  1. I understood sonar requires 60F + Temp
  2. @Horton agreed. @Brownie_09 was talking about 43 @34mph
  3. If you are talking about renting an RV / Trailer and have it dropped off and picked up at Ski West, this will be available. If you just want to put your tent on the grass, we are trying to organize now.
  4. Well I do agree with @Horton We have a few guys today that can run deep 41 or run it at 36, that could compete at 34: Asher, TGas, Corey, JT... and Nate and Freddie are 2 years away from graduating to 34... Imagine what they can run at 34!
  5. Our Ski West Nationals Warm Up tournament is officially full as of today. I don't think this ever happened to us in January before. Hopefully a good sign for a great Nationals.
  6. @TLE We will have RV spaces available but there is no camping available onsite. There is a lot adjacent to Ski West that may offer camping. We are confirming in the next few weeks.
  7. @disland we are doing online practice only. No tickets can be purchased onsite. Slots will be available online, where skiers will have to pick a lake, and a time slot. We will have slots for different ramp heights and boats.... Getting practice boats is really challenging, and we are working on it to get the best possible boats.
  8. T-Shape handle is used by Jason Peckam. I understand he developed it after putting his arm through the handle. He's also the one who is 3D printing flex tails for his Connelly.
  9. @BlueSki Yes, I have over 10 sets on the ski. I will attempt a mini review, since it is Monday morning and way more attractive that prep for my first meeting of the day. Unboxing: The ski came nicely packaged and all setup. Similar graphics as the 85 but blue. You can tell the ski was not rushed as the finish is really pretty. It came with a standard non asymmetrical fin. First Ski Ride: It was a bit of an adjustment from the C-85. Besides the ski, I am also adjusting to the fin. I have been riding a CG fin for the past 4 years. The ski is really really fast, really stable and turns like a Denali. The Good: Very stable, fast, turns and goes right off the turn. I felt more control on the pull out and gate turn in. My Challenges: I am not going to label it "The Bad" because it would not be fair. Like with any new skis, there is an adjustment. I am 220lbs (so heavier than the average skier) and the Denali team has been very supportive to give me feedback and help me adjust the ski. I struggled a bit with my offside (a bit more than with the C-85) and after a bit of trial and error, moving the boots and adjusting the fin... I started feeling really good and trusting the ski more. One issue in my skiing is giving the handle into one too soon. I have been working on keeping the connection longer and holding the handle through pre-turn. When I did that, the ski started to turn even better on my offside. I am 6.3 on a 65" ski and riding over the front boot can be a bit intimidating, however doing so on the C-95 (as you would expect) creates an insane amount of space. My take so far: When I try a new ski, my benchmark is that I have to run about my normal buoy count within the first couple of sets, otherwise, it might not be the ski for me. This was the case with the C-95, and with the help of Denali, It is feeling better and better. I will be honest though. My first set on the ski was in 85F water. My last set this past week end was 65F with a wetsuit. This makes the cold sets a bit more challenging and I feel like I would be running a few more buoys in warmer weather. A few sets in Florida next month will tell. In conclusion, If you want to try something new and different, get one. I expect for most, the ski will feel fast, stable, turn from a faster speed and go right out of the turn. To be fully transparent, I initially had a few frustrating passes where I expected everything to work like the C-85 which I had been riding for 2 years, but then, I did have a few passes I almost missed because I was giggling like a little girl because how good the ski felt...
  10. Or you could just buy a new ski 🙂
  11. this reminds me that the Paris Olympic will run surfing in Tahiti. One athlete is qualified for skateboarding and Surfing so she will have to do a bit of traveling to attend both events... 🙂 I have seen the Duplan Family training at the lake in Florida. All amazing skiers and genuinely nice people. Maybe they were less active on social media or promoted by a brand.
  12. @adkh2oskier Jason Peckham does have a very cool T handle. He used it in one or 2 rounds. It is in the process of being officially approved by IWWF. Main reason according to him is safety. @jcamp Hard to tell. Not many new people from those who were around 10 to 15 years ago. Few pros / OM transition to MM. The last ones are Noah Vieke, Seth Stisher, Adam Caldwell, Adam Cord, Chris Rossi... The MM tour with 55k WEST is a lot smaller. We lost some skiers and other are a bit older. Having said that, I am about 10 buoys behind the top guys and the event was a lot of fun, with a wait list. This is a good sign. The Swiss 55k stop was great. The organizers did a great job. I encourage skiers to support them and join at least one stop.
  13. 39s ran that week 55K Warm up Tournament Jeremy New-Ricci: 2@41 on Goode Greg Badal: 2@41 on Goode (M6 record) 55K West Tournament Mark Menasci ran .5@41 twice on Goode Seth Ran .5@41 twice on Connelly I Don't have a pic of Jason's ski, but the tail flexes when you push it. Very interesting...
  14. One guy at 55k west got a PB 4@39 after a few weeks on the ski. I will be skiing on my new C-95 this week end and report. 😀
  15. I was able to add skiers with data as of Aug 10 last week end. Site is also almost up and running except for calculation of ranking list average.
  16. Just wanted to praise the ski doc folks for helping out with a Surepath antenna pylon mount. Great and fast service. I would recommend you check them out if you have a Surepath antenna and want to take video of your sets. Their product works great for tournament tech as well.
  17. @Cam I agree with @lpskier no re-ride should have been granted because the driver was with the skier after 4 ball. It should be at the discretion of the judge though, if the numbers, or end course video is extremely bad. As a judge or chief judge, I would have asked for a re-ride if the driver had a major, obvious deviation to help the skier. In the US, it is common to run international ranking tournaments, but also offer a class E (national record) or class C (national ranking) option, for kids and skiers who don't care. On a side topic, and maybe this is for another thread, it will be important to translate surepath correctly and not obsess about it. The rules around it are very raw and young. For example if the boat is +25 at buoy 3 and you get a score of 3@39, it is a reride with a protected score of 2, but, you cannot get a score over 3, even if you run the pass. One could argue that the boat being with the skier may not help at 39 if they turn in to a slack line... Another interesting rule I found out this week end is that if the boat pass or cum is over positive tolerance from 2 ball to 4 ball, and the skier gets a score of 4@38, they will have a protected score of 1. However, they cannot improve by more than 1 buoy on their re-ride. I love surepath and this is a great tool for drivers, but I think we will see more skiers getting screwed by bad calls from judges, rather than someone being given a 2cm advantage / disadvantage.
  18. it was a great event. Great webcast, great skiing.
  19. We had 3 S-Line ropes at our tournament. Everyone seemed happy enough to not say anything. It seemed skiers didn't;t even think about it. Great ropes and great price.
