  1. The one on my 2017 weighs 62 lbs. I would think they'd be the same. They look just alike.
  2. I'd be curious to know exactly where you're going to put it. I might consider that myself.
  3. I would suggest an HO Wide Omni (not carbon). The regular version would have more flex for rough conditions.
  4. Awesome (from Dollar General) and a scrub brush. A bucket of clean water and a rag to wipe it off.
  5. I just bought a 67 Wide Carbon Omni and have skied on it twice. For reference I weigh 190 and the ski is designed for 200-250 lbs. Turns incredibly and turns are really smooth. It will turn way quicker than I need it to. Skiing 30 mph, 15 off.It is the easiest ski to get up on I've ever used and I've had quite a few. So much so I had to get the driver to back off on the throttle. If there's a downside it does seem to bounce a little more across the wakes and I really have to keep it on edge. It may be due to being under the weight rating.I had a 69 Carbon Omni 2 years ago and really loved that ski. Probably should have kept it. Also rated 200-250 and I weighed 200 at the time.
  6. It will definitely cause a noise in the strut bearing. I just had my 2017 Prostar with 213 hours aligned. No idea why it was out so bad and so soon. One thing you can check. Look under the boat where the shaft comes out of the boat. It should be close to center of the hole. Before the alignment, mine was at the bottom of the hole and it is centered now.
  7. I've owned 3 nautiques and a have a MC now. Between those choices, definitely Nautique.
  8. 67" HO Omni or Carbon Omni. Weight range is 150 - 200. Great ski. Highly recommend.
  9. @Mastercrafter Thanks! Which way would you recommend? Another question... there are 4 screws in the floor panel. Are they holding the floor panel or is it just laying in there? On my Nautiques in the past it was just laying in there. Also looks like the fire extinguisher has to be disconnected. Is there anything special that needs to be done there?
  10. I also need help / suggestions for removing the motorbox. I don't see a way to disconnect the hinges from the floor panel. Something I read somewhere else seemed to say to leave the motorbox connected to the floor panel.
  11. @Gloersen when this started a couple of weeks ago, I checked the prop and it needed tightening and the cotter pin was missing. I tightened the prop and it seems like it stopped for a while but the noise started again. The prop is still tight.
  12. @BraceMaker I could be wrong, but I don't think it's the shifter but I will check those things you mentioned the next time I put it in. Thank you.
  13. On the damper plate, what would be the solution there?
  14. 5 mph then clicking into neutral. Boat has 207 hours.
  15. I use 2 arm lengths of slack (about 12 feet). When I'm driving I idle, then take off when all of the slack is out (except the 12 feet). I just take off then like I'm pulling a skier normally.
  16. ... and boat is still moving. It sounds like the shaft is making a noise. Any ideas?
  17. I've been skiing on a Katana this year and got a Union and just skied on it for the first time (free skiing). My observations so far: Easier to get up on than Katana (surprised). Wake crossings are not noticeably different. Feels a little different coming out of the turn. Wants to hunt an edge a little where the Katana doesn't. May turn a little smoother. Skiing 28 to 29 mph, 15 off. I ran a 28.6 pass on the Katana on the course Saturday. Last year I was skiing on a Carbon Omni. Best last year was 4 a 32 / 15 off. So far I like it! All of the skis mentioned are 69s. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's experience with it.
  18. @ironhorse I would never have thought to choose that color scheme but it looks awesome!
  19. Did you see this thread?: https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/24359/how-to-improve-my-slalom-first-year-and-coming-up-on-my-last-weekend-looking-for-some-tips
  20. @smokevw Yes I would shorten the rope to 28 off where the wake is smaller and the boat speed probably at 28 or 30, depending on your ski. I think the main objective is to keep your shoulders back just like he's doing in the drill and keeping your ski on edge THROUGH the wakes. I think your weight should be fairly balanced from front to back all the way through the drill.
  21. I agree with Keith that wakes would be the first thing to work on. Take a look at this video: When you start doing this drill I would start just a few feet outside the wake then gradually increase your distance outside the wake.
  22. @Vernon Reeve - just curious as to what kind of vest you were using. Thanks for the info.
  23. @Ski2000 I'm betting it's out of place. If it is, the sooner you get it back in place, the better.
