  1. Don't know of any courses on Sinclair. But just south of the lake off 441 is a private lake owned by Bruce Culpepper. I don't know if anyone is still skiing out there or not. Bruce's jump used to be on Sinclair. Stop by Dukes, grab a cold drink and give your karaoke skills a whirl. Downtown Milledgeville is a small college town with some good restaurants and nightlife. The lake itself is pretty quiet most of the time, except for holiday weekends.
  2. @skihard I just sold my home on Whitestone Lakes in North Georgia. As much as I wanted to "pay it forward" and sell it to another skier, I only had one skier contact me about the property. A non-skier bought it.
  3. @jhughes Maybe he needs to add "Nautique skiing" to this routine....
  4. @bishop8950 I've always heard that they wanted to get the "ballast" out of the rear of the boat for improved wakes and that moving the tank resulted in the V-drive set-up. Maybe someone on here really knows. One thing is for certain, the Infinity definitely had some outside the box design on it. That decreased drive shaft angle on the V-drive also resulted in more direct thrust. That thing would come out of the hole FAST. I also heard that they had played with the idea of doing a triple rudder on that boat as well
  5. Got my wife they Lyric as well. Can't go wrong there
  6. @scotchipman Earlier you said that you'd been suggesting to manufacturers for 5 years that they should move the gas tank in front of the engine. Well, this isn't a new thing in the world of ski boats. If anyone remembers Rob Shirley's Infinity boats circa 2000......gas tank was in front of the engine. My understanding is that this caused them to have to move the engine back and a direct drive wouldn't work, hence the center mounted V-drive. Interesting to see that idea come back almost 20 years later. Wonder what Nautiqe did to pull of the forward gas tank without sacrificing a direct drive setup. Second thought, as a taller driver, I definitely griped about the previous generation's seat height. The top line of the windshield was always in my line of sight. Glad to see that they've dropped it back down. However, if you've been used to driving 200's, I'm sure it'll take some time getting used to a totally different site picture to find your consistent center line!
  7. @Chef23 One can only hope! They do have young kids. It would be silly not to give it a whirl with 2 world class ski lakes, a jump, and 2 Nautique 200's in your backyard!
  8. Well, I was really hoping a skier would snatch this up. Under contract in 10 days to a non-skier.
  9. @cragginshred $1000 annual POA. $9 per set (6 slalom passes) covers everything else.
  10. @RAWSki No limit on the amount of owners per lot. Limit on lake rights per lot.
  11. @LakeOneSkier It is. Thanks! We put a lot into it and were planning to keep it indefinitely. Unfortunately, with a couple of nagging injuries, I haven't been able to ski since 2016. And now that my wife and I have an infant with plans for more, and both of our jobs now being based in Atlanta, getting to enjoy it like we were planning just hasn't panned out.
  12. @Brady Sounds tempting. Just not sure how MY wife would feel about that. haha
  13. Here you go @UWSkier . A video is surely worth more than 200 photos ;) The house makes an appearance through the trees at 3:18
  14. The photos are supposed to pique your curiosity, not satisfy it! Ha
  15. Home just listed in Whitestone Lake Estates, just 1 hour north of Atlanta. Being sold fully furnished! Property owners get full access to 2 world class ski lakes and 2 Nautique 200’s. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/Talking-Rock-GA/105264680_zpid/9756_rid/globalrelevanceex_sort/34.752896,-84.282647,34.348538,-84.752312_rect/10_zm/
  16. @sodbuster88 I had C6-C7 ACDF back in August. Mine was from a motorcycle accident. Still have a good bit of atrophy and weakness in my left arm, shoulder, chest, lat from nerve root compression.
  17. I have mixed feelings on this topic now. If you'd asked me 6 months ago, I would've said everything that everyone above me is saying, "These exercises are good when performed properly". Well, I can confidently say that I've been performing these exercises properly for several years now.....but I may never do them again. Despite all of my efforts of proper form, weight control, mobility, core strength, etc....I find myself with an injury that has been caused by excess stress on the back and spine. No matter how strong your core is or how perfect your form is, you're still putting load on your spine. And lots of load over a lot of time can lead to disc degeneration and injury. Overall, I say they are both good exercises when done properly for most people. But if you do ever feel discomfort or pain, listen to your body and STOP.
  18. My boxer Jaxon waiting to chase the Nautique at Whitestone Lakes.
  19. @ktm300 Thanks for the insight. My first visit they did an x-ray and suspected the pars fracture. An MRI was then suggested. I had an MRI done last week which confirmed the pars fracture and also revealed the issue with the disc and the L5 bruising. Fortunately for me, Emory Ortho and Spine has a great reputation and is right in my back yard. I have my first PT session on Wednesday. @scoke I agree 100%. The difference between 36 and 34 and how it impacts the body is enormous. I remember my FIRST set at 34 was on the way home from my last M2 nationals. I ran 38 that day and also went home with a very sore back. I'm going to be trying multiple things to try and expedite healing and prevent future injury. Physical therapy, joint supplements, inversion table, modified activity, etc. Hope to see you on the water this summer!
  20. @Wish What is proper and improper use of an inversion table?
  21. Towards the end of last season, low back pain during skiing became almost unbearable so I ended the season early and skipped Nationals. I was hoping that some time off would allow some healing. However, after 9 months of nagging, sometimes debilitating back pain, I finally went to a sports med./spine doctor. The diagnosis is an L5 pars defect (stress fracture), L5/S1 disc disease, and a bruised L5 vertebrae. By the nature of these injuries, it is my suspicion that my normal activities of weight lifting and water skiing have contributed to my current state. The options presented to me were fusion or physical therapy. I was told a fusion would be a short term solution but that I may find myself right back where I am a few years down the road. So, I'll be taking the physical therapy route. Ive been told no more squats or dead lifts. However, he says I should be able to continue skiing. But at this moment, its hard to envision that happening without significant pain. Has anyone else dealt with this? What was your course of action? Were you able to get back to skiing? Any and all advice and insight is greatly appreciated
  22. I'm pretty sure that Rob Shirley proposed a triple rudder design to MasterCraft almost 20 years ago. Needless to say it was never produced. Shortly thereafter Rob started Infinity. The Infinity incorporated another outside the box design.....the inboard v-drive
  23. Some of you may remember this post from almost 3 years ago. A few weeks ago, Shawn was involved in ANOTHER terrible accident while working for his family's tow truck business. Shawn was again hospitalized and in critical condition. Unfortunately, he did not make it out this time. Shawn leaves behind a wife and 3 children.
