  1. I have used carbon fiber plates ranging from .070 to .150 thick and haven't had amy problems with screws poping thru or cracking the plates. I also have counter sank the screws that hold the binding into the plates as well. I have always screwed my plate to the ski rather than using dual lock (no reason why). Wileys back binding, reflex front binding.
  2. I tore my other achiles tendon on monday, 3 years and 3 days to the date of the previous (same injury occured on my other leg) injury. Same fall toe side turn at 35off. Both binding released, but not quick enough. Each injury occured in totally different binding systems. Goes to show you never know what binding system is safer! Good thing I have 7 months till next season and the same doctor putting me back together...
  3. Thanks for the help Scot. Trully appreciate it! MBSkier
  4. I am in the Phoenix AZ area looking for a ski ride. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have all of my equipment.  Thanks, MBSkier phone # 206.390.7491
  5. Ron  The course is in at CB. Skied this yesterday. Water is super hi, but very fun. Come check us out at the trailer park lot 350. Would like to ski with you.  MBskier
  6. We have had a great course in the water for over 30 years accross the river behind an island. Not in the back waters of CB where the tournaments were held. It is located on the west side of the river (easy to find). However this year a rouge washington fish and wildlife agent deceided to take it out. Currently we are working with that agency for a long term solution, but as we all know the wheels of government turn very slow... We have put another course in, but are taking the balls off when we leave each day. I'm hoping that we will be able to leave it in the water with no problems soon. There will be a course for you to ski on when you come to CB in July. Plus the water will be warm by then. It sure is fun to hear the stories from the tournaments at CB from back in the day. I remember having over 100 competitors show up and most of them were 3 event skiers. Or sitting for hours on the jump bucketing water onto the surface.  MBSkier
  7. H2odawg79 No the course isn't by Astoria, it is north of 1-90 by the town of Quincy WA. We are putting it back together and you are more than welcome to come up and ski with us any time!  MBskier
  8. I am sad to say one of the Northwest finest public courses has became a victom of vandalism. Last week someone cut and took the floating main line  and balls, leaving only the anchors on each end of the course. Lucky we were able to find those anchors and tie a buoy to them.  This course has been in the same location on the Columbia River for almost 30 years. It has endured many years of use, enjoyment and thousands of skiers. We will be able to rebuild the course, but don't have any protection from someone cutting it again...  MBskier
  9. Thanks Eddie for the correction!  MBskier
  10. Jam Man Yes we are. I need to get with Sully/Trent and find out when they are going to be available. Would like to do the same format as last year. That seemed to work out very well. When I get some info I will let you know what is happening. Trent is an amazing coach. Everyone that has skied with him at CB has realy enjoyed it. Lot's of skiing and great coaching, couldn't be better! 11. I skied the Strada55 (67in) a week ago at Radar lake. 34 mph skier, 175lbs. It was a super fun ski. The ski didn't feel too big. Very stable and smooth in the turns. It felt like you skied a very "high" line thru the course (always early). The wake crossings were no problems at all for a ski that is 2 inches wider. Hortons description was very accurate. I would have to agree with him on the performance of the ski. Another noticable difference is the tail is round rather than square. I skied perfect pass ran 22, 28, mised a 32, then ran a 32 pass. For April that is the best skiing of my life. On the shorter line, I got late in the middle of the course and was able to make up ground no problem. The boys at Radar are on target with the product they are producing. Great job with this ski.  MBskier
  12. Correction. The heal of front foot was set at 29 1/8 rather than what I posted earlier. MBskier
