  1. Mine runs OK in rpm and wakeboard mode but greatly over/under shoots speed in slalom mode. Even when running without a skier. P. Pass told me that they may need to send me a $30 part to make it behave in slalom mode. Have done all the servo, return spring checks. Used to have a Zero off boat. Giant step backwards.
  2. Just picked up this 2001 Malibu Response with 325 monsoon, perfect pass stargazer and only 252 hours. Took off the wedge, changed out the old 4 blade prop for an Acme 515 and placed 50 pounds in the nose. Has more grunt now, is smoother, turns about 100 rpm less, a softer wake and does 47+ mph.
  3. Have a 2001 Malibu Response with a Morse Controls MV3 throttle that has too much friction/resistance. Does this control have an adjustment for that? My friends 2000 Sanger has the same control but it does not have enough friction and will spring back to idle if you don't keep your hand on it. Have scoured the internet with no luck. Thanks in advance!
  4. Something a lot closer would be nice. Looks like it's in too nice a shape to chop up. Nice colors. Love the old school 4 and 5 color gel coats.
  5. Want to find an older Mastercraft 1985-1990 or 1984-1985 Malibu Skier or a Brendella would do (same hull as the MC) to test some hydrodynamic ideas. Can be beat up but needs to run and have a trailer that can make it to the lake. Don't want to spend too much ($3K+,-) as some of the tests may be costly. Anyone out there have what I want preferably near where I live? I am located in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
  6. 2007 or newer LXi/TXi has bigger and deeper open bow. More room and doesn't take water over the front as quickly as a 200.

Got a Radar Cadence for the Mrs. Has a reasonably soft foam top, so can get banged around a bit, and a pretty good price for what you get.
  8. Does it have a cavitation plate? Has it moved? Is it adjusted to a presumably flat position?

  10. My '08 diamond hull VTX did not throw spray like that...yikes. New model year, bet the gang at Malibu has that sorted out by 2017. Looks like the strake angle just needs an adjustment.
  11. Make sure if you have a bow rider that the window is closed and the wind dam is in place to reduce wind buffeting.
  12. You can wakeboard behind a DD boat but trying to slalom behind a vdrive is not enjoyable. Had a 20' Malibu VTX with diamond hull now own a TXi. About the best you can get for what your doing. Bigger bow than a Nautique 206. I'm 5'11" and can sit with my legs completely stretched out.
  13. Love my Slasher. Floats well enough that your head stays above water even when you fully exhale, very comfortable and has no padding exactly where your arms lock into your side for the pull so you can get your arms in right next to your chest. Am 5'11" and 185 and am in a large.
  14. Strange. Have Wakeye and the 6s. I can't go as low as 30 fps. Lowest I can go is 60fps then 120 then 240. Hard reboot your phone or delete and re-install the app and see if that fixes it.
  15. Thought they did a change to the bottom similar to the LXi to TXi change. Thought it would improve the slalom wake.
  16. Refined the concept to what I think might be close to achieving the goals of ideal wakes for all disciplines. Plate configurations would be adjusted something like this... Slalom/Jump configuration- side plates down, rear plate flat. Trick/Wakeboarding configuration- side plates up, rear plate flat or up slightly. Barefoot configuration- side plates up, rear plate down slightly. Getting closer @eleeski @DW ?
  17. Invest in high quality ropes and handles. Cheap stuff has too much stretch in it and will screw up your timing and pull. You probably spent a bit of coin on the boat, skis and other gear. Don't ruin the fun with a cheap rope.
  18. Try "search tempest" for a used one. Searches all of Craigslist, Kijiji, EBay starting from you zip code and then keeps searching further away.
  19. Just...a...few...more...weeks and spring is around the corner. Ahhh...made it through another winter!!!
  20. Malib Sunsetter LXi. I believe they made that model from 2000-2004.
  21. Core and functional movement excercises along with weight loss will pay huge. Start NOW and you will reap the rewards when ski season starts. I used to just do the weights, gym thing nothing wrong with that but the core and functional movement excercises really help with balance and strength...your body works as a team. My first ski of the season I felt like I had not even been away from it for 6 months. Best wishes to you!
  22. Interesting...both the plates in the pictures appear to function by pressing down on the water when extended in any way. When fully retracted they present a normal/flat profile just as if they were not there and the manufacturer had filled that area with fiberglass. The reverse (kind of) is the case for my examples. When the plates are extended the hull presents a normal running profile to the water (for flat wakes) but when retracted they would allow the rear of the boat to sink deeper into the water. Different objective.
  23. @rodltg2 - kinda, sorta like that just mounted on the rear corners not the middle of the transom.
