  1. @bogboy, I was talking about the new hard cover. For me it's quite interesting, I don't like open bows but I understand that some times they are quite practical and here you have both worlds. Love it!
  2. I'm quite interested in the cover of the bow. Anybody knows how does it work? Is it storable in the boat? Easy to remove? I have to say, as a Nautique fan for more than 25 years that this is the first time I really want a MC. Well, I don't want it, I NEED it.
  3. "A competitors boat". I understand SN200 yes. I guess in the range of Txi. Enough for me.
  4. "30% less fuel than a competitors boat" Yesssssssssssssssss. I jsut learned the name of my next boat!
  5. Yes ShaneH, you could be right and there is a technical reason for that increase in fuel consumption but the TXi is almost the same length than the 200. Maybe the CC rides deeper with more wetted area or whatever but at the end I think the Malibu is better technology and a more efficient boat. Nowadays I think fuel consumption has to be one of the key points when designing a new hull.
  6. I expect that the new MC will have better fuel consumption than the older boat. A new boat has to be an improvement in every aspect. I’m a CC guy, I’m in my third 196 and I think I’ll be in the market quite soon but I’ll never buy a boat with worst fuel consumption than my actual boat. So 200 is no an option, TXi it’s for sure and let’s see what MC have done.
  7. How do you release from these boots? same as rubber boots?
  8. I understand you very well Hipsup, I guess we see things different here in Europe. There are regulations about land use, so he bought a sports use land and if the County or Goberment does not change it, he can not do what he wants with the land. Anyway, last time I was in Princess it was full of people, most in the cable wakeboard and in the gym, but I remember that I thought it should be a good business... and we ate quite good there, one of the best lasagna of my life and quite cheap.
  9. You are right bigtallweed, nothing in SIA and for sure I'm not going to spend those $700 (!!!) for the upgrade. If anybody here has a SG master module (no DBW) and a multi line display I would buy it...
  10. Thanks, bigtallweed. The main advantage of the upgrade is that I'll only have 2 magnets in the course. So I'll have to buy just two parts: the display and the new master module. I guess it's not a very expensive upgrade if I buy used. If I do it I'll tell you something about my display.
  11. I have a PP 6.4 working quite well in a 98 196, but as I'm reading this I'm thinking that maybe is time to upgrade to SG. I looked in SIA but I don't know very well what do I need to upgrade. I guess I need a diferent display, a multiline one, but what more parts do I need? Thanks
  12. Nop, first VTX model. Older than red VTX. 1992 +/-
  13. That's a nice move of Mr. Goode. He interviews two men of other ski brands giving them publicity. Kudos to Dave!!!!
  14. In fact they use the power of the derny, it's quite important to reduce the wind drag so forefront rider does not exhaust himself due to wind resistance. I also see similarities with the driving of the derny, the driver has to be very consistent with the speeds and direction same as waterski. But, again, the most important thing is that the power of the derny / boat is the same for all the participants. But of course there are differences, motorcycles have wheels and boats propellers...
  15. Of course Keirin is the example to be taken. We all know that the motorcycle is not the tow vehicle in Keirin but there is an engine involved in the sport and the performance of the engine is not a comparative advantage between competitors, same in waterski. That's the thing. And I also think slalom skiing is as much spectator sport as slalom alpine skiing. Anyway we lost the train of the olympics in 2004. We made a big effort to be included but... so I think we can not lose time and resources again and again with this issue.
  16. We were quite near in Athens 2004. Usually the host Country recommended a new sport to be added and the IOC always accepted it. Greece recommended Waterski. The IWSF organized and exhibition of three event and IOC members were quite impress by our sport (I was there). But at the end they said NO to waterski because the Olympics were too big, too many sports… they didn’t want a new one. Later the IOC dropped baseball and softball to allow two new sports to be in. As said before, Keirin is a sport with a motorbike but the engine is not an issue to win or lose the competition, it’s the same for all the competitors, same thing in waterski. http://www.awsaeast.org/graphics/seville.jpg
  17. The beach of our all included hotel
  18. I went to the DR in 2007 and skied quite a lot in Catalina. The ski conditions are wonderful, short setup but very nice lake. The local beach (Boca Chica beach) is a beautiful white sand beach with turquoise waters but very crowded as it's Santo Domingo local beach. There are beaches very near less crowded with nice all-included hotels. But you have to think that the DR is quite different from Florida. If you want any more info feel free to drop me a message or email.
  19. What's the difference between WallySkier buoys and regular buoys? Why are they safer?
  20. Well, I sent an email to Coble's requesting information. No answer after one week. My wife said it's her turn so she is checking a YMCA camp with little waterskiing... Thank you for your answers.
  21. That's very nice. But when an unboxing video for long line skiers?
  22. Thanks Mark. The idea is to send her alone from Europe, to lern English. I'll check Coble's
  23. Anyone can recommend me a summer camp which a strong water ski program for my 11 years old daughter? Thanks
