  1. @AdamCord thanks so much for the explanation. I'm working on my start gate as a friend recently said the same thing (only on my 2nd day trying to get wider/sooner). I'll start there, and pay attention to my rope load. Still learning!
  2. Hey there - read all your stuff on GUT and am trying to better myself in the course. I'm having trouble understanding how to level the ski past CL but pull with the upper body against the boat. Looking over my video from today (22' off at 32 and 34), I need to stand up straighter through the wake. Maybe I'm transitioning my ski too soon (around CL) vs after the 2nd wake? Either way, I don't feel like I'm getting the 'flat ski, pull/lean with the body". Tips?
  3. Fantastic Kyle. I'm having the exact same issue. 34 will run up to 36 and 38 will run into 37.5. Both will drop below the set speed before correcting. It is annoying, so I'm glad this should fix all that. Reading this post I realize just how spoiled we are :-). I grew up on an I/O and then an old 85hp Outboard. That was easy, "Just pin it. Pin the throttle and keep it there". Still only got about 28mph then. USB should be here before the weekend, along with a new steering cable. Can't wait!
  4. Thanks Kyle, I've got the order in for the upgrade. I guess it is as easy as a USB stick or something. Should have it in a couple days. I don't ski the course well enough to appreciate a consistent pull, but I'd like to have it come up to speed and hold vs overshoot/undershoot. Hopefully this solves that issue.
  5. Thanks. I've got an email into pp. Mine will overshoot the speed by about 2 mph, then correct too far and be 1.5 mph slow. Eventually it finds it's happy place, but it takes a while. Skied my buddies 206 sport and his rarely overshoots. Skied a Malibu with paddle wheel and it was dead on. I'd rather mine stop short and come up to speed vs overshoot and correct.
  6. Wondering what the latest and greatest version of perfect pass firmware is for the stargazer wake edition. I'm on 8.something but see a lot of references to 9. And of course, wondering what the difference is between them if there is a new version.
  7. Looking for a used TRA for my 9yo boy. Let me know if your kids outgrew it and you might have one for sale. You can post here or email liamfmvt _ gmail.com Thanks in advance!
  8. Title says it all. Looking for a new to me stick. NRG or Vapor Pro Build, 68-69.5". Thanks!
  9. I'm thinking about holding out for a 69" SS. Coming from the 67, which I feel is awesome, I don't think I'll need anything more then a SS 69.
  10. I usually free ski 36 mph and 22-28 off. The course isn't in but my guess is back down to 32. I was out skiing a siege comp, but the sixam ss is awesome, just a bit small for my 6' 230 lbs.
  11. Can anyone compare these two skis? On a 67 Sixam SS now, looking for a larger ski (and one that is mine, not my friends). 2009 Radar Senate 69 is cheap right now, but how will it ski compared to the sixam?
  12. Thanks all for the comments. I've contacted BC to see if I can get that Sixam. If that doesn't work out I might jump on a Senate. Can't wait to get something a touch bigger then the 67 I'm on now. :-)
  13. Wow Jay, that's a very inexpensive ski. I'm apprehensive about jumping on something with that low of a cost. Maybe I can find someone in Vermont who skis it and will let me take it for a test. How would you compare the Senate with the Sixam? Apples and oranges? Part of me is thinking I should save my pennies for a Sixam since I know it and like it.
  14. I'm in the market for a ski. My current ski, a Siege Comp isn't holding up to my level of skiing anymore. I've been lucky enough to have used a 67" Sixam recently and love it, but I think it's out of my price range, even used. A friend has an O'Brien Seven, 68 or 69" with Targa Front and rear toe (I don't want double boots) that he's looking to get rid of for $350. I'm going to take it out for a spin but wondered what I can expect coming from the Sixam. I free ski mostly. I will maybe do a few runs in the course this year, but basically just free ski. I'm about 6' and 225lbs, so I think a big ski is a good idea :-) Thanks in advance - don't hurt the newbie! Liam
