  1. I've used the 140 for two seasons now - I would never consider buying anything else.
  2. I'm with @eleeski here - I got the same diagnosis. Hurt like crazy, so bad I woke up during the nights. Could only sleep when my arm was hanging down on the side of the bed laying on my stomach. Started working out with rubber bands to prepare for surgery. After 7 or 8 months when I finally got the date for surgery my shoulder was feeling a little better so I postponed it. 2 or 3 months later I cancelled the planned surgery as my shoulder was pretty much 100% and has been like this for the past 6 months. So, my advice is to ditch the surgery-plans, do the right exercises and expect your recovery to take a while. Getting back from a shoulder surgery is not done in a week either and once your cut, the "damage" is done...
  3. Thanks @brooks. Yes, I figured the 66 is a definitive boarderline. He's 5'4"-5'5" right now and will probably add another inch (or maybe event 2 during the winter). I'll have him try 28.75 and .745 and evaluate that. Will probably let him try the 66" just for fun. I believe it is good to try different skis, sometimes that will help you realize stuff about you own skiing that you weren't aware of.
  4. My son is currently riding a 2016 Vapor 65. He's just above 120 lbs and growing... Runs 32 off at 34 mph on a good day and will stay at 34 for another year. Every now and then it looks like he putting a bit too much weight on the tip. I'm going to let him demo a 66 Pro build (he loves his current ski). His setting on the 65 is; 6.958 2.463 0.728 9 degrees and binding at 29". Where should I get him started on the 66 Pro? I'm going to let my other youngster try the 63.5 Vapor (2016). What settings should I put him on to start with? He's 90 lbs and riding a 62.5 today. Thanks
  5. @skijay - Thanks! Your comment on "another factor... the handle suddenly accelerates to a down-course speed..." - I'm not going to claim that you're right nor wrong, but somehow I finally got I grip on WHY. For me, it makes total sense! Yes, I got it! Now all I have to do is do it!
  6. I put my youngster on a 63" D3 Nomad RC when he was 7 and could just about run the course. He was on that ski til he was around 5' and 100 lbs and went with a 64.5" ski. He ran 22 off @ 34 with his old d3. His younger brother has got the d3 now, he's 8 yo, 70 lbs, runs the mini-course at 21 mph and looks good on it. I believe the bigger ski helps him with his deep water starts. He's running slow speeds still, so the 63 gives him a good platform. I think that he would have to be running a lot faster speeds if I'm to put him on a smaller ski. I can really recommend the D3's skis for young kids (on the other hand - we never tried any other brands...).
  7. I've got a kid in boys 2 whom wants to increase his 800-points trick score during next year. From the looks of it, he needs to improve his agiltiy and flexibility a lot while he's up on his trick ski. He doesn't easiliy adapt to new movements and has a tendency to be rather stiff and is not very pliable on his ski. Has anyone got any good exercises to suggest for his off-season traning? Thanks
  8. @Laz, I've got a copy of your son. Mine is also a 10-y.o, 95 lbs, running deep 34 mph at 15 off. He's currently on an old D3 RC 63". I'm considering a Mapple 64.5 for next year, but it seems to be hard to get multiple advice on sizes. I'm not sure how much a kid at this age can give good feedback when trying different skis... He has tried my 66" skis and skied close to PB on them on the first set, but those skis are a bit too big for him anyway.
