  1. Wow! Congrats @skinut !!! That is huge. I think your biggest issue will be keeping the riffraff from Montana out. How long did it take from purchase of the land to the first scoop of dirt?
  2. Super fortunate to have spent many hours in judges towers with the man listening to stories about nearly everything you could imagine. He was definitely someone who inspired awe. He was awesome!
  3. You remember the day your buddy brought home a Skurfer.
  4. I have been searching the web-0-sphere for driver clinics and haven’t had much luck. If anyone here has information regarding dates and locations throughout the country, it seems like this would be a great place to create an easy and useful resource for folks actually interested in growing or maintaining tournament skiing. I know it’s quite possible that my failed search is due to user ineptitude but just the same I’d like to see what’s out there listed on this site. Gracias!
  5. I don’t hold a particularly strong opinion either way. Our lake is 2300’ long and has no islands but every other lake I ski on has them. I like clockwise turns and I like counterclockwise turns. I actually prefer the counterclockwise turns. If I was to build a lake, it would have doglegs and no turn islands. My ideal lake would be ski view estates - minus the islands.
  6. Biodiesel and huff french fries while you ski!
  7. “ My goal is to stay close to the handle curled up in a ball so that load I have generated is transferred into the rope and not wasted by bleeding speed at the end of a fast edge change when the ski slams onto the inside edge. I want to swing the handle high up on the boat. My release comes late. It feels like I sacrifice width and allow myself to be pulled narrow still staying close to the handle because I know there is no point reaching if the handle has not swung high enough.”@AdamCord @adamhcaldwell This sounds pretty close to the philosophy behind GUT, but I’m a dyslexic with ADHD, so I could be way off!
  8. Lakeside was posting memberships on ski-it-again not too long ago and have a phenomenal promo video, so I’m assuming their desire for anonymity is not a huge concern. Congrats Horton!
  9. I’m belatedly watching the Kaiafas Battle and was wondering the same thing, so I came here to find out. The women’s comp was still entertaining but it would have been nice to see Manon there. This European tour is spectacular!
  10. I had custom footbeds in my radar strada years ago but they disappeared after a fairly spectacular yardsale. I walked the shoreline dozens of times looking for them but they never emerged.
  11. Is this what’s happening with Rossi’s & Regina’s ski when their ski comes up at the end of their turn?
  12. Global cooling was never the scientific consensus. FYI.
  13. Kelly Slater won the world surf championship 11 times and the Billabong Pipe Masters 8 times. His most recent win was this year - 30 years after his first win and a week before his 50th birthday. Has anyone else remained at the top of an extreme sport for 30 years?
