  1. It's in Canada but boats being allowed on lakes has nothing to do with Waterski Canada. There are reasources they can provide with respect to setting up courses, but even that is quite limited.
  2. Totally out of its jurisdiction.
  3. They definitely do stir up the bottom. At least to 3 or 4' depth. So does swimming though....
  4. Is the lake managed by any government entity? Transport Canada manages most waterways and where my place is in Ontario the township has some jurisdiction as well. It would take a lot of political interference to make such a massive change. Waterways are public entities, anyone can access them. Since you have property on the water, assuming you can launch your boat, there's not much anyone can do to stop you. The ski course is a seperate issue, I was told by transport Canada that if the lake owners association doesn't want the course, it needs to be removed, even if you have a permit, baring major legal battles... Yes you need to organize. Go to every homeowner who has a boat... Be nice 🙂
  5. Any 15w40 oil. Non synthetic. I've been using the Mobil delvac diesel oil. The shell Rotella is also popular. I just picked up a box of zinc additive as most oils now don't have the zinc the 351 likes.
  6. You test old alpine skis rebound by skiing on new skis
  7. I can't see how that's possible. 1/4" rope will snap in a milisecond. What did it catch on???
  8. I always cooked them in the oven except the most recent hardshell version. With how well the boa works and how snug it is I didn't feel the need.
  9. Check the battery first and confirm. Not sure about 04 but the master switch has been a known failure point on other 196 models. My 01 is wired away from the master switch. I remove the negative battery cable when it sits for more than a week in case of other draws.
  10. Very much around but probably not building as many boots as in the past. Have seen a number of old quattro systems in regular use for over a decade, still.
  11. Take my money 💰💰💰 Was hoping for a 🇨🇦 edition but would go king Poland 🇬🇧 in a minute
  12. Knew more about his younger brother Pol's skiing. Impressive both of them

    Handles

They string up with poly rope okay?

    Handles

I'm considering going to an anti roll handle. Never used one before. Any feedback on that? I have had elbow tendonitis and use a bent bar for years. One thing I notice is the masterline anto roll handle only comes in spectra. I'm sure they would be able to make a poly version but love to hear peoples thoughts on either.
  15. A transmission swap will be a few k. Although with any used boat you never know. The yellow 200 is the Ottawa Waterski clubs boat. Solid folks.
  16. What size suit and what size are you? Tia
  17. I ski tournaments and own a 01 196 with zbox and get into 11m at 55k. I have little issues skiing different boats. My buddy has a 96 sn with stargazer in our lake and it's a nice boat but night and day from my 01. Zbox is good enough for 99% of skiers, especially if you don't ski tournaments. There are lots of boats for sale all the time. I see this one as a headache. JMO
  18. I think I know the boat you're talking about. Id stay away. Find something with a more stable history and lower hours. No trailer is no bueno for me. They need a proper ski nautique 196 trailer, good luck finding one locally and even if, cost is $$$$$
  19. The jump is too close to the slalom course, it should be outside the turn buoys at least. I don't think it would have made a difference in Nate's score for this event but from a safety perspective this should be a permanent change in the homologation of events, world wide. I also made a point about Nate's near miss at Okee, at night no less, at that time. It was far far too close and an extreme safety risk. It's not worth the risk, and no argument can be made to suggest otherwise. Run your private ski school how you want, but in sanctioned events we can't continue with these close calls.
  20. Ts pond. Yes he was using Paul's 200 the last few years as well. Same guy.
  21. I spoke with Larry in depth a few weeks ago, he's using his 196 at a lake I ski at, to test the system (no zero off). Based on our discussion, it may be something at current iteration rec skier would use if they had a driver who ran over the buoys... he's only tested with skiers into 35off. It's not even close to being a tournament pull, although maybe for some skiers it could give greens on sure path, it sounded like more advanced skiers would pull it around. I explained to Larry how some drivers can make great surepath Numbers but the feel is horrible, while others feel good with similar numbers and urged that to be the goal in the system. Price was loosely quoted at ~5k.
  22. is it steel mainline or rope? 55 pregates as well?
