  1. I'm there for the score for the most part. If my close friends or guys I have friendly competition with are there, I may stand up at a buoy or S-turn so I can say I beat them and hold it over their head. If they aren't there I'm turning the buoy and trying to get to the next one even if I have no chance of getting there. last year every round I skied I got to 3 ball. My last tournament of the year I was hell bent of getting past 3 ball, my second round I thru the ski out at 4 ball, I got a 3, 3 and 3.5 from the judges so 3 it was. The third round and last round for the year for me same thing but in a little better shape, 3.5, 3 and 3.25 so 3.25 it was. That extra 0.25 felt great, you would have thought I won the Olympics. It didn't matter that some other person had a better score than me, I was just happy I did more than 3!
  2. In an earlier post someone mentioned the old EP system. How did that work?
  3. I don't get ability based nor does my 13 year old daughter when I asked her about it. So your the best 22 off skier, great. She doesn't go to tournaments to try to be best of the mediocre, she goes to try and be the best that she can be, and looking at the scores of the girls that are better and higher on the ranking list pushes her to try even harder. Why not have handicapped tournaments at the State level, I know Ohio does this and their tournaments seem to have a decent turn out, this seems to make things more interesting and competitive. Is it the ability based brackets that make INT more enjoyable to attend, I would say no? Everyone on shore is cheering for the person on the water. Some of the AWSA tournaments I have been to, people show up, ski and leave, no cheering for anyone else, no support, they get their score and leave. Seems like the social aspect needs to change. Not how we score. There is also a ton of bureaucratic B.S. you have to go through to get involved as a judge, scorer, driver etc in AWSA. INT, if you can count to 6, good, get in the boat and score. I know this might be oversimplified but it seems like we could make it easier for new people to get involved and not feel intimidated about all the B.S. that goes on to having a tournament.
  4. @savaiusini want to purchase the HO version of the Reflex set up, looked at it at nationals but unfortunately you didn't have a right foot forward with the generic plate. When will it be available to purchase?
  5. I would be happy with auto start stop technology, think of how many hours you put on a boat setting at the end of the lake shortening a rope and taking a short break, I would say 50% of your time is sitting at the ends
  6. I did not participate even though I was qualified and I was even there with my daughter to ski. She skied well and placed but why do I want to pay the money to finish middle of the pack in Men's 3. I know USA Waterski wants the numbers up for sponsors and venders etc. but it seems like to many people can qualify for nationals, when's the last time someone out of the the top 15 podiumed? Seems like there should be less particapents and a shorter Nationals. I don't even mind the single round, it's nationals, the "elite" of the sport. Also I have no opinion on practice my daughter and I never practice at any site, I think the buoys are supposed to be the same distance apart from each other from one site to the next.
  7. Practice? isn't that what your first two opening passes are for?
  8. 2003 Mastercraft PS197 with a bobtail 2010 MCX with ZeroOff. The MCX engine has 950 hours the haul has 2550 hours on it. I would say the gel is a 7.5 out of 10 and the interior is 6 out of 10. Heater, hot shower, heated seats, tower, trailer completely gone through, new brakes, LED lights bearings etc.. I know its hard to say with out pictures but I'm looking for a ball park, i have an idea what I was going to post it for but wanted to make sure I wasn't out to lunch.
  9. I like the idea. I don't ski many tournaments a year but when I aged up to M3 I stopped skiing tournaments all together because I didn't want to go 34. 4 years later I started skiing tournaments again when my daughter started skiing them. If I could have kept skiing at 36 I probably would have kept skiing those 4 years. I also a agree that 38'@36mph isn't equivalent to 39'@34mph, but under this proposed rule I could chose whichever I think I can put a better score. Also I would think the better skiers would opt to run max speeds, so IWF ranking lists wouldn't change.
  10. I got a jump this year from a club that was going under, it needed some severe maintenance, but it is looking good now. I college about 30 minutes away contacted my about using it. I'm unsure if I want to take this liability risk, but also don't want to be exclusive and want the sport to grow. What would you guys do? and what would you charge? I lease the boat based on hours so I need to cover that at least...
  11. yes a little to wide at the waist, but it is still a great top
  12. After using any of the above methods for cleaning, waxing is a must. If you don't wax it will yellow again much quicker.
