@BKistler I am seeing something different in my neck of the woods.; at least in our little pocket of public lakes in northern Illinois. I noticed this trend maybe 5-6 years ago. While wakeboarding has been replace to a large degree by surfing, I definitely notice more people skiing than wakeboarding. Now, to be clear, I am not talking about people riding the latest versions of slalom skis behind late model ski tugs. I am talking about recreational skiers riding old skis behind runabouts. Kids included. Pretty common to see kids riding an old pair of combos fully bent over at the waist as they learn. Regardless, this group of people is not going to buy a TXI.

Sometimes watch live. Other times watch replay. Sometimes it's nice to hear the commentary between passes. Sometimes it's nice to just forward past all the down time and just watch the action.

I agree with @eleeski. What do we want to see? Even though flips are cool, I'm glad there is a limit to them because runs exclusively made of flips would be boring (to me) and would make most other tricks obsolete at the elite level. Elite trickers are forced to do toes and ski line tricks because the point values dictate what one needs to break records. I think there are benefits to re assessing point values for all tricks even the obsolete ones as @Horton said. For example, the benefit of reassessing point values at the low end may have a significant impact on how a skier could get to 2000 points . This would have no effect on elite trick scores but it would give skiers more paths to qualify/compete at regionals/nationals. It would allow for more creativity in building trick runs for lower level trickers. A similar thing happened when they allowed trick 5 to be repeated.

To me, the line tricks with 2 skis seem harder than with one ski. Much easier to get your bare foot over the rope than your foot with a trick ski attached to it. 2 ski line tricks should not be worth less than one ski.

Sell the boat and buy a surf board.

You are going to be out on the lake all day without access to a dock, but will have access to a jump ramp? That seems unusual. Lose the jumpers.

I agree that the novice buoys would work great but for the reasons stated above I don't think we'll be doing that. @m_pags suggestions for removing the old foam out of the tube?

Ez slalom course. We think the pvc tubes might be sagging a bit because the boat guide opposite the turn ball tend to float loose while the "inside" boat guide is taught. If memory serves me correctly, I believe that the tubes have some foam inside to help it float and the foam can get water logged over time. We have thought about injecting great stuff or cutting up some pool noodles and sliding them in the tube. Does anyone have suggestions?

Try something else. Ride the trick ski.

@OldboyII You will have to search the nationals videos over the last two years. There was a skier or two in one of the boys divisions that skied with the 2 hands-on approach and the announcer indicated he was a student of Lucky. Sorry I can't be more specific as to who it was or which division. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I have done as @jjackkrash mentioned above. RO polisher and something like Mothers or Meguires polishing wax for light oxidation. If that isn't enough start with a rotary polisher, wool pad, and a medium cut compound wax followed by a light polishing wax as stated above. 3M has a whole line of these as do others.

If they skied with a spotter then they might have noticed the big fin in the water and headed the other way.

@dgarland10 Am I understanding correctly? A fake-a-lake messes up your impeller? How?

3 axles? For a Prostar? Was that an upgrade or just a wake barge trailer used for a ski boat?

All 3 are good options. I believe the Sunsetter will be a bit longer at 22 ft but the the RLXI and Moomba will be wider at 95" vs 93". I have owned an Outback for about 10 years and it is a very capable boat. Fewer appointments than the Malibus, but was an AWSA approved tow boat. I regularly ski between my Outback and an 03 RLXI for tricking and slalom -22 and -28. The differences are not too drastic. The open bow on the Outback is very usable; equal to if not slightly bigger than the RLXI.

@ral I agree. However the more frustrating part is that the live stream isn't you-tube so you can't "forward arrow" to easily fast forward between passes. Hurts even more because the the sit times are longer than normal on the Yarra.

@thager I saw pictures on this forum of the aluminum mod a few years ago. I have considered it but was concerned about the canopy ribs being strong enough to hold heavy snows. Being in MN, I presume your neighbor hasn't had any issues.

There are a lot of reasons why people like surfing. And there are lots of reasons to not like it. Although I am a novice at surfing (wake or real) I would much prefer to do it at the beach rather then behind a boat. I think the best way to sum it up is that I'm not inspired by wake surfing in the least. 3 event skiing, surfing in the ocean...that is inspiring.
