  1. Things are looking good. Hopefully this will mean I can pick up a cheap RS-1 set-up complete with skis and boots as someone looks to dump those in favor of the Strada.
  2. Thanks everyone. Seriously considering the RS-1 with boots to match. I've found a few good deals on them already, but maybe I'll wait to see what comes out this fall. Ski season for me here is pretty well over now anyway. Cheers.
  3. I'm in my 6th summer with my animals and they are still in near perfect condition. I've never had any issues with them. I switched from the HO venom boots which at the time I felt were a little too soft. My animals are very comfortable and I'm now looking at changing to a new ski but will probably hang on to my boots, as they have given me nothing to complain about. A friend of mine has a connelly ski with stoker wrap bindings (I've never ridden the wileys), and I found them to be a little less stiff laterally. I like the snug feeling I get from my animals, but in a hard crash I still come out of them (which is good, I did this just the other day and wasn't injured at all)
  4. I'm looking to get into a new ski - don't have much chance to do test drives where I'm at. The things I read about both skis are very good. Friends who've watched me ski suggest that I ski in more of the West Coast style. I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, but ready for an upgrade and want to get something that I can hang on to for another 5-7 years without need to replace. I'm currently on an HO ASX with double animals and can get through the course. Also wondering about the RS-1 boots. Anyone ridden either or both of these skis and/or the RS-1 boots that can give me your opinion and details of what you liked/didn't like. Appreciated :)
  5. Great article, thanks Bruce. I have never had a lesson with a professional coach (though I have had some good tips from very good skiers). I typically rely on tips on forums, in magazine articles and whatever else I can get my hands on to improve my skiing. Stuff like this, with detailed explanation is great, as it sticks with me and I can actually visualize what I need to do, even as I read it.  I can't wait to get out on the water and try it. Unfortunately it's snowing right now and chances are it's at least 2 months before I get that opportunity.