  13. @Murrski did you wear the gloves under your normal ski gloves? you think you will have any issue with durability of the gloves?
  14. Unfortunately I don't have access to a diacom, but if someone in the Phoenix area has one and will let me borrow it... Original rotor and cap, that is on my list to change, the contact points of the rotor are a little carbon-ed up but not horrible. Yes fuel pressure gauge was installed under load and never fluctuated more than 59 to 60 psi. Fuel quality was good as well. Thought about exhaust blockage but would expect more of an issue all of the time. I was thinking maybe the MAP sensor?
  15. One other piece of the puzzle. With light skiers, everything is fine. For a 34 mph skiers it's not as bad as 36 mph skiers. And if someone has a big turn somewhere it happens earlier. I do think it is some cumulative effect.
  16. 900 hours, zero issues until this. I'm pretty positive that it's not ZO related since I tried hand driving, and still had issues about the second half of the course. All grounds seem good, etc. motor has been serviced regularly.
  17. I've got a 2010 MCX running soft the second half of the slalom course. Runs great with no skier behind the boat, will run 40+ all day long, idols fine, will rip your arms off when getting a skier out of the water. 1st half of the course runs fine gasses fine when the skier pulls but buy ball three when you go to gas it doesn't respond and by ball four forget it. Happens with Zero-Off on, Zero-Off in RPM mode and even when hand driving with Zero-Off off. I've checked fuel pressure, its 59 to 60 PSI from idol to WOT and when pulling a skier, which I believe is in the range where it should be. I've got a few ideas but wanted to see if anyone would come up with something different. I wish I had access to a scan tool but I don't.
  18. Oh and I will be putting in a jump next year. No one in the club besides my family will most likely use it, so I was not going to pass that expense on to anyone else. If people want to jump in the future I was going to add an additional jump fee.
  19. @GregHind I thought about the Lower upfront cost $1,000 plus $3 a pass, but the people that actually responded to my questions had an easier time with the larger up front cost. Maybe they felt like they were not getting nickel and dimed. So far 7 of the 10 people said they would be back at the new increase price. I also did say if they could find a better club price in the USA that included boat and gas I would match it. After reading all your responses, I'm not to worried about that happening.
  20. Thanks for all the feedback. Yes the $1,925 does include gas. I did send out a budget for were the break down was, lake rent, boat cost, gas, course supplies etc. so everyone could see how there money is being spent. I did offer another plan of $500 up front and $5 dollars a pass so about $30 for a typical set extra. I didn't track sets last year but passes everyone skied, so If I divide the passes by 6 to get a set count, most everyone was in the mid to high 60's. I had one person in the 30's. All the clubs around me charge anywhere between $1,850 to $2,500 not including gas. I would hate to see people leave, but at the same time I hate being taken advantage of. And it seems like there will always be a back fill of people.
  21. Over the past 7 years I have been renting a lake in the middle of a corn field for what I consider a steal. At the inception of the club I was the only one with a boat and the only one that could afford it. We started with three members who split the cost of the lake rent; I took the hit on the boat, just so I would have people to ski with. As the years went by the club is up to 10 people now and I’m still taking the hit on the boat. A although I’m not aware of everyone’s finical status I can say that everyone else in the club has multiple toys: motorcycles, snowmobiles, cars, etc. so I would think it is time for them to pony up. Bottom line, although I can afford it, I don’t think it is fair to shoulder the burden any longer. So I was going to up the club membership for the 10 people to $1,925. Which includes the use of the lake, depreciation on a 2015 MC Prostar and any gas that is needed. This will be roughly $1,000 more than what people are paying now. I’m I being unreasonable?
  22. If you look at the cost of a new boat and you are looking to just cover the depreciation of the new boat your looking at almost $2 a pass plus about $1 for gas for each pass. So at $3 bucks a pass 6 passes is going to be $18. If someone is willing to pull an out of towner on their private lake I would hope you would be willing to fork over at least $20 if not more to say thank you.

    Boat "funk"

Use diluted solution of simple green, stay away from soap, if you don't get it all out it will attract dirt. Then rinse with fabric softener, fluffs the carpet back up and make it smell fresh, rinse then rinse some more. Shop vac up the water, then put in the damp rid buckets until its completly dry.
