  1. As a newbie I like the online. Question , if you use the paper method mail in entry, how does one know they are actually entered. If the tourney is full how do you know ?
  2. Don't put too much stock into hours. I would rather have a well maintened high hour boat than a low hour neglected boat. A lot of boat owners maintain their boat based on hours alone , so low hour boats do not see annual routine maintenence. Based on your search a 15 y/o boat with 700 hours would have been used on average 46 hrs a year. A well minted engine should go what , 2500 hours , so based on its use you have 39 years to go before TBO. I would look at the boats condition over all , not just hours alone. With that said , look at 97 Snob , sunsetter Lxi , sport nautique , mc 205.
  3. Air 108 , water 93 today. Never had to pass on second set due to water being too hot !
  4. just put an island on one end and no island on the other. that way everyone's happy! or maybe no one! LOL
  5. Keep your job, with your wife gone for 2.5 years, you will have more time to ski.
  6. Tournament " style " inboard waterski or wakeboard boats only. Boats must not exceed 21.5ft bow to stern. No wake enhancing devices allowed. or something like that
  7. Should really add Hot Dogging as an event
  8. good points @walleye, my wife hates going to the ski lake. She rather watch grass grow, which is what she mostly does out there! However she enjoys going to public lakes.
  9. @krlee. I didn't go to the PCO. Didn't know about till afterwards. Wish I did sounds like a great event.
  10. The reason @ms your tournaments are full is probably because you only have 2 weeks of summer!
  11. copied from another forum, really like how they handled it! "Regretfully for some, the annual PCO has been downgraded from a Class C 3-event tournament to a Class F tournament due to lack of entries. This is the oldest continuously running water ski tournament in the Western US. On the other hand, this is now sanctioned as a Class F (fun) tournament. We will be inviting guests to ski these events that may not have ever practiced on a course. Our entry fee will be discounted if you are not currently a USA Waterski member. A second attempt will be allowed for each slalom round. A USA Waterski "Grassroots" membership will be required, obtainable at the event."
  12. In the few tournaments I've skied there have been no m1 ,m2 few m3 and then it starts to increase in m4 and m5. Then there alot of kids. So skiers got older , no new blood came in and now their kids are starting to ski tournaments.
  13. Like I posted earlier I get it I enjoyed skiing tournaments Last year and I will ski probably a few more this year. I'm not the one who needs convincing . Hey buddy I see you're coming along nicely on that 15 off pass .You should come out to our next tournament. It's only $50 and you get to ski two sets. Oh by the way you have to sit out there all day and if you fall your turn is over . Which you surely will fall because the new boats have zero off and you have perfect pass .The boat Will not come back to pick you up so you have to walk up to half a mile back to the dock. It won't be much of a competition either because everyone else will be running 38 or shorter. But hey you'll be competing against yourself and meet lots of good skiers.
  14. I get it and that's why I choose to participate. But as @jipster43, I wish I started earlier as well. I chose not too and probably would have never entered a tournament if I hadn't joined a club that hosted them. My prior club did not. I think its just a hard sell to newbies. There is always a lot of talk about growing the sport. Keeping the the divisions by age will not help. If USA WS wants doesn't want the sport to grow , leave it as is.
  15. I a still new to the tournament thing, but how I see it under the current structure, there is no real incentive for beginners or intermediate skiers to participate. For example I am in M3 and at my skill level 15-28, have no real shot anything other than last . Don't get me wrong I am having fun and plan to participate anyway, but I feel not many other skiers at my level do. It seems to me divisions by age alone is silly. The grass roots is a good idea, but there a very few of them and it doesn't count towards anything. Why couldn't it be similar to BMX . There are 4 classes . Novice , Intermediate, Expert and Pro.
  16. Just got an email from Centurion that they are re releasing the CATS on their wakeboard boat. If you don't remember what that was , it's the articulating tracking fin . Wonder if the carbon pro will get it ?
  17. But while sitting the wheel turns and spins with the slightest one finger push. I've had steering cable go out before and it was always stiff. Not just under load.
  18. I'm such a dork. I removed the back seat and panel and began to pull the floor and engine box. Only to realize there is a zerk fitting in the engine compartment ! I shot some grease in but I won't be able to tell if it helps till I put in the lake and test with a load around the island. Steering is smooth while sitting.
  19. This Saturday I noticed that coming around the island the steering seemed a bit stiff. Yesterday it got a bit worse. Definately still manageable but stiff non the less. Steering seems smooth and easy while stopped. Seems fine going straight as well. Boat still tracks great. Only feel it when turning under load. Any thoughts ? I haven't torn into yet , is there a zirk fitting on the rudder shaft ?
  20. I'm wanting one myself for windy days and such. Who's got the best price on one ? Also what size would be best. I'm 5' 8 165. Ski on a 65" x7
  21. I did this once and just the pressure from the water once I jumped in hurt so bad I had to get back out. It was alfonsjout a week later. I think I waited 3 weeks before I could comfortably ski again. I actually started using a uscg app vest in fear of duplicating this injury again. I have since gone back to a slimmer vest. I guess the brain forgets the pain !
  22. I wish I knew where to pick one up. Haven't seem an issue on the shelves in years
  23. If she was my ski partner I would be running 38 by now. I would not miss a day !
  24. So should the wing stay off at 28 or go back on? I'm thinking I will leave it off until can run 32 consistently .
  25. They did night skis at my old club, probably not the best solution but its cheap and works. They used 2 liter plastic soda bottles with a light stick inside in placeof bouys. Cheap I guess.
