  1. Anybody skiing Weds morning In Newberry Springs? I may be heading that way to Phoenix since Eric is not around in Imperial Vally.
  2. wondering the same I will be in San Diego Sept 18th
  3. I guess my z-box must be before there was a setting. Either that or I missed something.
  4. Is your Stargazer going wonky (technical term)!!!! search for wonky. Read the thread and ignore the fresh air info. This is what I had to do to dial mine in.
  5. I had an FAE on my 2007 LXI with a hammerhead engine. As stated by everyone the boat is so quite you can hear the wake. The hole shot was the issue for me. The start up power seemed to be reduced significantly. We are at altitude here so maybe the exhaust restriction put the Hammerhead over the edge. Or maybe the FAE doesn't work well with the tuned headers. I don't wake surf enough to use it so I have it removed. Hole shot is good again.
  6. I have several and always get asked about them. Down side is then I have to admit I know and like John. I even had to admit this to @MS and his wife several years ago. They still let me ski with them.
  7. @Horton Thanks John didn't realize it was after the tricks. I kept searching the wrong streams.
  8. Missed the finals. Know the results just want to see the finals. Anybody know were they can be seen? The webcast does not appear to have them.
  9. I have skied all around the country with other Ballers and also at ski schools. I have always found the people that step up and offer to take time out of their lives to drag me through the course are great. Everywhere that I have skied I have always been very grateful and did not care about the price. It was the experience and the realization that there are also others as addicted to this crazy fun sport as me. Even the ski schools I go to are still a great deal since it is the getting there and the hotel costs that are the primary expense. The coaching is always worth way over the actual price of the set in these situations. I have skied a couple of times with @Horton and besides me being an enigma to him (why the hell do I ski so badly) he has always been a fantastic host. if any of you are in the Pueblo area I will pull you for free as I am paying it forward. As for the original thread I now have a couple of contacts in the Phoenix area that have offered to let me ski if time permits. This is one of the reasons I am a part of Ball of Spray. Wishing everyone a great 2019 season. Thanks to the OP for posting and sorry it became a discussion on what a set should be. BTW if you just want to try skiing a course for the first time your probably not here on Ball of Spray looking for a ski pull but if your near Pueblo and the water is not solid ping me. @scotchipman I have to get out your way this summer.
  10. Thank you @dbaconaz and @SusanT . I know about Ed and firebird lake. If i am in Chandler I will be 5 miles from both Firebird and Crystal point, 12 miles from Santan and 25 from Buchli. Daves lake looks more like what I am use to (rural). Just trying to get info.
  11. @scotchipman when was the last time you asked? I am trying to contact dave via his gmail account. The website has no new info since 2017. Also a baller had a house for sale on buchli lake that I guess was sold several years ago. He has since left the skiing scene. Anybody got contact info for Dave?
  12. Talked to some Bergan skiers last season and the water ski lease was pulled because the lake shore owners were seeing to much erosion from the big wake boats. Also heard that there were some owner leaser issues with noise and boater attitude. Glad soda is at least offering rides. I'm not to sure the cost is significantly different under the new management. If you don't belong to a private ski lake here there are no other options for course slalom skiing.
  13. Sorry to hear that. The swamp was great. Understand the weed control issue and the biting fish. In Florida with the same weeds I would be worried about other larger biters. Also sorry didn't get to meet up when you were out here. Maybe a chance meeting in Florida some time is in the works.
  14. I love skiing Hobe with Wim and Ed. Fantastic set-up and great people.
