  1. You can read the hours with Diacom. You can also see hours split out by rpm band. It is amazing the high percentage of hours on ski boats spent at idle. (Well over half)
  2. The rope switch timeout is on the countercut, not the cut to the ramp.
  3. The course doesn't need to be mapped for the switch to work. I would test the switch with a multimeter to make sure it is working. Then make sure the clear white plug where it plugs into the boat is making contact. Those connectors get worn and stop making contact. You can use an ice pick to close up the female end of the contact a little bit.
  4. The plastic covers break at the mounts a lot, but the purpose is not safety around the belts. They were put on to prevent water ingestion into the front air intake.
  5. I would change the throttle box again, they have a high failure rate. (undersized diode burns out) Send the old ones back to Livorsi to have them repaired and keep them for spares.
  6. NCWSA should eliminate the one season out of competition for transfers and encourage the skiers to immediately transfer to other schools, even if an online remote course. Or... what does it take to charter an online university titled !%$#* Iowa state:)
  7. Put a small adjustable wrench on the bracket next to the hose and bend the bracket down.
  8. As the driver I always take the hit. Heck, it probably really is my fault anyway. Unfortunately I am also frequently on the receiving end of this as well especially after a knee replacement.
  9. I totally agree with the comments on the fantastic production by TWBC. To me this is by far the best entertainment available to watch. I really appreciate the hard work that the entire crew is doing to put this production on. For instance, they all had to start before the 7AM tournament start to get ready and worked until after 11PM last night when the Americas Cup ended. I certainly could not talk non-stop for 16 hours! I just threw a few dollars out to the go fund me link and I encourage all others who are enjoying the service to do the same. HERE is the link to save you from searching above:)
  10. @ski6jones The newer D3's have an extra set of front inserts now, not sure when they started adding them. The Ion I bought last year had them. When I ordered my new Denali a few weeks ago I asked if they could add the front inserts in the same place as D3 and they happily bult them in when they made the ski for me. I am very happy with my MOB double boot system as I feel it is the safest system made. It has never pre-released and has released a few times when needed, one of which I feel would have been a serios injury with any other system. Since I had a total knee replacement over the winter I am particularly cautious now. Since I started using my MOB system three years ago a couple friends who come to my lake to ski with me have also switched over and are also very happy with the system. One uses double boots and the other uses rtp. We are all using the Radar boots with them. I am the only one with last years boots, my friends have both purchased the new Radar's. If you don't have the front inserts in your ski and don't want to add some, double stick tape works fine, with the only downside being that it is a pain to make binding adjustments. I totally agree that you do not want to use MOB without the extra front inserts or double stick tape.
  11. Mine was rear knee 12/17/21. Skiing the course on jumpers late April, slalom ski late May. I have been pushing hard for flexibility but still nowhere near what it was. It is REALLY hard for me to get up without enough rear knee bend, as I have to get up with both legs fairly straight. Once I'm up, no issues. Minimal pain from replaced knee. I would be fully back up to my normal if I wasn't being so cautious. My main goal this year is no crashes.
  12. Well, I would have been happy to give you some pulls in St. Louis..... but my boat will already be at nationals.
  13. @skierjp Bring it up to Nationals and there would be twins!
  14. Certainly not exclusively, Nautique is covering all MO tournaments. Two last weekend, this was yesterday...
  15. The Denali is significantly easier for me to get up on, seems to be less effort running passes as well.
  16. Try a dock start, should be easy. Weight in the front of the boat should help as well as someone else already mentioned. Move your fuel tank(s) as far forward as the hose will allow. As far as the motor, it is plenty for skiing around on a pair of skis on a light boat like that. What prop do you have? Lower pitch will help the hole shot but lower top speed. You should have it set in the forward notch trimmed all the way in for better hole shots. On engine height, the cavitation plate should be even with the bottom of the boat. Does is run ok? If not the coils crack a lot on the older OMC's, spark should be able to jump a 1/2" air gap. (don't just pull a plug to see if it jumps to the electrode, that is only .030" and the stator plate is a little farther than that in most places from the coil so spark will take the path of least resistance and jump .030 first, but remember it takes a lot more to jump under compression. The '57 35hp had the old pressurized fuel tanks. Make sure the tank is building up pressure, easy to tell by taking the cap off and hearing the pressurized air come off. Another thing to check on that engine is carb adjustment. That engine has adjustable high and low speed jets. To adjust idle, loosen the packing nut enough so the jet can turn, turn it all the way in until it barely hits the seat (not too tight or you will mess up the tip). Then back off 2 turns. With the engine idling gradually screw in until the you start getting some coughs, then back out until it stops coughing. For the high speed jet (the one on the bottom), repeat the process and start with it two turns out. With someone else driving the boat wide open in gear gradually screw in until speed starts to fall off, then back out slightly until you are at the fastest it will go. Tighten both packing nuts and you are good to go. Also there is a rubber roller that follows a cam on the stator plate which synchronizes the carb and spark. the throttle butterfly should just start to move when the roller passes the mark on the cam. To adjust loosen the two screws on the bottom of the cam.
  17. You read fuel pressure with Diacom. The direct injection engines run VERY high fuel pressure. You would certainly not want to hook up a conventional fuel pressure gauge to a valve on a fuel rail if it were available, it would explode. Fuel pressure can get as high as 3,000 PSI. That is scuba tank pressure! With those engines injector pulse duration stays constant with the fuel curve controlled by the varying fuel pressure. At idle around 500 - 800 PSI and at higher RPM's it goes way up from there. Are you sure it is a 2016? I thought the direct injected 6.2 availability from PCM started in 2017.
  18. For Denali the ski is the same but there are RFF and LFF specific fins.
  19. @lpskier The zip ties center the bucket on different size balls (turn balls vs boat guides)
  20. This is not my design but it works great, credit to Dean Chappell for the design!
  21. Sme here Red Pocket, I have never gone over on the basic data plan in over two years. Base is on my dock wifi.
  22. I initially assumed it was a phishing attempt since the email address is different (and an outside organization) from the purported sender. I sent an email to AWSA letting them know there was a phishing attempt and received a response that they had made arrangements with this outside company. I wonder how much of our personal information was given to this fund raising company to "verify" when we call? I am not a fan of this.
  23. @m_deel Thanks for building a great ski for me! Three very short sets on it now and it just plain works, no drama. (and the carbon print top looks great too:) Skiing very cautious on a total knee replacement less than six months old and skiing very close to pre-surgery levels today. Total trust in a brand new ski is great for building confidence when I really don't want to crash!
