  1. @jdarwin Impossible! It must pass through Horton first!!
  2. You must be part owner of Kilo Kai....therefore just paying yourself. Doesn't count
  3. Is it an open bow? Is it a closed bow? Coupe or convertible? Maybe its a hybrid.... Why choose when you can have both?
  4. For the record. If you ever click anything....you can "unclick" it by simply tapping it again!
  5. I dont really care so much about how it looks. How does it ski?? Mastercraft has always put out the best looking boat in my opinion. When I was first starting to ski, looks would have been reason enough for me to buy one over the competition. Not anymore!
  6. I agree with changing the exit gates for safety. Plus it only makes sense given the arguments posed by OB. (distance to get back to the wake after 6 should be the same as 2 and 4) However, NOTHING will make slalom skiing any more spectator friendly. Big spray is cool and all, but it looks the same at 28 off as it does at 38. No average spectator can tell or appreciate the difference. The only people that truly appreciate it are the ones that know the difficulty associated with it. And unless you've been behind a boat and attempted it, you wouldn't know. The only way to grow spectators in our sport is to grow participation in our sport.
  7. Why is your answer "no"? I believe you can "opt up" at any time for any reason. However, you will be skiing "at risk"!
  8. I dont know the rulebook inside and out....but I can't think of any reason that the skier wouldn't have the option to opt up....even if its the first pass.
  9. @Zman Yep....I've skied at Acworth a time or two!
  10. @Monkstr6100 This is the BEST video I can find regarding down course speed and its relationship with pulling too long. The key is that you have to generate ALL your speed and angle BEFORE coming off the second wake. Its not always easy to do, but its what you should be striving for! @Sethski breaks it down about is simply and clearly as possible. Truly a brilliant video!
  11. Usually, the cause of slack is too much down course speed. There are several things that can cause too much down course speed. Poor angle through the wakes, pulling too long, or too aggressive of an edge change can all cause excess down course speed.
  12. Not that I know of @MattP. But who know what may surface in the coming months.
  13. @Zman I ski in Georgia and there are very few REL tournaments nearby. Little Mountain in NC is probably the closest and has been full every time I've tried to enter. The only other times I've skied in an REL is at Regionals and Nationals....and there is definitely added pressure to perform. As mentioned earlier by someone else, you also only get one shot in these tournaments. Most of the C's are 2 or 3 rounds. I've found it quite amazing how different lakes ski. It usually takes me a round to figure out how to ski a certain site. For example, Okeeheelee water skis WAY different than Atlanta water. If I had 2 or 3 rounds though, I'd probably end up with better scores.
  14. Another one of @MattP's students showing us his stuff at the Ball of Spray Atlanta Pro-Am
  15. yea....thats not gonna cut it. Saying you read it on another forum would've been an acceptable answer....but you still dont KNOW that. I was thinking it was someone you may have known.
  16. @E_T I have to ask, how do you know that?
  17. I remember when I was growing up how nervous and even mad my mother would get at other "idiot" boaters around us. She was always concerned about our safety and was especially fearful when we'd fall in the middle of a busy lake. As much as I wish waterskiing was more in the public eye and not isolated to private lakes, this video is another great argument for staying off public water.
  18. @colo_skier Dang! That's one of the deepest scorpions I've ever seen! She's lucky the ski didn't hit her in the back of the head! Or did it??
  19. I know his name. His dealership is well known down there. I just connected the dots today. I don't have a way of getting in touch with him minus contacting the dealership.
  20. I'm skiing M2 nationals on August 16th. My wife wants to tag along but wants to stop in her hometown (Lake Wales) along the way to visit her parents. Any ballers know anyone in that area that may be willing to let me get a final pull before skiing Nationals? Was hoping to try and find someone to ski with on August 14. Thanks!
  21. Its a very small pool of people that have ridden both. @ShaneH's advice seems pretty solid!
  22. Moving write up Dave. Sounds like an amazing guy. Thoughts and prayers are with you, Jim, your father, and the rest of those around you guys.
