  1. @ecno I Skied a Reflex for 2 years and liked it. It was a difficult transition from rubber bindings, and my first hand full of sets were exactly like @Chef23's. I never felt like my offside was as consistent with it though. I attributed that to the narrow front of the boot not allowing me to get my inside toe planted and bring my weight forward. What ultimately made me switch to a Vapor binding was a prerelease that hurt like *%@#. I tested it many times like Andy and Horton before that occurred. I was worried about the lack of stability when I switched to the Vapor because of its hybrid design (I tried a rubber binding once or twice during my time on the Reflex and felt like I was using a sock for a binding). Switching back to a rubber binding was more difficult than the switch to a hardshell. I found the lateral control and rigidity of the Vapor was equal to that of the Reflex, and felt immediately comfortable.
  2. @twhisper just tried your site today. It worked fine. Even in a Google search, it said "this site might be hacked"
  3. Tried to go to Terry's website today. It's been hacked.
  4. Last years Polyforms lasted half the summer. This year they appear to be holding up better.
  5. I had back issues a few years ago from all the get-ups. I use a rear toe and drag a foot now. It's much easier on the back.
  6. The first new ski I ever bought was a Connelly Shadow. That's what he skied on back in the day.
  7. A front Attack and a rear toe should be just fine for you. I skied well with that set-up for two years. I transitioned to a reflex for two years and now use a Radar Vapor. If you want something with more lateral stability than the Attack without going to a hard shell, the Vapor is a great choice.
  8. I wanted to ask this question myself. I've tried many different skis and keep going back to my 6.0. I think my next new ski should be another Mapple.

@jweber I think I'll do exactly that. It's my partner's ski and I mounted my Vapor binding to it. The middle hole was close to stock, so I went with it. I have time now to experiment.

I skied the VTR a few sets a month ago. It might be one of the best turning skis I've ever been on (especially my off-side). Had a problem getting width on my harder passes. I skied a 66", but I'm at the top of the weight range. I'd really like to get my hands on a 67".
  11. +1 @Lovell. Patience is key for me at 35 off. I need to be intense behind the boat and patient in my preturn and in my turn. The ball will be going past you and you are not at the apex of your arc. Don't rush your turn. You are better off finishing 15 feet past the ball with a good turn than forcing the ski to turn at the ball. This is a mental issue of running my hardest passes that I struggle with.
  12. @skinut like you would expect from a large crossover. I thought I was going to get hurt.
