  1. Should I take offense that I was part of this underperforming Mens 3 group? LOL ... For me personally, the water skied great and got a score that is around what I should have expected. I think it's a participation problem ... A very low percent of the skiers in the top 25 of the USA ranking list showed up. That said, I get it ... This is probably the busiest life stage for most skiers with families and jobs. Taking the time to get to a site like Kansas that skis great but is logistically harder to get to could have been the breaking point. I know I wouldn't have gone if I wasn't able to get a direct flight.
  2. I have the best luck with really getting people to focus on their body position which translates to a good ski position for starts. The simplest way I've been able to explain it is to get your hands down to your toes. This gets you to have arms straight and reached forward with your knees in to your chest (creates a low center of gravity and leveraged position for when the ski begins to plane). The second key point is that your butt should be as close as possible to your rear binding. This pitches the ski more towards a plaining position. As you are being pulled up, focus on continuing to push that handle down towards your feet by engaging your lats. If you get these 2 correct, your driver should be able to maintain tension on the rope and get you moving a bit through the water before pulling you up. And as everyone wrote above, a smooth consistent push of the throttle is what is needed.
  3. check all wiring ... Would bet the wiring between the brain and the display has come loose or corroded ... Also make sure the battery is fresh. I've seen some dumb things with a bad battery.
  4. Following! Definitely prefer to bring the rv!
  5. Picked up my 2020 at Nationals. Ski is feeling sweet! Just ran a tourney PB.
  6. Out of curiosity, why are the hours a big concern? There is an '07 on SIA that has high hours that I would put against any other low hour boat of that age. The boat has been kept meticulously, drives as well as any new promo, and is strong. (And by the way is well below your budget). I would actually be concerned that only 100 hours a year is actually not enough use to keep things moving well!!

  8. "Mini course buoys are to be set at 7.5M plus/minus 1 meter. This gives way to a broad range of pre-installed mini course green buoys." We want to add a mini-course to our site, but this is the closest I've seen to anyone attempting to lay out some dimensions ... Quick question ... is the 7.5M in relation to the centerline of the course, or the boat guide line??? Thanks!
  9. My problem is more with whatever the criteria is that goes into the "Elite" ranking list with IWSF. Something is off if the number 4 skier in the world is ranked 10th on that list ... And by the way ran 41off putting him closer than most of getting a chance at a world record. Even our own BOS pro ranking list on the front page has Corey ranked 5th ... Do you want the best skiers at the event? Or do you want the ones that can make it to all the cash prize tournaments that are used for the "Elite" list?
  10. No Corey Vaughn ... Number 4 skier in the world on the IWWF rankings list ... Has run 41 in a tournament and has placed well at the "pro" events he's been able to make it to ... Not sure I understand how the "elite" skier rankings really bring the best skiers to the event ...
  11. It's not just hydration but also the body being short on electrolytes! Remeber, anything with caffeine and of course alcohol makes you even more dehydrated ...
