  1. 68" I have read on here that binding position is usually further ahead but I ride front foot heavy and the water was breaking under my toes.
  2. Finally got a chance to demo a Radar Vapor today, Liked how free it felt BUT the water was about 50 F and a little choppy and the ski reacted to every ripple and roller in a big way is this fin setting or how the design reacts to cold firm water. I skied my strada first and had no real issues with water conditionsand they where worse.
  3. It usually doesn't blow the fuse that quick but if your connection at the safety switch is bad or the switch is bad it will present the same way you can put a jumper wire in to test. I agree that it is probably a fuel pump issue. that is what the lanyard switch turns off.

OMG been laughing so hard at all the stories thought I would share our closest call. 1996 I Finally convinced my wife the kids where big enough not to fall out of an inboard so I bought my 1st one at age 32 with kids ranging from 4 to 9, the next purchase was a boom "for the kids to learn how to ski". So I convinced my wife to drive the boat while I bare footed on the boom. We started across the lake and I was up and footing about half way across we hit some rollers and I fell and just like when I was a kid I didn't let go and went to pull myself back up just as my wife throttles down, I end up flipping over the boom my wife see's that I am still there and throttles back up, but now the cable on the boom wrapped around my neck and I am upside down head under water and feet in the air, now my wife is scared and doesn't know what to do and starts her nervous laugh with my 5 & 6 year old daughters sitting next to her. she eventually gets the boat stopped and I get myself untangled from the cables and stop coughing and gagging. I still have that wet suit with the the cuts around the neck and one of the arms. 17 years & 3 boats later my daughters still get freaked out when I barefoot one won't even go in the boat if she knows there is a chance I might go. I still don't let go if I fall but she doesn't slow down.
  5. A lot of good comments and recommendations. But having been stuck at 15 & 22 for a very long time the one thing that has helped me is to remember that really the only thing that needs to go around those buoy's is the ski. At 15 & 22 off I was skiing my whole body around the ball, In doing this it is very hard to have a proper pre turn and almost impossible to end up stacked correctly with angle to the wake (not the next ball). I just started figuring this out and clicking in the last month and I finally understand what a pro told me a while ago. " dude you are working way to hard for what your getting" I am truly using about 1/2 the energy at 28off that I used to at 34, 15off. good luck
  6. Heading to Bakersfield in October for some INT fun. looking for a place to get a couple sets in (coming out of probably 50 degree water to much warmer) is there any place closer that Horton ski lakes? thanks
  7. at 205lbs I like C3 when going 34 and 36mph hits hard but lets go at wake. when I play at 30 for wide ride I have to use B2 or I end up sinking in around the ball, B2 is an easier pull but throws me into the ball faster. I also used the chart referenced above to figure this out.

I ran into this last year on a 2002 with a lot of hours. intermittent skips I to went through trying to make it a fuel issue, finally put a jumper wire in place of the safety switch and it ran great. replaced the switch all is good. (the safety switch shuts down the fuel pump on the motor when the lanyard is pulled if there is a bad connection or a faulty switch it cuts the fuel pump out and back on quickly reducing fuel pressure, but when sitting still at an idol it does not show as a problem.)     Zero Off surge

    The Zero Off in our 2009 Mastercraft 197 (MCX Engine) will some times surge up to 37.8 mph then slow to 34 it did this yesterday causing a fall as it slowed as the skier rounded 2 ball. we have randomly had this problem in the last 2 years that I have owned the boat then comes out of it for a while but only does it at 36. on a day when it is having spells it does not help to stop and shut down to reset. it does it in a mapped course and in open water. it is much worse using C3 than B2. Any advice thanks
  10. Usually the ski has 170 or 250 and you match it with 400. I bought my last batch from http://www.bindingsource.com/ it was the cheapest I had found someone on here gave me the link. hope this helps

  12. at what point are you better off to take your wing off rather than take angle out. bellow 7 or 5 or 3 ? ski was working great when water was below 55f now at 65f I am working hard to keep it out in front of me. skiing in the course 22 and 28 off 34 mph. goode wide 9900 66" 205lbs. yes I know my body position is wrong but with the metal in my back it is what it is.

I used to have issues with my 2002, I also called perfect pass and they where great I followed their instructions and it worked great then did the same thing, I reset it again and we all weighed 180lbs if we didn't change the weight it worked fine. you can adjust the RPM up and down to make times correct
  14. got the course in and Skied last week and the water still is only 49f still skiing backwards working on timing, form and muscles
  15. yes I agree the 196 has the best wake 15 to 22off 34mph and below but you will be in trouble at a tournament mentally or otherwise when the mastercraft comes to the dock. to say Mastercraft didn't do their home work on weight distribution is arbitrary with the variables involved, crew weight, fuel level, water temp (density), wind/chop. They have built a great family boat that works very well in the course. awesome for trick and jump as well. and if you have driven these boats much you know if they had another 100lbs built into the bow area you will always be dipping the bow under the waves
