  1. For what's its worth I'll throw my 2 cents in, I have both systems and am one of those guys that loves to tweak with stuff.. Originally bought RS-1s skied them liked them! Then bought Reflex front 404 with carbon plate added Wiley rear boot skied it for a while never could get it that dialed in for me too much rear heel lift. Went back to RS-1s then upgraded to Strada boots loved them felt like old pair of sneakers and trusted them that I would come out both feet in a fall! Decided to give Reflex another go with rear Strada was able to get boots close enough but Reflex release was snug against back Strada, skied fine just didn't trust that I would release very well so went and made a R style rear Reflex half shell boot which also has bungee added and 2 bottom buckles with my front Reflex system, I kicked my rear R style boot up about the thickness of 10 pieces of duck tape for a little heel lift. Ive skied this setup a handful of times and liked it, but back on my Stradas right now. At first I was running my buckles pretty snug on my Reflex which later have found that I only really need to snug up my center buckle with the most tension I leave the top cuff buckle just as it starts to add pressure same goes for the bottom buckle.. Currently I'm back on my Stradas just feel really good can't tweak them much but like they say "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I guess..
  2. They still look like they are the same general design but with much better looks than original RS-1's (IMO).. They have added a slick velcro flap that covers the lower laces.. Liners look closer to 1st generation RS-1 gold liners as far as thickness.. I haven't had time to try them yet but sure I will be happy as all the Radar stuff is top shelf!!!
  3. mkerzie I also own a 2008 LXI minus the tower and power wedge, but do have the manual wedge.. Most times I ski I have the boat really striped down wedge off, back seat out and all the bow cushions out.. wake is really nice but as stated above from another post when we only have one person in the boat you can feel a difference but nothing to throw you off or freak you out, but we also ski with everything in the boat at times and never have a big bump problem! I have a buddy that had the same year LXI with tower, pwr wedge and and all the seats and that boat had a much bigger wake then mine, the tower and pwr wedge ad alot more weight in my opinion but still not enough that would get sketchy.. I would look to see if you are getting some water leaks from your skags or anywhere else. Just my 2 cents worth!
  4. Nice congrats, hope to be running 35 this summer!! Looks like Canyon Lake in So Cal.
  5. Kyle I have a few ideas for you as well!! you can call or email me check your inbox when you sign in! Andy G
  6. 2010 and 2011 Strada's 66" RS1 and Strada boots on single radar plates! Storm gloves are the best I've tried would be cool if they added a little Kevlar to them!! I had a RS1 66" and a Annex but don't compare to the Strada's. The Strada is a killer package ski/boots they work! With Rossi, Rini, Herb, Eddie, Sully and the French connection @ Swiss NO WONDER!
  7. Just graphic change, however this for me is the easiest off the dock user friendly ski feels like a old pair of sneakers!! I had a lot of fun last summer on this ski then got the fin out of sink not knowing it, after some new settings it felt just loke I remembered! I have the 1st generation and 2nd love both of them 1st generation is a little stiffer 2nd softer, I'm only a 34mph guy PB last year sloppy 5@35.. This will be my fourth season skiing the course hoping to round all 6 bouys at 35off this year!!
  8. Are all the meals and activities included in the price or do you pay separate for each excursion? Trying to get my wife to take a girls trip so I can go on a Waterski trip!! She's a non skier and we have a 9mo old son so would it would be pretty expensive and tough on them to go at this stage... Any pics of the site and house would be nice to see!
  9. From my personal experience my first year RS1 boots I went with 1 size larger than my shoe size which was a 10.. The liners are defiantly thicker on the RS1 (gold liners) than the Stradas (grey liners) I also used a thicker foot bed to help get added heel lift on both boots.. You will be fine with the size 8 RS1's! I'm currently running Stradas in a size 10 but could have probably gone with a 9 as they seem to be more true to size! Hope this helps you out. Also RS1's don't come with plates or the single plates but Stradas come with the individual plates but I would recommend the single mounting plate as this helps with adjustments and ski flex.
  10. I was just in Houston this past weekend for a race and skied at this site with some great folks, the Gilberts.. Clay was nice enough to show me through his custom house located on the first lake awesome house, awesome site! When your in his house every room had a view of the lake, Clay and his wife defianlty put all the finest finish's on this house!
  11. Can't remember for sure but I think for my 08 I would have had to buy a new ECM and with the price of the ZO It was way out of the budget that's why I went with the SG.. Thinking back on it should waited 1 year and bought a 09 with a ZO and proabably still would have gotten a killer deal on the boat!!!!
