  1. So you've got 2 different parties with different definitions of "reasonable". That's the opposite of unambiguous.
  2. I think almost all of us are familiar with "you're responsible for your own wake", but that is so subjective that it means nothing. Until it's codified into unambiguous terms, nothing will change.
  3. Cut the heads off of two or three old bolts to use as a guide for the new manifolds - once you have the old manifold off and cleaned up the surface, loosely thread them into the block, hang the new gasket in place over them, put the new manifold in place, then after you've got 3 or 4 new bolts in remove the headless bolts and continue. Trying to have someone hold a 50 lb manifold in place while you're trying to line up the gasket and thread a new bolt in is really hard.
  4. Your local gas station will too!
  5. Around the 5:10 mark, when they claim "til now no one has tried to understand", that's when they lost me. What an ignorant statement, especially from a company that works with sensors - a concept that's been in many, many fields (including skiing) for decades.
  6. Respect the hell out of the idea of filming the first pass of the year
  7. While folks are arguing over whether it's possible & profitable & all that nonsense, they already did it. https://ingenityelectric.com/models/nautique-gs22e/
  8. @Golfguy that kind of FUD & backwards thinking gets you back to not only a horse or walking 100% of the time, but also trading your phone in for a telegraph, your toilet for a hole in the yard, a block of ice in a closet instead of a fridge, & most relevantly a sailboat instead of a ski boat. When you're "just saying" it means you skipped the important step of "thinking before you speak".
  9. @Cnewbert can confirm, I've skied Cochituate & Quinsig so many times & it turns out I just suck
  10. I enjoy mine, though I'm not really a course skier & haven't taken any falls on them yet. Wish I had known they were going to release the adapter plate before I drilled into my ski though.
  11. Came very close to running over a jet skier once. To this day I will never, ever ride on one of those things.
  12. Just got an offer back in Boston after 2 years of funemployment. Gotta move away from the lake house, but at least now I can afford gas. Anyone up for a summer's worth of pulls outside of the hub?
  13. @Horton, the fiberglass has seen better days, but it still puts out a beautiful wake after all these years. /vanilla2/uploads/FileUpload/4/804.jpg

  15. Finally got on the water for the first time. It was great to get my ass out of the water, but between the wind, the debris in the lake, & the fact that my vest & gloves are MIA, it wasn't the greatest. Latest I've gotten wet in the past 4 years, but tomorrow's forecast looks enticing.
  16. Water is cold enough for my parents to worry about hypothermia. Gotta get wet & raise the boat lift tomorrow while the sun makes a rare appearance. 2 years ago I had been skiing for 5 weeks at this point...
  17. One thing that works for me is hopping on a swing set - there are some parallels to the course.
  18. 28 next week, but enough gray hair to pass for 45.
  19. Had a few flakes in upstate NY today. Boat's going in Friday come hell or cold water, I can't stand it anymore.
  20. It's all fun and games until someone substitutes rubber bands for hard work and buoy counts start falling...
