  1. @dchristman eyeTrick is FREE to use in Class C Tournaments and in practice. You will need the server version of the software that will be available to download next week. Also available next week (in the software you currently have) will be the tournament training system that adds 2 or 4 other judges passes to the pass you've judged so you can practice the reconciliation process
  2. @Jibbo Website is live. Login at www.eyetrick.ski for information on how to use it, pricing, tutorials, training, videos to download, track your progress and much more
  3. @Jibbo eyeTrick is a great tool to improve your trick judging. The slightly reduced speed and ability to pause the video to enter the tricks stops it being completely overwhelming. The predictive model helps you understand which tricks typically follow which. And the benchmarking process allows you to judge videos then compare your pass to an expert judges pass and easily review the tricks where you had a difference. Sign up at www.eyetrick.ski to get started.
  4. No one suggesting you need eyeTrick to ski @Jody_Seal . But if you want to make an incredible event more interesting and relevant to skiing and non-skiing spectators alike then we need to do something about how we judge it. Or maybe you think there is nothing wrong with how we market trick skiing. In which case I will respectfully disagree with you.
  5. @ToddL with eyeTrick it's not the future, it's the present.Everything you describe is already builtin to eyeTrick. We believe the education and training potential for our judges is enormous. Not only that but eyeTrick makes trick judging fun!! More judges, better judges, happier judges = happier skiers.
  6. @RAWSki for test and development we have worked with remote judges so it is possible but has its challenges. The current version of eyeTrick is very much a base that will allow the trick world to build out lots of exciting new developments.
  7. eyeTrick is the result of ten years work creating a system to make trick judging faster, more accurate, more consistent and more transparent. Live video from the boat (or memory cards if that's the way you do it) goes to the eyeTrick server from where three or five judges each control their own video stream using a tablet. A predictive system presents the judge with the most likely next tricks based on what the skier has done - making it extremely fast for each judge to enter the run on their tablet. The full pass is reviewed by each judge and the system reconciles all the judges passes to produce a final scored run before the skier is ready to come back for the second pass. Data is sent in realtime to the eyeTrick Mobile App or a webcast so anyone can see the pass building as the skier goes down the lake! Feedback has been amazing from judges, skiers and of course the spectators. You can see more detail on how it works in these videossplasheye.com/eyetrickvideo
  8. @horton if you're ruling out complicated solutions then I had better give up!! These projects on my desk a long time - just need some finishing..... Servo driven camera. GPS Start/Stop. 60 fps. Computer vision tracks the skier in software in realtime and controls the camera tracking. Three cameras, all 60fps, one looking at each side and one in the middle. Software stitches the video together based on GPS course start. Good zoom lens. GPS Start/Stop recording. WiFi based system for realtime scoring in competition Sometime in the next few years maybe.............
  9. The American Open was the first test event for the new eyeTrick system from SplashEye. Designed to give live, accurate and consistent trick scores. Three judges use tablets to score the tricks , producing fully scored and reconciled passes while the skier is still in the water at the end of the lake. Unfortunately some hardware problems prevented the scores going live onto the webcast on Sunday afternoon but it was nonetheless a great weekend for the system. More information will follow over the winter. info@splasheye.com
  10. SplashEye v24 will be released this week and fully support WaterSkiConnect to pass jump scores directly to WSTIMs
  11. If anyone wants a winter project...... Windshield mounted Raspberry Pi based, 1080p, 60 frames per second tracker. Optical zoom so the skier is a good size in the picture. Tracks and follows the skier based on full-body tracking (face recognition doesn't work in this environment). GPS start/stop for each pass. Instant review by WiFi at end of the pass or individual files available for download. Automatic link to scoring system. Originally designed to allow Trick/Slalom video in a covid world where we can't have three people in the boat Needs a bit of work to finish it and it's been bumped by other projects. Donal
  12. Just a reminder that the analysis @AdamCord posted can be done in about 15 seconds after each pass using standard end-course camera setup and a $200 usb video capture dongle that you may already have for SplashEye Jump. GPS is absolutely the answer for all this but in the meantime....www.splasheye.com/splasheyedrive
  13. I would urge anyone quibbling about the calculation of mortality rates or comparing this to the flu to watch this Sky News eyewitness report. UK and USA are about two weeks behind Italy. Inside Italian Hospital
  14. I wholeheartedly agree with @bishop8950 about the need for improved education of all officials regarding boat paths. It should be specifically discussed at clinics and seminars to demonstrate what a small movement is, what a big movement is, what a deliberate movement is..... It sounds obvious but in reality it takes knowledge, practice and experience. And we already have technology available that can solve this nonsense overnight. For $200 on a video capture device and free software the appointed end-course monitoring official can click a few buttons on SplashEyeDrive and have a complete deviation report 10 seconds after the pass. For $2000 on a GPS system the driver/judge can have tracking live in the boat. These solutions allow us to deal with the problem at the time. Give the skiers the reride they often deserve, give the Chief Judge/Driver the data they need to properly manage the driving and improve the drivers performance through accurate, immediate and objective feedback.
