  1. @Chuck_Dickey, I bought that fin guard and immediately sent it back. It is WAY too tight on the fin AND scratches the bottom of your ski
  2. @OB Maybe you aren't familiar with the HO animal plate? I'm pretty sure it would only work if I didn't cant my rear boot. Am I wrong here?
  3. I was just starting to come around to the idea that this makes sense. I'm running a Reflex front with HO Animal rear.....then I realized that this won't work on my rear boot....
  4. Firkin Fin!!!! I emailed him asking if the firkin would fit over a ski sock. His response?? He went and found a ski like mine and a ski sock.....and custom made one!! He sent it to me saying, "if you don't like it, you don't have to pay me". Needless to say, it fit great.....and now I'm a huge fan!!!!
  5. One of the major problems with many release systems is the difficulty in a straight OTF crash. I think the OTF release in the demo above is very impressive
  6. @Horton, I'm confused why you're surprised at the lack of buzz. When you were previously hinting at "the next big thing" to come in the water ski industry, you didn't shy away from implying that most skiers wouldn't need it
  7. @kfennell The OB4 system is actually a re-engineering of a system that has been in use for decades. To say it is "unproven" isn't quite accurate.
  8. He edited this post on his FB page. It now says, "This is a test ad". Guess he got called out....
  9. @Horton, please explain the reason for your panda
  10. I wonder what kind of demo program he will offer, if any. I definitely wouldnt fork out that kind of money on a ski without being able to try it out first. D3 has the best demo program in the industry. I imagine that Schnitz would have a hard time offering something similar.
  11. According to the timeline @chris_logan, I edged you out!
  12. @BMG73 I'm pretty sure that when you buy the OB4 system, you are buying the plate/plates and the release mechanisms. As far as I understand, you can use any boot shell/liner to mount to the OB4 release system. So if you like reflex, fogman, goode, fluid motion, even rollerblade, you can use them with this system.
  13. I should encourage my wife to set up a BallofSpray account and let her take all of us to school on this topic....
  14. I just saw they updated their Facebook page with the final anodized product. Looks pretty clean!
  15. I thought these looked pretty mean! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBwI_tXX6SE
  16. Had this on my Quest last season. No fade line or trace that it was ever there. Ski looks BRAND NEW. Its for sale by the way!
  17. @countymountie It simply provides a protective layer on the ski. However, because it creates a rubber-like coating.....the surface where its applied will be much less slick than the ski....almost "grippy". @Waternut The same argument could be applied to ski socks and fin blocks.....
  18. People are doing entire cars with the stuff now. It comes in multiple colors and you can get a gloss clear coat as well. And if you dont like it....peel the whole thing off!
  19. @BraceMaker You got it. PlastiDip is the name of the product. It creates a latex-like rubber coating after you spray several coats. It is easily removed and peels off in one huge sheet if you'd like. My 2013 Quest doesn't have a single scratch on it from bindings. Its a GREAT way to protect/preserve your ski!
