@Ral-good point. @Waternut-I do run the top buckle tight with the theory being that it will engage the strap more quickly and release the binding in a situation where the tip bites but maybe I have gone a little to far and should try it a little loser. I am super paranoid about jamming/breaking my ankle again.

@Ral-the dealer I bought the binding through set it up for me. Hopefully they did it right.

Another question is what are you running your binding setting at? I am at a 4 and I weigh 170.

Ok, that makes sense. How do I get use to it? Just think about not letting my legs come together?

I've been skiing the Reflex with the R-Style rear. In the last two weeks I have had the boot release from the ski in a turn at least three times and ended up whacking my shin on the ski every time. I am now skiing with a shin guard.... Is this normal for these bindings? And yes, I want the bindings to come off when the tip bites in the turn. I'm overcompensating from breaking my ankle last year.

I went from a closed bow to open. I bought the open bow(200) for resale. I have come to hate the open bow for the following reasons: too shallow for young kids to use, acts as a bucket when in rough water, and lose extra storage space. I love the MC solution with the hard top cover.

@londonskier‌ PS5s. I had the recommended amount of interlock. I stuffed the tip while turning which is the type of fall that the PS don't release. Resulted in a hyper flexed ankle with a severe sprain and a fracture in my Fibula.

So here is the full story with video. I am just getting back on my N1 after a year. I broke my ankle last July in a crushing OTF on my offside. Started skiing later that summer on my old X7 with Reflex bindings instead of the Goodes that I had on the N1 and continued to ski this spring on the X7. I have now mounted the Reflex bindings on the N1(gotta get back on the horse so-to-speak) and went out for the first time on the ski today. I have not changed the fin settings from the last time I skied(I was getting into mid-35). The only thing different from the last time I was on the ski are the bindings. They are set very close to where my old bindings where on the ski. So I am noticing that my offside turns very well but my onside I feel like the ski is stalling at the finish of the turn and my hips are getting behind me. It's not obvious in the video clip but I feel like if I am too far forward on the ski in the turn that it shuts down and I don't continue my momentum and struggle to get my hips to come around and be in a stacked position when I hookup for the pull. If my weight is further back on the ski in the turn the tip won't engage as well and I school bus the turn. So is this a binding/fin adjustment or a skier adjustment. What fin and/or boot adjustments do you make when you are breaking at the waist on your onside?

Thanks, I just drilled the plate. Not a big deal I just thought it was odd that with all of the holes in the plate it didn't match the inserts on the ski.

I am mounting my Reflex setup to the nano 1, white cuff front boot and R style rear boot. I discovered that the Reflex rear boot carbon plate, with the gazillion mounting holes in it, does not fit the rear hole pattern of the N1. Any suggestions on mounting it? After looking at the mounting plate the only way I see to mount it is to drill new holes in it. I don't want to use interloc for fear of the binding coming off and sinking to the bottom of the lake. What a PIA. What rear boot has the right pattern to fit on an N1?

I own a 12 200. Ski regularly behind a 196 and TXI. There is no wake at 28, same with the 196. The TXI doesn't have a big wake at 28 but it was more firm. The first time I skied the TXI I was surprised by its feel but adjusted quickly and now don't notice it. Can't go wrong with any of them.

We need to purchase quite a few buoys for the upcoming season. I know there has been a lot of discussion on turn buoys but I don't hear much on the boat guides. Other than Overton's are there other places to purchase boat guides? BTW Overton's wants $7 a ball.

I know there have been several threads about mounting snow ski bindings to water skis. Well it's been done and changed snow skiing forever. If you've ever skied reverse cambered skis you know what I'm talking about. Here is a great clip from one of the best big mountain skiers ever.
