  1. I've broken a couple Connelly Carbon V's and one V due to handle damage (pops). Every spring I go through a spell of a couple weeks where I have problems (back issues) on my ups which results in the ski getting hit by the handle. Usually takes two years and then the top starts separating from the bottom of the ski at the tip. I've tried repairing the damage with JB Weld, but the repair is a temporary fix. It seems once the top starts to separate, it's only a matter of time before the separation continues down the ski. I really like the Carbon V, but is there a ski that will hold up better?
  2. Similar issue. I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. Pre-dose with an inhaler and longer breaks between sets.

  4. Easy to drive, full frame, insurance is cheap, easy to fix, the 4cyl + stick is slow and the back seat is very small. And my son would ask all his female friends with they wanted to go ride around topless with him.
  5. Purchased a new to use Zero Off boat. No injuries keeping me off the water. Skied more than in recent years. Skied more consistently than anytime in the past. Continued a long running streak of teaching someone to ski (several actually). Yep, it was a great ski season.
  6. Nikon D7000 and D7100 (DX crop bodies) Our go to lens is a Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 for nice tight shots of the skier from the boat. Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 or Tamron 17-50 f2.8 if we want wider shots, but at the 70mm range we can get nice shot of the skier and a good bit of background. Attached photo was taken on the D7100 at 200mm.
  7. Can anyone recommend a ski school in the Coco Beach /Melbourne area that will be open the first week in January?
  8. Depends on how nice the pictures you want to take, how much you want to spend and how much about photography you want to learn. But know in low light and fast action, with cameras and lens you get what you pay for. To stop the action in low light you will need a camera capable of high ISOs and fast glass (A lens capable of at least F2.8). For sports I shoot a Nikon D90 with a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lens. You can find very nice used DSLRs in your price range. As Horton said, hang out on the photograph sites as there is a lot to learn.