  13. Ripped Radar on Friday with Eddie in beautiful sunny Seattle weather. I think it may have been in the lower 70's. Skied a 67 in Strada. Eddie set it up and it was perfect. Off the dock 22-28-32. I haven't skied that good in April ever. The ski is simply amazing. The ski holds it's angle off the second wake like no other. It finishes the trun very smooth with no bouncing. If you are in the market to purchase a new ski look no further, the Strada is it. The ski was set at 6.845, .75, 2.505. I use a custom carbon plate that has a limited hole pattern because it was designed for my RS-1.  The heal of my front foot was 28.1/8 (seems quite far back compared to where other people are skiing). Not sure if I will stay there, but at this time I am going to leave it until I make another carbon plate where I can try other positions.    Sunday I was able to ski at my home course and backed up my score from Friday. Friday wasn't a fluke.  Much thanks to the guys at Radar for designing a great product. I am excited for this year!!! 14. richard I might. Trying to figure out my tournament schedule for the summer. There are only 2 tournament this year in E.Wa. Need to ski in a couple of more tournaments to get my scores for regionals. I will let you know by the end of the month MBskier
  15. Marco your dorsiflection will improve with time. One thing that help my flexability is a wobble board. I used 2 snow ski poles to help my ballance while standing on one foot at a time. I started with 3 sets of 30 seconds. Now I am up to 3 sets of 1.5 minutes and only using 1 snow ski pole.  Cliveous Yes. I did lots of single leg calf raises with high reps and low weight this winter. That has seemed to help out quite a bit. The other thing I did was change my shoes more often than usual.  That helped with the correct foot allignment for walking... Bit technicle but important!  Looking forward to this ski season! 16. Joe  Looks like a fun event. I know your lake is fun to ski on. Trent is an amazing coach and Eddie knows how to set up a ski. I was looking at plane tickets the other day when I heard about it. SWA is a little over $200. Not bad for a weekend in 80 degree weather. Say hi to Todd for me MB Skier
  17. Ski buddy I had a complete tear of the achilles after regionals in 08. Back foot. Had surgery the whole 9 yards. I was out of my cast and putting weight on it in 5 weeks. The doctor said he never saw anything like it before. I was skiing the following spring (April). I skied all year at a level 8, nothing super aggressive, just alot of consistant 28 and 32 passes. 34 mph skier My theropy was as follows. I started walking with the best possible stride I could. Heal, toe, heal, toe. Concentrated on equal stride leingth. I rode my road bike 50 miles a week. I didn't go to the gym because with the walking, biking, skiing I didn't want to over do it. This fall I started working out in the gym. It has been amazing. I am now 18 months post surgery and feeling stronger than ever. My calf muscle is starting to show some deffinition and greatly improved streingth. I also used a Wei patch. It is some herbal patch. I think it worked. I had a removable cast so after the surger I applied the patch. Used it for 10 days. I highly recoment it... Here is the link if you are interested. http://www.weilab.com/ Good luck
  18. Are you looking for a new on or used one?
  19. Shortenit That is the same price I paid to have a full set of seals replaced on a dry suit of mine in the past. I think you are being quoted a fair price. The quality of work O'Neill did was very good and I think you will be quite satisfied. A friend of my had the same problem, but he deceided to buy a used dry suit for the same price ($150 including shipping) off the internet and it didn't turn out quite so well. good luck!
  20. No Richard, I just fueled up. I only run out of gas on the way to the boat launch. My 1/4 mile commute burns alot of gas during the summer...  Oh, If you need some more of those AWSA vintage slalom balls I have a bunch of reds and yellows. You could put Herb's corse back to the way it was during the 74 regionals next summer. Might be able to find the tow boat as well. What is your winter ski schedule look like. A bit cold over here, but would like to get some weekley skiing in.
  21. End of summer. 1978 Ford with a 2001 MC Pro Star
  22. It is funny to hear stories of the "old days" at Crescent Bar. I was a kid and went to all the tournaments there. I was too young to participate in the after hours party, but remember the larg turn outs and all the good skiing. There is still alot of good skiing at CB, but no tournaments, maybe some day soon.
  23. What I have is a new 9 left that I will sell for $100. I also have a used pair. One of them is a first run and is grey, the other is a black one like what you have seen. I can sell these for $150. I have a standard plate that I will send you as well. If you are interested I will sell you a carbon fiber plate that I manufactured. It was water jet cut to the exact specs of a factory plate. I think it improves the skis performance. If you are interested in the plate I will sell one for $100  Matt Phone # 206.390.7491
  24. I have a 9 left that hasn't been used, I will sell you for $100. I wear a 9.5 nike shoe and the binding fits me no problem.
