  1. It sounds to me like most of you guys are turning in to late. I use the distance between the nose of the boat to the entrance gates on every pass. At 32 I’m about 1/2 a boat length before the nose gets to the gates. At 35 3/4 at 38 1 boat length 39 1.5 boat lengths. And 41 2 boat lengths. And you need to be as wide as possible matching the boat speed at glide.
  2. We have also had good results with a longer fin as well up to 6.860
  3. Try 29.38 front boot 17.25 rear boot. Fin 6.818 2.475 .740 wing 9.5
  4. Remove the Aluminum T nuts that hold the boot down and file the top surface or round part where the screw goes in so it is not so high. Next file both sides of the shoulder down where the clip sits into the carbon plate so it is not to thick. This will make it so the screw will not bottom out on the clip when you tighten it.
  5. Thanks Chad!! I like your last sentence. Anyone can get copies of their test from George Levien.

  7. After reviewing everyone comments relating to the controversial call at the Big Dawg I want to make one last comment. This statement was posted earlier by 2788 "We should not be debating what Rodgers Dave Goode Dave miller or Mapple did and be trying to justify or condemn there actions" None of these guys started it was all the Big Dawgs that spoke up. The whole point that most people seem to over look is the fact that the judge should have denied the call based on the fact that everyone of the skiers that have skied in the night finals in the past or that night could have legitimately asked for a re-ride due to lights and distractions. Point being I don't condemn Jeff for asking it just should have been denied based on simple common sense. If I happened to be the chief Judge and was asked for a reride due to lights and distractions I would have to say no. If I would approve a re-ride I know a war would break out with all the other skiers because almost all of them could justify the same call for a re-ride. This is the whole reason everyone got so upset!!!! Oh by the way Marcus great post and nothing against you but I definitely got 2.25 bouys in the prelims! lol

  9. Here is an un written rule for you all! "Do unto others as you would want done to yourself". As I have said before the judge made the wrong call. Jeff never should have asked for a re-ride and I doubt it will ever happen again. I agree not a good idea to reverse the call after it was approved the point here is to make sure it never happens again. I have fallen or lost my balance in the finals before due to lighting or flashes. It definitely effects your skiing and balance. I feel the effects on every pass. I have lost due to flashes of light etc. I would never want to beat one of my fellow Big Dawgs by asking for a re-ride due to lights cause they would all laugh at me!!!!And say are you kidding me!!!. It would put sour taste in all of their mouths because as I said we all have similar conditions and much distraction. Could you imagine what would happen if we approved a rule like this. It would be a complete disaster and ruin the event for everyone. Rule (No re-rides due to lights or flashes of any kind)
  10. Webbdawg I see you still don't get it. As I said yes we all want to win but never in all history of night finals has a reride been requested for lights or anything else. Again nothing against Jeff but he never should have asked! Big Dawgs know lights and flashes are part of the event. You just don't ask. Unfortunately the judge made the wrong call and never should have allowed the reride. That's why every one was so upset. If they allowed the reride then everyone is entitled to a reride cause there are lights or flashes on each pairing. And every time a bit different!! This is not difficult to figure out!! No rerides.
  11. If we start asking for re-rides the event is ruined! Cause everyone will have a good excuse for a re-ride....have you ever skied at night? I could ask for a re-ride every pass with all the stuff goin on!
  12. Its the Big Dawg and it a show for the spectators it aint about us. Yes we want to win and ski good but what you get is what you get!!!
  13. We need a rule for those that don't know. if you want to ski in a Big Dawg under the lights expect camera flash's, Vehicle lights etc. No re-rides period they just ruin the event. I'm all for moving on but lets not ruin the event by allowing re-rides that cause delays and up set competitors. I love all the Cameras and lights its awesome its what makes the Big Dawg. I sure don't want to see it change!!!
  14. As I said in a previous thread the reason all the Big Dawgs went wild is because none of them would consider asking for a re-ride due to lights. Its just not something that would cross our minds. It is not that Jeff is a bad guy he just hasn't been a part of the Big Dawg group long enough to know. He did what he would do in a Pro event. I am not upset or mad at anyone I just want to make sure this never happens again. We cant start asking for rerides due to lights or flashes ever! And you cant tell the crowd not to take flash pictures!!! Come on that is crazy I think it is so cool with all the flashes going. It makes the event awesome. As skiers we need to focus on the course and our skiing not whats going on around us!! Thats the Big Dawg!!!!!

  16. Guys everyone is missing the point the bottom line this is not a Pro Event and all the Big Dawgs know we dont ask for rerides due to lights. Point is lights are everywhere out there. Its not about Jeff being a bad dude he just did what he would do in any pro event. The reason all the Big Dawgs went wild over this is because we all know the show goes on no matter what! I guess you could call it a un written rule we would not ask for a reride due to lights because it would cause a lot of tension between us as friends and competitors not to mention delays in the event. Jeff is an awesome guy and I am sure he would not do the same thing again in the future!

  18. I am very disappointed in the events that took place at the Nautique Big Dawg Finals in Texas and I want to express my feelings publicly. At the skier meeting we were informed that once we had won our pairing in the head to head we could not continue to ski. In other words if my competitor missed 38 off I was not allowed to shorten and continue to ski. I was told the reasoning for this rule is the web cast takes too long and people won’t watch it if we drag it on. I totally disagree and I believe all our spectators online and on the shore want to see us ski 39s and 41s. Some skiers choose not to ski on and that is fine but I have always felt that whether I am tired or not it is my obligation to give the crowd my best even if it affects my next round. The second event that really delayed the tournament was a re-ride that was given to Jeff Rogers after I ran 39 in the night finals under the lights to win the pairing and he missed it. Jeff asked for a re-ride due to vehicle head lights at the end of the course. As a Big Dawg competitor for many years we are all aware headlights and camera flashes are part of the event and never before has anyone asked for a re-ride. In fact the headlights and flashes are much more intense at a venue like Okeeheelee where night finals have been hosted in prior Big Dawgs. The fact is the re-ride delayed the event over an hour and most skiers and spectators were appalled with the decision to approve the re-ride. Due to the approved re-ride I missed the opportunity to go head to head against Andy Mapple for the 1st or 2nd place in this year’s finals. I do not have or hold any grudges against Jeff or anyone else I just sure hope we can learn from these mistakes and not repeat them in the future. To wrap up, I have participated in the Big Dawg series from the day Greg Davis and David Miller (Ohio) started the event and I love it. The Big Dawgs are group of amateur skiers that are quite close, we encourage, support and help each other to ski our best. It is not UN common for Big Dawgs to support their competitors with coaching, ski set up or in the event of equipment failure. This is what it’s all about it’s not a pro event and it was never intended to be!!!!!! Dave Miller
  19. I have had great success putting little guys on the 62 Nano Xt with XSmall Powershells.
  20. I have skied on the 66.75 and the 66 all winter and I am 160 lbs. they all work great it comes down to preference. The 66 is definitely less work than the 65.25
