  1. @kelvin, I totally forgot about that. Thanks
  2. @richardDone - look at rule 1.15 on page 5. When a judgment call is too close to call and cannot be decided by allowable reviews, then the benefit of the doubt shall go to the skier. Is that what you were looking for?
  3. @lancef The Dlx Optimized 2.0 has just a little more give to it than the Dlx Pro Mainline. I bought both ropes this year and pre-stretched them by using the ratcheting strap and fish scale method. I do not like bungee ropes but for the first time, we are using the Optimized 2.0 in our boat. It has some give but not too much. It just seems a little easier on the body. We used the Dlx Pro Mainlines for our tournaments. If you do not like any give in the rope, I would stick with the Dlx Pro Mainline. One additional note is that the Optimized 2.0 rope has slip knots but the Dlx does not.
  4. Breaking the ice to put the course in on March 5th.
  5. Mike Doleac who played in the NBA is a water skier. He skied at our lake a few years back. As I recall, he bought a CC 200 from one of our lake owners and even bought a summer membership at SunTen but I do not believe he used it. He played in college for the University of Utah and played in the NCAA finals in the late 90's. He was drafted 12th in the first round of the draft. After he retired from the NBA he moved back to Utah. Last I heard he was teaching physics and was the basketball coach at Park City High School. I have heard that he water skis on the local mountain lakes with his 200.
  6. It was an exciting mid October day at the lake yesterday. We got our new Prostar. We could not be happier. The boat is amazing. It drives incredible and skis great. Five people skied behind it ranging from 28 to 34 mph and all comments were positive. The wakes are shaped a little different but are still low and soft. As other people have noted, the boat is quiet. When I was skiing behind, I felt like we were not getting up to speed because it was so quiet. The hull shot was great with our short setups and our 5000' altitude. It is quicker up to speed with the four blade prop than our 2018 5.7 Prostar was with the three blade high altitude prop. We love the new look inside and out. We ordered it before the boat designer was available which made me nervous. We wanted lots of white to make it easier to clean but still wanted it to look good. We love how it looks. The entire process from ordering it to skiing behind it yesterday was perfect. Everything was what we expected and more. My day ended yesterday with my boat/ski partner sending me a text that said "Dang that is a good boat!"
  7. @thager, it was a 67" ski. I think the angle of the photo makes it look longer.
  8. Kris and Jennifer LaPoint and their dog Henry stopped by our lake yesterday. What a great ski experience. Some of us tried their new ski. Others got coaching on their own ski. I tried the new ski and really liked it. It was fast but yet it still turned really good for me. I usually have a harder time turning faster skis but this one worked. I am definitely thinking about buying one. The coaching was very positive and worded in ways that you could understand what they were saying and wanting us to do. They were so kind and generous with their time. As I have gotten older, I have been struggling to cross the wake on my off side, At the end of the day, Kris spent extra time with me giving me some additional tips and tools to help work on the problem. They said they would be back next year sometime after nationals which I am already looking forward to.
  9. I can't stop watching this webcast. The camera angles are great. Here is Freddy right next to the boat coming off the 4 ball @ -41. From the side.
  10. Great announcing and webcast. Like how I can watch it later in the day on YouTube. Did anyone else notice how close Thibaut was to the jump after he missed the four ball at -39.5?
  11. Wondering if anyone has any insight or has noticed that when designing a 2021 Prostar interior the 2nd base color is the large section on top of the engine cover. However, in actual boats that section is the regular base color. For example, this design has Viper Red 2nd base. This photo below the 2nd base color is a blue but the bigger color on top of the engine is the base color, Platinum. Hopefully this makes sense. I noticed this in Mid July with the skittles photo that the dealers were using. Depending on the color choices, it could really change how the interior looks.
  12. @LoopSki So sorry. Did you by chance try to track it? I had had to track my Mavic Pro once and was able to get the exact GPS coordinates of where it landed. After a hike in the woods, we found it. All was well.
  13. Just curious who has ordered a new Prostar or thinking of ordering one? If so, what colors and options? Since there are not very many out yet, it is hard for me to visualize the different color options together. Also, what are your thoughts on the ballast tank? It seems like the boat is more level than it used to be and the tank takes up a lot of room in front of the passenger's seat. Thanks in advance for your comments. Over the last two years, I have become a big Prostar fan and I am really excited about this new boat.
  14. @swc5150 is this what you are looking for?
  15. Mastercraft brought a 2021 Prostar to the Western Regionals. I got a personal overview of the boat from Freddie Winters. He was so kind and took the time to answer every one of my questions. Marcus Brown was there the day after. Freddie and Marcus made a great team to demo the boat. When I drove it, it was sweet. It felt like a cross between how the the CC drives in the course along with the great maneuverability of the MasterCraft. The tracking was terrific. The boat was also very smooth and quiet. The display was so user friendly that it took no explanation at all. I loved how the drivers seat was positioned along with how comfortable it was. The right arm rest was perfect placement to not tweak my shoulder when driving. Hopefully the gas gauge issues have been fixed but if not, you can see the gas tank level under the step at the rear of the boat. As for the wakes, I heard many comments that it felt the same even though the boat was being demoed on a deep gravel pit lake. Overall, I was totally impressed. You can tell a lot of thought and engineering has gone into the changes and improvements.
  16. Just found this video from Action Water Sports: https://www.facebook.com/100000162666167/videos/3610931065588947 In the middle of the video it shows the video display. At 5:50 in the video there is also a partial view of the open bow seating which is different but looks great. It is hard to tell on the video but the boat does sound quieter. In 2018 we switched to MasterCraft after owning 15 Malibu's. I thought our 2018 Prostar was all but perfect. I was totally amazed with MasterCraft's engineering at that time. The 2021 appears to be steps above our 2018. I hope I can talk my boat partner into getting a 2021!
  17. Liquid Edge posted an additional video on Facebook showing the boat on the water. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/28904193162/videos/693157644594334
  18. Here is a view of back of interior. I like how it is not bare fiberglass where the rear seats go.
  19. Here is the back of the engine cover. It looks pretty good even with the SeaDek
  20. SunTen Ski Lakes, Rush Valley, UT
  21. I logged on this morning surprised to not see a post about Rhonda Burt who passed away on Saturday while hiking. Rhonda was a W5 skier who skied and lived at Imperial Lakes in Southern California. She was a level 8 skier along with being a senior judge and most important, an incredible person. Rhonda was in our ever so small group of women’s skiers who spouses are not heavily involved in water skiing. Rhonda always had a big smile on her face and would go out of her way to say hi to me at tournaments. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family and friends. The sport truly lost another great person.
  22. Very sad news in Utah. Here is a good news article and video that was on the local news tonight at 10. About 30 seconds into the video is Dave's voice talking to the tower in Ogden saying he would be landing shortly. https://abc4.com/news/local-news/small-plane-crash-reported-in-roy/ Dave was a genius and always thinking about how to do something better. My sincere condolences to Dawn, his family, friends and all the people who worked with him.
  23. Big shout out to Broadside Harbor and the Idaho skiers for stepping up and hosting the Western Regionals this year. As of a few weeks ago, there was not a site signed up to hold the Regionals. This will be their third regionals since 2010 along with Nationals in 2016. Full disclosure - they are my good friends but they did not ask me to post anything.
  24. Looks like the jump was photo shopped to hide the red so it would not stand out. Surprised they did not take the time to take it out completely.
