  1. Some people don’t have the experience to be pulling trailers long distance. Not saying your one of them just putting it out there. Tandem axle makes a huge difference when traveling long distances but single axle is just fine but less stable in extreme conditions. Have everything checked by a good mechanic and enjoy the trip.
  2. So If you buy a new ski do you only try it once before giving up on it. You say you’ve only tried the r style once. I don’t know if anyone who switches bindings and immediately runs a PB. Give it some time and play with how tight you have it on top of your foot
  3. Depending on the weight of your grappling hook you need to drag it slow enough so it stays in the bottom. Knowing where the course was would be critical, otherwise you would have to drag the whole lake. Rennet as you pull it up from the bottom it is either poly line or cable. Either of these materials do not mix well with your propeller.
  4. Stabbed myself with a reciprocating saw. Kneeling in the ground cutting some wood and it kicked up and came straight down into my leg. Couldn’t get my finger off the trigger so it got me twice while running. Two 3” deep holes but only one entrance hole. I got really lucky. 5 stitches and they sent me home but it’s going to take awhile for the muscle to heal enough to ski.
  5. I haven’t skied a tournament in 2 years. But my PB is the same for practice and tournaments so it makes it easier when someone asks ?
  6. Speed is your friend. It’s how and when you carry the speed that it becomes beneficial. As others have stated your timid through the gates so you can get a good one. Carry more speed in your glide, turn in with more speed, get wider on the boat, however you want to think of it the result is the same. The ski will come around easier and allow you to get in a good stack before the boat starts pulling you down course. Carry the speed out and earlier to one ball.
  7. @Andre I have a portable course and it does take water to get them to float at the right level. I wouldn’t think it would be necessary on a permanent course
  8. Who gives a shit. Just grateful for what you do. Is it perfect ... no but if I can hear it it isnt that bad to start with.
  9. @Wish trail cameras are set off by a motion detector. I would guess a 50’ radius. Some of the newer ones have cell service and send a picture to your phone.
  10. I’m really really close to 200? only one set on the new KD platinum but 67” is definitely big enough for me
  11. @"Keith Menard" I wish I could. No one near me carries any gloves that would work for me. The HO gloves are the same way different years fit didferently. Hoping the BOA closure takes care of that
  12. Thinking about switching to the Radar BOA gloves. How does the sizing compare to HO gloves. Their website says to measure around my hand and when I do this I says I need medium glove but the HO 41 tail in a large fit perfect. Any suggestions?
  13. Jack them up, spin and see how they sound then wiggle them to make sure they aren’t loose. Run them to the lake and when you get there touch the hubs with your bare hands. In 8 miles they should only be warm to the touch. If you blister your hand you got problems?
  14. I have a 67” VTX for sale if anyone is looking for one. I know several people that skied it and really liked it. I skied within 2 buoys of my Pb several times. Upgraded this year to a KD.
  15. Ha ha @Chef23 taken after the tornado cleanup
  16. Our body of water was going unused. Getting permission was a non issue. At one time we formed a ski club through USA waterski and insurance was provided as part of the club. Not sure if that is still the way it works but having insurance as a “club” would definitely help. Have some video available of how skiing in a course actually works. Most people have no idea of how controlled of an environment we exist in. We aren’t a bunch of idiots making huge waves while driving in circles.
  17. If they changed the course I would be screwed. As a RFF skier my onside sucks ass at 35 and beyond.
  18. I have had many buoys that didn’t survive the winter. One year the 2 ball arm ended up on the same side as the 1/3. Sink it all to the bottom and make a big treble hook out of re bar. My 3 hooks are about 10” long. Throw out the hook and drag it slowly by hand acrosss the mainline. 1 or 2 attempt and your off and running
  19. My boat is a 2001 Malibu response with regular old perfect pass. PB is 4@38. Not sure which boat my tournament PB was pulled by but it was a ZO boat.Tournament PB is 4@38.
