'm RFF, 205lbs and ski at 32mph. I will say that the first set was an absolute joy and there wasn't a scary moment . The fin felt great immediately! Of course, we always want more.
  11. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it is a top shelf ski site. The lake skis great. Highly recommend you visit.
  12. When can we order one and how long before we can actually get one to try? Also, will this fin work best with a standard wing or do you have something available that is better?
  13. My wife and I enjoyed this years venue. Airport access was great, hotel travel distance to site was easy. Electronic signup for practice was excellent and dock starts were great. Given the magnitude of this years event, I am amazed at how well the Mystic Lakes organizers pulled everything together. It’s a gigantic job done by volunteers and I thank them for a job well done!
