  1. oh....and South Carolina too @JohnCox. :-)
  2. @6balls Just a weekend place for now. Wife works downtown and she's not willing to make the commute....yet. But if you're gonna fly yourself down....definitely fly into Pickens like OB said. We'll have you guys down, a few folks up from Atlanta and Florida and make it a little ski party!
  3. @6balls Atlanta is still the best to fly into. Its about 75 miles from the airport....99% interstate.
  4. @OB Remind me to never park in slot D3 again!
  5. There were some signs this morning that it's gonna be a good day! @OB's parking receipt: My parking receipt:
  6. @Wish Its lot 15 on that map you posted. There are a few lots for sale there now...and most of them are less than a new boat. I'd love to get some more active skiers up there.
  7. Plenty of space @chris_logan. Come on!
  8. There are 3 others on the water but they are all tucked back in the woods. The problem at Whitestone is not lack of available water time, it's lack of people to ski with.
  9. @ThePantsManCan I wish. It was a foreclosure. To say I stole it may be an understatement. I'd rather be lucky than good any day!
  10. I have to say that yesterday was one of the most exciting days in my life as a waterskier. My wife and I closed on a home at Whitestone Lake Estates in North Georgia. Some of you may be familiar with the site as it has hosted Southern Regionals and was a stop on the 2008 Pro Tour. We have 2 lakes with a Nautique on each one. And yes, the dining room is pink.....for now. Come visit and ski with us sometime!!! @6balls, now you and @Razorskier1 dont have an excuse to not come visit!
  11. @Jody_Seal Thanks for all your help at Nationals, specifically pulling M2 slalom. 2 more years for me!
  12. @MattP Looking at the nationals website....it may not be telling the entire story on missed gates. A skier in my division ran his 35 but missed his gates at 38. His score shows 6@35 off.....not 0@38.
  13. This thing is AWESOME! Its so easy to get repeatable, quick, accurate numbers over and over! Later, I'll post up some "crossover" numbers comparing my slot caliper with the Axiom. A HUGE thanks to Jim over at Axiom. If you haven't checked this thing out yet....you need to.
  14. @Horton You gotta pay to play....but @OB said he'd pencil you in.....right below his name.
  15. Im mildly surprised that a helicopter can fly while its rotor blades are stationary! :)
  16. @markchilcutt There are 40 M3 skiers currently registered for this years slalom event. You would be seeded 32nd with your 96.67 score
  17. You are confusing 2 measurements. Will increasing length increase the depth? Yes. But when you increase the length, you'll also need to remeasured depth and set it back to its previous depth....while still maintaining the new length. When you increase length, make sure you only do it be pulling down the front, or tip of the fin. And recheck that you have NOT also increased depth. Length and depth are 2 different measurements. You can and should change one without changing the other. Increased tip or increased length pull the front of the ski into the water in the offside turn. Less tip or length raises the tip of the ski out of the water.
  18. @markchilcutt Yes, you must compete in Regionals. If your ranking average qualifies you for nationals, your placement doesn't matter. But you must compete if you don't have a medical waiver.

  20. Keep in mind that as you speed the boat up, the wake will get flatter and be easier to cross. My advice would be to go back to 15 or 22 off and start speeding the boat up. Unfortunately, without a speed control system, it'll be hard for you to get a consistent pull. What part of the country are you in? If you're new to the sport and looking to get into it, there may be a baller on here that could help get you more involved, coach you, and get you behind a nice boat with Zero Off on it. But like I said before, if you're having fun and thats your goal.....nothing else really matters And at your age, your top speed would be 36 mph in a tournament. It slows down to 34 when you turn 35 years old
  21. Keep in mind that the pros are skiing at 36 mph. There is a HUGE difference between 36 and 32. How old are you? Your top speed is probably 34 or 36 depending on your age.
