  1. Still skiing in London. Water term is 13deg (55), air a little more. three quarter suit is perfect, no hat needed yet. But the water is FAST, so don't pull long. Will ski through the winter.
  2. There is nothing in the world to beat running my hardest pass. I yell, fist pump and grin like a chimpanzee! That feeling when you drop in knowing you've done it. Just for that moment nothing else in the world matters. Best feeling ever.
  3. @OB1 I tried my first set last night on R style, having been in Powershells since 2011. It felt strange but I ran a few passes at the end of the set. The thing I noticed was that my rear knee is locked in behind my front. I think thats a good thing? I've only done it because I'm scared about injury in thePS's. But do I persevere with the R style & supershell? or go back to my comfy PS's? I know you can get hurt in anything, but another friend just got done by the PS non release. Looks like @horton is on a reflex now as in the Arc review.
  4. @RPT Supershells more flexible than Powershells, Really? I dont think so. I have both and if I go back to Reflex, I'll get a white cuff because Supershell is too stiff
  5. I agree with BRY. You can get sticky back sandpaper from a skateboard shop online. Also, I put an extra bolt in the rear boot heel into that small plate, and an extra one under the little toe. The heel lifts but the boot never moves out of position! That said, Powershells are like crack! Not good for you, and once you get used to them, being super comfy, its hard to give em up. I tried the Reflex + R style. Front was ok, but didn't like the rear, but I might have another go after Freddie broke his ankle today.
  6. My son is an engineer. He told me the heel cup is made by a 3D printer. So if it cracks, just print yourself another!!
  7. Four bouy course -its nonsense! I'm watching it live on Webcast TV, the sport I love and one of the most prestigious events reduced to four bouys!! I don't get it. What next US Golf open over 9 holes? The Superbowl on a half size field? I'm not enjoying it and I don't understand why its been done. Make it two bouys next year and I might qualify. Its Saturday night in London, I'm gonna watch Strictly come dancing on TV instead.
  8. What Lovell said. Or, just look at the boat lane bouys ahead of the nose of the boat as you exit the turn. When I do it, its magic!
  9. Wow - All I can say is... This is the best ski I've ever had! Nothing like the previous Vapors. Its quick and you don't need to turn. Just let it do it's own thing and it will keep getting angle. Plus, I always used to get air at 16m (22off) off the first ramp. Not any more, just slices through the wakes and stays down. No tip rise anywhere with Rini settings. Thanks Radar. MOASS. @Stevie Boy get your wallet out son (and tell me your real name).
  10. Thanks @Stevie Boy I don't know who you are. You have the advantage Sir!
  11. It's Here!!! Arrived today in London. Can't wait till Friday.
  12. I learnt to ski behind a Riva in the 70's in the South of France. Don't see many of them these days. That brings back happy memories. The colour of that wood eh?
  13. I've ordered my Supershell, hoping for arrival this week. I too have come off Powershells this week and gone to a regular Reflex with a soft rear (KD) boot, [rear lace, I leave loose]. I can now flex my back ankle. Its like a different stlye of skiing. With double hards, you ski with your legs as one unit, but with now I feel I ski more with my feet. I'm liking the regular Reflex, lets see what the SS feels like. Last week I had an OTF which did not release in the PS's but should have. Crushed my front foot a bit but luckily not too much.
