  1. @epnault that's me on the left, and looking for a partner to 'split' the boat with, similar to the Molson 'pleasure pack' two four eh. 12 Canadian and 12 Export, same vintage as the boat...
  2. Thinking of a temporary solution to add the small bump/knob on end of the handle similar to a baseball bat. Maybe use a tape similar to the end knob used on a hockey stick. Totally customizable to the users preference.
  3. @Slalom.Steve as other's have mentioned, there are a lot of skiers that haven't heard of BOS. I don't think anyone in our club is aware of it... I would guess most fall into the category that @Drago mentioned: i don't want to look at my phone or computer when the sun is shining... me included. being in Canada, I'm a big hockey fan, but unfortunately the playoffs, where it basically gets interesting, are too late into the spring / summer when the suns shines and the days are longer, so no tv, computer or phone...
  4. @EFW, you're correct about being produced in Peterborough. my neighbor and friend had one in the late 70's. they look cool, but I'm sure it's basically rotted. There is one local to me, and I'm trying to convince a friend to split it with me. Our project is to scrap the engine etc, then cut in half to make 2 distinct bars, one with transom and platform, the other with front deck and windshield. That said, anyone with cool re-purpose boat to bar projects or photos, please post ideas. Anyone local to central Ontario, that thinks this is a cool, and fun project, please reach out.
  5. @Drago I know all about the SL and GS skis as both kids ate through a minimum of 2 pairs of each and in their later years 4 pairs of each ski every year. My garage had more skis than local sporting goods store. They never got into downhill but a fair bit of super g and yes everyone wanted older skis as they’re full of wax and run faster. Boots would get worn out at 2 pairs per year and in their mid-teens they would change through the season for a stiffer flex in the same size. My wife was never keen on new boots for the kids that were the same size. Fortunately after buying 8-12 pairs of skis for kids annually she’s been desensitized to new sports equipment and the odd slalom ski I order every other year doesn’t get noticed.
  6. @DW do you recall the rumour at the 2018 olympics that Ester Ledecka won the super-g gold on borrowed skis. Something along the lines that she only had a few pairs of skis and they got misplaced. I recall it may have been Mikaela that lent the skis. The other amazing feat was a gold in snowboarding at same games. Pretty amazing to win gold at 2 different disciplines at the same games.
  7. @Horton I would suggest alpine skis are. Certainly not science based, but I'll never forget my daughter being absolutely amazed seeing Regina arrive at the malibu open in Milwaukee with only 1 slalom ski. She was a U16 division 1 alpine ski racer at the time and she was used to seeing the pros, (world cup) alpine racers show up with 10-20 plus pairs of skis, and if it's a multi discipline event they bring 30 plus sets of skis. to be fair, they have 3 or 4 types of ski (like slalom, trick and jump), and the skis will be waxed for different temps and selected the day of the race. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/21/sports/olympics/mikaela-shiffrin-skis.html#:~:text=PYEONGCHANG%2C South Korea — Mikaela Shiffrin, with 70 pairs of skis.
  8. Yep, 3 event goes down to 8mph. We use it for surfing on a regular basis.
  9. @Killer what lake? I’ve also chatted with Paul that used to run the lake in Newmarket (now Spray Lake) and he was involved in testing a similar or possibly the same system
  10. @dave2ball, thanks and I agree. I'm in Ontario Canada, and can't find a 2017 or newer txi to try. Will likely find one to try this winter on vacation south. To be honest, the current design is getting a bit old and am hoping for a refresh in 2024 but understand there isn't one scheduled.
  11. @jhughes did the tracking improve on your club's 2023? thanks
  12. thanks everyone., really appreciate you comments. I did chat with the owner and he seemed to be a great guy, and He too mentioned both he and his ski partner with the 200 felt this tracked better, which is really encouraging. very tempting.... will re-introduce the topic with my wife, but this time wait until she's had a few glasses of wine and make sure not mention the fact that one daughter starts university next week, and the other next year...
  13. Thanks. The one in particular does have the 6.2.
  14. anyone ski behind the 2021 malibu promo in Montana? I've followed the txi threads, and it seems with all boats/brands, some are great, some aren't . Looking at the 2021 promo being offered in Montana, and looking for some first hand experience. much appreciated. thanks.