  12. Richard you should install the quick drain kit in that boat!! I love mine takes 2 minutes and saves me $$$ every year from having to take it to the dealer.. What's Menzel lake and where is it in WA? Decided to pass on skiing this week since the lake started to freeze, maybe this weekend!
  13. Zippy Can you believe this weather here in the NW? Hope the ice thaws on the road so I can ski Wed up at Radar!!
  14. I did ski with Dan but only one set the wind kicked up water temp was 66. Wishing I was in 80+ though!!
  15. I know of a few people including myself that have molded them just fine with the hot water shower on your boat!! Toward the the end of summer I put mine in the oven while they where a little damp still and they shrunk just a bit but that was the good as I was between sizes! Sure fo love them for ghos winter skiing hope to get out over the weekend water temp in the high 40's.. Looking for some warm weather skiing places any ideas in the us?
  16. Thager what sort of time are you playing with Friday - Saturday? I live really close to the airport and would love to return the favor to a BOS'er if RD, OF or Wally aren't available. Depending on the weather (calling for snow this weekend) we could hit up RadaR or Lake Samamish! I've got a couple extra sets of gear if your up for a ski ride as well! Agustafson@live.com Andy G
  17. 04196, Sounds awesome I wish I was there with you guys!! I like lpskier and Brents advice but don't think it would work out with my wife! She used all her vacation up with the little guy, but I have been prepping her with how cheap I've found RT tickets for $383.00 or I could burn up some air miles I travel a ton for work usually around 34 weekends out of the year so if it's not a work trip I would feel pretty guilty leaving them. We live in WA State so drysuits are a must right now, I'm actually in CA this week and brought my gear to ski up at Canyon Lake with some great people!! Thanks for the storys guys looking fwd to seeing some pics and maybe video!
  18. Just wondering if any of you are planning on going on a waterski vacation? I would love to go to Costa Rica or Ski Paradise but with a four month old newborn might be kinda hard to tell my wife I'm leaving unless I found a killer deal that I can't pass up... So I figured I would live through the folks that are going with your story and pics!!/vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif
  19. Thank you to Eddie and the rest of the RADAR gang! I'd been struggling the last month with my skiing but Eddie hooked me up with some love on dialing in my fin settings and I'm getting back in the groove!! Skied today at RADAR water was 50 air was 55.. Ran a few 36mph passes 22's and a couple 28's those where fun!! Then second set went back to 34mph!! Today was some fun skiing!
  20. Thanks for the info guys! I'll be sticking around the Corona and Menifee area this week.. I work in the motorcycle industry and most of our test tracks are all within this area at this point most of my mornings are open up until 10:30am.. What kinda of water temp is going on in this part of CA? Radar lake was 60 yesterday been in my drysuit for the last few weeks..... I'll see about sending out a email to you Steven thank you again for the info.
  21. I travel to Southern CA for work a bit and was wanting to know if there is a place near San Diego to Corona or close area that offers ski sets? I was on google earth tonight and saw what might be a ski site in Corona Ca off of Laurel Canyon Rd. Is this a ski site? Do they offer paid sets? Any ideas as to places to ski in that area would be great? I do a fair amount of travel for work and try and bring my ski with me as much as possible!!!
  22. Anyone ever heard of Twin Lakes Estates in OK? If so any links to photos or a website?
  23. Jodi was able to stick around until this Sunday and take on a few more skiers... I was able to join in and ski today for a lesson in between a private function on the lake and Jodi's clinic. Thank you Mark Lord for letting us sneak in for the clinic on your lake rental day at Radar!! With not much time skiing behind a ZO boat it was little humbling to say the least, Jodi had me working on my pull out for the gates.. As for his coaching he was very clear and great as far as explaining things in different ways to help get the point across with good examples! I wish I had more time to ski with Jodi the little time I had with him today was great, thanks again Jodi and Gar! As for ZO there's not much room for mistake, I skied with a B2 setting.. I'm use to skiing with Stargazer.
  24. Skied today up at Radar a little windy but water temp was warmer than air with it in the high 70's! Skied 2@35off not my best but descent had some killer 28's and 32's with tail and head winds!! Last week I tried a new binding setup Reflex in front and Wileys rear had a tough time with 32's at my Strada measurments so decided to go back to my Strada's felt right at home again!! Skiing on first generation 66 Strada hoping to nail a 35off 34mph before the end of summer, this is my 3rd year in the course! Thanks to everyone I ski with for the helpful tips!!
